Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Total Hip Replacement

Title of thesis: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Total Hip Replacement. Work placement: Institute of Rheumatology (Revmatologický ústav), Prague Summary: The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to present a theoretical and practical view of coxarthrosis, also known as hip osteoarthritis, and its treatment. It consists of a theoretical part and a case study. The theoretical part consists of the anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of the hip joint, and characteristics of coxarthrosis and its treatment. The case study is based on a 64-year-old female patient who underwent total hip replacement of the left hip joint. It consists of anamnesis, initial kinesiological examination, rehabilitation plan, therapy progress, final kinesiological examination, effect of therapy, reflexion on therapy and conclusion. The methods used during the therapy sessions with the patient were all non-invasive. A combination of manual techniques and rehabilitation exercises was used with the aim to help the patient recover and become as self- reliable in the activities of daily living as possible. Title: A Case study of physiotherapy treatment of arthrosis patient after total knee replacement. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to review the rehabilitation of a patient after total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. It is divided into two parts theoretical part review and describe the anatomical structure of the knee, kinesiology, biomechanics and development and disease. The practical part aims to describe the examination procedures, therapy implementations and conclusion for the patient in relation to the given diagnose. Clinical findings: This case study reviews the condtion of a 50 years old patient after a total knee replacement. The patient had limited mobility and restricted joints around the operated side. There right knee has a swelling, change of skin colour, temperature and a scar. Methods: All the used procedures were based on the literature given thought by the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: patient was committed to the therapeutic sessions , the patient case progressed positively with the pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance for the knee joints. Cellular senescence and ageing-associated diseases

In the last years more evidence supports the role of cellular senescence in ageing-associated diseases. Cellular senescence plays a role in these diseases on multiple levels and often directly supports their pathogenesis. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to summarize latest knowledge regarding the mechanism and the efect cellular senescence has in ageing-associated diseases, namely cancer, atherosclerosis, osteoarthritis, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis, obesity and diabetes mellitus type two.
Case Study of patient After right knee replacement

Abstracts Title: Case Study of patient After right knee replacement. Goals: The aim of this thesis is to discuss the rehabilitation of patient after replacing the right knee joint and a basic general outlook of the total knee replacement surgery. Methods: Methods used in this study are all based on the literature given by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Including post isometric relaxation, joint mobilisation, and soft tissue techniques according to Lewit, length and strength measurements according to Kendall. Results: After 8 therapy sessions results of therapy were in strengthen week muscles, increasing ROM in the Knee joint and reduction of tonicity in hypertonic muscles.
