Analysis of the training methods of the mountain bike cross-country marathon

Abstract Title: Analysis of Training Methods for Mountain Bike Cross-Country Marathon Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to serve as an inspirational source based on the analysis of training methods. This analysis will be conducted through a review of published sources, which will be compared and analyzed based on established parameters. Methods: The bachelor's thesis is designed as a review study that uses research methods and content analysis. Its task is to synthesize existing knowledge to make the information more comprehensive. The parameters we have set for observation are training effectiveness and training methods. Results: The results indicate that a combination of different training methods, such as sprint, polarized, and high-intensity interval training, best improves cycling performance. A systematic and varied approach to training is recommended for maximum improvement. Conclusions: Based on the reviewed sources used in our thesis, we concluded that short- sprint training (SST) is more effective than heavy strength training (HST) for improving cyclists' sprint abilities. Polarized training (POL) shows a slight improvement in performance compared to low-intensity training (LIT). The studies also suggest that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is more effective than sprint interval...

The first part is devoted to the theoretical background for creation of analysis and explanation of important concepts in mountain biking. The second part is focused on application of analysis. The last section contains suggestions for improvements and increase the attractiveness of the races.

In conclusion I reviewed whether or not the objectives were achieved and summarized the most important results of the performed methods.

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the information service provided by the media during World championship in cross-country in Nové Město na Moravě 2016. Cross-country is a progressive olympic discipline which is attracting more and more audience around the world. Throughout its history, we could see many changes in its rules which are affected by the new technologies, like shortening racing time, and also changes in expectations of the fans who want to watch faster and more difficult style of racing than the decade before. The thesis also concerns itself with mountain biking in general, its history and its founders. Main goal of this thesis is to find out how the media, more specifically ČTK, iDNES.cz, Aktuálně.cz and mtbs.cz, informed about news and results from the World championship. Also there will be a comparison between their reports and services they provided, like photo or video recordings.
