Apartment Reconstruction Project
Pecháčková, Karolina ; Smolíková, Lenka (referee) ; Doskočil, Radek (advisor)
The work focuses on the use of network analysis in the reconstruction of a flat in practice. It analyzes the current state of the building, the requirements of owners and their financial situation. It proposes ways and possibilities of project management using network analysis methods.
Risk Modelling in Engineering Applications
Konečný, Antonín ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on risk modelling in engineering applications. The knowledge obtained from statistical methods of operational research, specifically regression analysis, is used. Electrical quantities measured on the stator winding of an electrical machine (generator) are analyzed. Regression analysis and statistical hypothesis testing is performed in Statgraphics software. The success results of the regression analysis for risk reduction are documented in detail and the regression curves are visualized in graphs. Conclusions and recommendations for each generator, as well as general ones, are formulated.
Optimalizace výrobní struktury ve firmě Jelínek lahůdky z Hané s. r. o.
Zatloukal, David
Zatloukal, D. Optimalization of production structure in Jelínek lahůdky z Hané s. r. o. company. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. This these is focused on optimalization of production in Jelínek lahůdky z Hané s. r. o. company while respecting all requirements set by the management of the company, limiting conditions and for the purpose of maximizing profit or minimizing costs. The introduction and the aim of the these are described in the introduction. The following is the table of contents and a list of images and tables that were used to create the these. In the second part, the problems and theoretical aspects of operational research are explained. Then the company itself, it’s history and operations are introduced. In the practical part, several mathematical models maximizing profit, minimizing costs and a model based on a one-time higher order are created. The following are recommendations not only for a specific company, but also general recommendations for similar companies engaged in similar production.

Use of operation research methods in sport scheduling
Sopková, Magdaléna ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Fábry, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the use of operation research methods in sports scheduling. The theoretical part is focused on basic methods of operation research, linear programming and assignment problems are described in greater detail. The thesis presents the principles of sports tournaments and selected optimization softwares in the next part. In the practical part own mathematical models for sport scheduling are introduced. The solution procedure is demonstrated on real life problem of sports scheduling for actual men's basketball season. This example provides the reader with complex concept of solving process of sport scheduling problems.
Solving optimization models using Monte Carlo method
Dvořák, Marek ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis is dedicated to Monte Carlo methods and its utilization when solving optimization problems and is also focused on optimization systems for modelling stochastic programs in Microsoft Excel. Monte Carlo Methods are used in analysis of models with non-deterministic inputs. Monte Carlo Methods can be used in operation research where parameters of the model cannot be determined explicitly, but instead where these parameters are described using probability density function. This thesis explains basic principles and Crystal Ball and @RISK software is used to solve those operation research and mathematic optimization problems. There applications are Add-Ins for Microsoft Excel. Both of those applications have optimization modules.
Aplikace operačního výskumu ve věřejném sektoru
Martinovič, Tomáš ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Suchánková, Tereza (referee)
Operations research in public sector is overshadowed by business sector. However it deals with a substantial amount of problems which concern whole population. Although it is not presented so much, a lot of research was made in many areas of the public sector. This thesis provide some basic information about where the operations research can be used. Then some approaches and model system used in energy policy modeling are presented. Lastly the use of operations research in water quality management is illustrated on a basic model minimizing the cost of water treatment.
