Thermal degradation of the wood with the application of fire retardants

This bachelor‘s thesis is applied on the area of wood burning and how retarders affect the process. The theoretical part is composed of research of chemical composition of wood and its processes that exist during wood burning. Also, impacts of these retarders on these processes have been analyzed as well as methods of the research. The experimental part contains applied termogravimetric analysis of chosen retardant and its evaluation.

The project contains all the essentials of building technology project that can be used for project implementation in practice. Instead of a plot is real and if the city Czech Třebová allow this construction, will be implemented by this work.
Possibilities of reprocessing of the glycol and glycerol waste into suitable materials

At the beginning of the thesis is summarized biodiesel production and its world production. There is more developed biodiesel production in the Czech Republic and in the European Union and some European legal regulations and standards for biodiesel. Also described herein is a composition of biodiesel and the description of the technology of its production. In the theoretical section summarizes the physical and chemical properties of glycerol and there is also summarized the traditional use of glycerol as food, explosives, etc. There are also new procedures that were performed in the experimental part of the thesis. Then, here are the proposed new procedures for processing waste glycerol and glycol, which were conducted in the experimental part of the thesis. There are described the ion exchange properties of the cation exchangers and also properties of salts generated by neutralization of NaOH in the waste glycerol with organic acids and CO2. There is also described wood protection, properties of ethylene glycol as coolant and properties of boroglycerols and boroglycols as protection for wood and mechanism of their preparation. Then there is described a mechanism of dehydration of glycerol to acrolein and options which can perform the synthesis. In the experimental part, the pH of waste glycerol was measured and then was measured the amount of NaOH in the waste glycerol. There is also desribed cleaning of waste glycerol from NaOH using acidic cation exchange resins on columns, or by neutralization with oleic acid, lactic acid and CO2. Further syntheses were performed glycerol borate and ethylene glycol borate. Water amount in ethylene glycol and methanol with water amount in glycerol were found by distillation. Then were prepared boroglycol and boroglycerol. By the amount resulting from the amount of reaction water were observed reaction conditions H3BO3, Na2B4O7•10 H2O and glycerol. At the end was carried out experimental dilution resulting boroglycerol and boroglycol by ethanol, methanol, TMB. Finally, the diluted boroglycerol was deposited on wood. Dehydration of glycerol to acrolein under the catalytic action of KHSO4 was performed. The results are given all the results and discussed the possibility of using the knowledge gained in this work in the industry. In conclusion, there are listed the economic comparison using waste glycerol and crude oil as a raw material and also charts the development of oil prices in 40 years since 1970, and graph of the price of waste glycerol. There is also discussed technological applicability of the methods used in practice.

The thesis deals with the documentation of a timbered building in the village of Čeladná from the beginning of the 20th century. The thesis contains a complete description of all structures and details of the building, including photo documentation. For better recording, a 3D model of the wooden structure was created and the accuracy of the existing documentation was checked. The identified structural failures were plotted in the views generated from this model. The overall condition of the building and its causes were evaluated and recommendations for its possible restoration were described, taking into account its economic and historical value.

The bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of a wooden pavilion, which will be placed in the park in Lipník nad Bečvou. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical block is described place possible implementation; there are also explained concepts such as urbanism, green, public space, street furniture, etc. It is important to mention construction materials, fasteners, wood preservatives, wood modification and ergonomics. The practical part includes a specific proposal and its possible implementation is completed visualization. The result is therefore a proposal to implement a wooden gazebo design to meet all the requirements of users, safety, durability, comfort and overall aesthetic appeal.
Vliv impregnace dřeva hovězí krví na jeho odolnost proti dřevokazným houbám

The wood in buildings used to be treated with cattle blood. This paper deals with efficiency of such wood treatment against wood-decaying fungi. The main goal of the theoretical part was to summarize and settle obtainable information about cattle-blood wood impregnation. There were three different recipes based on cattle blood practically tested against brown-rot fungi (Poria placenta) and white-rot fungi (Trametes versicolor). The wood protection against wood-decaying fungi was evaluated as ineffective according to the ČSN EN 839 standard. The reason for wood treatment with blood and possible use in presence are still to be found.

This work deals with design of wooden facade for a family house. In theoretictal part of work focuses primarily on diagnostics of problematice current wooden facades systems. Gradually is explained which kinds of wood are appropriate or inaproppriate for installation to exteriers what are essential rules in the realization of the facade and which way you can protect wood from external atmospheric influences. Theoretical section also includes design of three wooden facades of different trees. Practical part deals with designing and implementation of one wooden facade of the proposals. Drawing Documentation and justification why this type of facade was chosen are attached.
Porovnání účinnosti metod extrakce tropických dřev na základě analýzy získaného extraktu a jeho vlivu na dřevokazné houby

The thesis compares the efficiency of two extraction methods: using the FexIKA apparatus and using ultrasound. To compare the extraction methods, extracts from merbau (Intsia bijuga O.Ktze.) and jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril L.) were created. These tropical woods were ground and extracted. From the extracts, three concentrations of protective substances were created. The protective substances were tested to determine the content of extractive compounds and polyphenolic compounds. The obtained protective substances were impregnated into the wood of common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) and pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). The impregnated beech and pine samples were tested to determine the protective effectiveness against Trametes versicolor L. and Coniophora puteana P. Karst. From the acquired data, the loss of mass of the wood was assessed. The results showed that only samples impregnated with the protective substance with concentration of 3 showed adequate protection. Analysis of the protective substances showed a higher yield when using FexIKA on Merbau wood. Jatoba wood extraction showed a slightly higher yield when extracting using ultrasound. In general, the samples impregnated with extracts obtained using FexIKA showed lower mass loss than samples impregnated with extracts obtained using ultrasound.
