Sieglová, Kateřina ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Laco, Jan (referee)
Kateřina Sieglová Detection of circulating antibodies to determination of autoimmuno diseases by means of imunofluorescence. Bachelor thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Medical Laboratory Technician Background: The aim of this thesis is to explore of coherence between the presence of antibody against anti brush border antibody (ABBA) and idiopatic bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). Methods: Evidence of connection idiopatic bowel disease with positive ABBA test is examine by two perspectives, which are used for selecting and comparising of data. The first way is comparison of the number ABBA positive patients with their diagnosis of endoscopic biopsy. The second way check the positivity or negativity of ABBA examination of all patients with diagnose of idiopatic bowel disease. Experimental part summarize by this way the results, which was done at the Fingerland institute of pathology since 2009 to 2011. Results: The survey showed that among all the ABBA-positive patients is a large group of those who don't have the morphological signs of Inflammatory Bowel Disease - 72,47%. 66.67% of patients with a clinical diagnosis of Crohn's disease, and 39.37% of patients with ulcerative colitis are ABBA positive. Conclusion: The results shows, that...
Herbal alternative treatment for various diseases
MICHALÍK, Petr
The theme of the thesis is Herbal alternative treatment for various diseases. Bachelor thesis is focused on medicinal plants used by the human population since time immemorial, which are used to this day, not only for treatment, but also for prevention. The introduction mentioned general part, then the history of herbal medicine, construction plant, positive and negative effects of the herbs, contained substances of herbs, harvesting, drying and finally mentioned individual herbs. The aim of this study was to map the use of herbal alternative treatments to the public within the primary and secondary prevention. The basis for the continuing part happened questionnaire regarding age population from 18 years, the results of which revealed some interesting information about the public awareness of this method of treatment using medicinal plants. The results also showed a preference for herbal or conventional treatment, then what are the most practiced methods of natural medicine and the most popular form of their use. The results also show that respondents still consider herbal therapy as an important complement to conventional medicine. Based on these findings, conclusions were drawn and set out recommendations for practice.
The relation of the population's health condition and the system AB0.
Pavlíková, Zuzana ; Peterka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Likovský, Zbyněk (referee)
This work is a summary of observations about relationships between AB0 blood groups and occurrence of certain diseases. To diseases mentioned in this work belong different types of cancer, malaria, leprosy, small-pox, vitiligo and many others. Marked association with AB0 blood groups was found for cancer of stomach, ovarian cancer, peptic ulcers and cholera. The results for other diseases are not evident or on their relationship to blood groups were not made enough confirmative studies.
Using of Dorn method and massages for horses
This thesis inform about musculoskeletal system, horse body conformation, Dorn method, massages from different literary source. In experimental part is five specific horses from sport and hobby riding and the effects of Dorn method and massages on their healthy condition. The conclusion shows that effects on horse healthy condition is positive. Small using of this methods is probably problem with education the animal breeder of this methods and their positive effects on animal healthy condition.
The incidence of postpartum diseases - ketosis, acidosis, depending on which condition and structure of the of rations in transition
Bubnová, Zuzana ; Hučko, Boris (advisor) ; Jiří, Jiří (referee)
This thesis formed on the observation of the influence of body condition score (BCS) before calving on the prevalence of ketosis after calving and the structure of mixed ration on prevalence of rumen acidosis in production herd. This thesis was made on the farm AGROBOS Ltd. in Slatina where 165 cows are raised. 25 cows and 10 heifers were assessed in dry period and whole herd of dairy cows in the production hall was monitored for performance (PM). Body condition score of cows and heifers was assessed in the period before calving on a five point scale with resolution of 0.25 points. Blood samples were taken from them from the base of the tail after calving. The concentration of betahydroxybutyrate (BHB) was monitored in blood at first to fourth days after calving using FreeStyle Optimum NEO. The structure of mixed ration in the production hall was evaluated using Penn State separator. The fat protein ratio from the PM system MOOML was observed and evaluated for incidence of chronic rumen acidosis. The measured values of BHB, the structure of the diet and the fat - protein ratio values were compared with the recommended values. As a criterium for a healthy state, the BHB concentration of 1.4 mmol / l was selected. The rumen acidosis limit for the fat protein ratio was set at 1.1. A lower fat protein ration was designated as ruminal acidosis. The suggested ration amounts for cows have been adjusted based on a grain mixture which was separately administered to dairy farms by the milking robot. Ketosis was detected in 83 % of cows on the second or higher lactation of which 9.5 % had higher condition before calving, so 3.75 point or higher. All evaluated heifers suffered ketosis after calving and 70 % had elevated condition before calving. The structure of the mixed ration had the highest deviations in proportions of large particles on upper sieve of separator. Up to 50 % of the particles for a mesh size of 19 mm were found. The average fat protein ratio was 1.12 in the whole herd. Cows, which was measured for BHB and subsequently monitored in performance during first lactation, had in the first period the average proportion of fat - protein ratio of 1.09, suggesting that the heifers on average suffered from ruminal acidosis in early lactation. Cows at second and higher lactation had in the first month of performance the average ratio of fat and protein of 1.17. Measured values: BCS and BHB; F/P and structure of mixed ration were statistically evaluated using correlation. But we have not confirmed of dependence on one production illness.
Hereditary diseases in Border Collies in the Czech republic
Jírová, Kateřina ; Chmelíková, Eva (advisor) ; Fiala Šebková, Naděžda (referee)
The Border collie breed is becoming very popular in the Czech Republic which is related to the increased possibility of hereditary diseases of the breed. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive review of literature on hereditary diseases of Border Collies in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the most common and most monitored defects and diseases affecting Border collies. In particular they are musculoskeletal diseases (hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, shoulder osteochondritis dissecans) eye diseases (progressive retinal atrophy, collie eye anomaly, and primary glaucoma), disease of the white blood cells and diseases of the nervous system (epilepsy, neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, multi-drug resistance). In Border collie breeding there is a lack of a complete database with health results of breeder dogs. The only available information provided by Border Collie Club are the results of hip dysplasia, although all dogs must be presented at evaluation with an examination of hereditary eye diseases and since January 1, 2014 also by examination of elbow dysplasia and shoulder joint osteochondritis. As at least one of the parents must be examined in trapped neutrophil syndrome with the TNS normal results, the overall results of this examination should be included in the database. Voluntary examination as neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis and multi - drug resistance are difficult to monitor but even this information would be useful. Concerning the epilepsy occurrence there is no unofficial voluntary list. The work has proved that despite the higher popularity of the Border collie breed are not burdened by hereditary diseases in the Czech Republic. There are no individuals stricken with progressive retinal atrophy or eye anomaly, nor individuals with trapped neutrophil syndrome or neuronal ceroid lipufuscinosis. The occurrence of hip dysplasia could be decreased. Although 72,9 % of breeding dogs do not suffer from hip dysplasia, the occurrence of the the limit level C, still acceptable for breeding, is 11,9 % and could be certainly higher. It is up to the decision of owners whether to breed such a dog, as well as up to the decision of the Border Collie Club when the limit is decreased.
The most common diseases of the locomotive system in horses
Bartlová, Aneta ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor) ; Starostová, Lucie (referee)
The most common diseases of the locomotive system in horses Summary The domestic horse (Equus caballus), was during the long evolution forced to adapt to changing environments. Especially its limbs have significant change, mainly reduction fingers. For horses are limbs very important, because they provide not only the ability to move, but also physiological processes in the animal body. The bachelor thesis called The most common diseases of the locomotive system in horses I was conceived as a comprehensive overview of the most common diseases of the limbs horses. With using a literature, I tried to write just the diseases, which we can meet. For a better understanding of each disease I consider it important to have at least basic knowledge of the anatomy of the limbs, hence the first part of this work is focused on the musculoskeletal anatomy of the horse. This chapter is divided into the anatomy of the thoracic and pelvic limbs and the anatomy of the hoof. Anatomy of thoracic and pelvic limbs were also divided according to skeletal and muscular system and also described as important to bones and muscles. Anatomy hoof is also described in detail The second part is focused on each diseases; podotrochlosis, osteochondrosis, arthrosis, synovitis, busked shins, ossification, desmitis, laminitis, pododermatitis. Followed by description, formation, diagnosis and therapy. Of course is important the prevention of these diseases. The proper way of the breeding on the pastures with plenty of movement a foal. As well as reasonable using horse in the sport, its gradual and reasonable increasing the training load before the top performances. Keywords: horse, breeding, disease, defects, the locomotor system
