The Instruction of the Second Foreign Language at the Second Grade of Basic School

(in English) This bachelor thesis deals with the instruction of foreign languages and especially the second foreign language at basic school. The second foreign language as a compulsory subject was introduced in 1. 9. 2013 and during the following school year 2013/2014 was implemented into the education documents and taught at basic schools for the first year.
Towards the Boundaries of Fictional Narrative

My thesis examines the nature of contemporary fictional narration and explores its relations to other types of narration - mainly texts where educational or informative function prevails over the aesthetic one. The whole work is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical; it sets up basic areas of interest and names methods, tools and models that will be tested on selected examples from Slavonic literatures. The second part analyses spatial and temporal relations of fictional narrative. Chapter 2.1 treats time and space in a novel mostly from the compositional point of view (based on the example of Sasha Sokolov's A School for Fools), while in the next chapter, focusing on ideational interconnections between literary and social- political utopias, both fictionality and temporality are understood more broadly than mere narrative categories: they serve as certain points of connection between the immanent occurrence of meaning in the "world of text" and its historical background. The third part continues in this direction, only what we mean by context here is not the collective historical background, but an individual sphere of everyday life. The football language from the point of view of the non-native speakers

My work is focused on adoption of foreign language and language skills of Czech football players in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The basis of my research is a complex of ten dialogues with contemporary or former football players, who helped to analyse their language skills. Information I gained give us a full survey about German language during their staying - it shows their original knowledge, requirements of their clubs, possibilities of option to learn and their consequences and the reached language level. As well it was shown, that the situations can occur, which can make the adoption of the language easier or harder. Getting of language skills proved to be very individualistic phenomenon. The linguistic education of football players is complicated by the fact, that commonly used German language is different from the language used on the football pitch. Four dialogues in German language allowed me the detailed language analysis.
EU linguistic regime in practise: comparison of availability of documents in Czech, French and English on the website of the Economic and Social Comitee

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the language regime of the European Union in practice. The focus of this bachelor thesis is the comparison of the availability of documents in Czech, French and English on the website of the European Economic and Social Committee. The theoretical part of this work focuses on basic information about the Union's institutional system with inclusion of the European Economic and Social Committee in it and it describes the issue of multilingualism of the European Union. The practical part deals with the visual appearance of the web pages and then with the analysis of the found documents. In the end, the obtained results of the analysis are accordingly evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively.
The established practices in inclusive education in Germany

The thesis deals with the issue of the integration of established practices in inclusive education. As a target country for processing has been selected the Federal Republic of Germany. The first part deals with basic facts about migration of foreigners to Germany with the respect of current events. It also addresses the topic of integration, where are mapped the general integration efforts from the government, organizations and volunteers. Then the thesis is focused on the issue of provision of language courses and inclusive education for children of foreigners. These theoretical parts are complemented by real observations from the German environment. Final theoretical part is about multilingualism, with an emphasis on teaching the main language in the classes for foreigners, qualification and competence of teachers, principles and methods of teaching the second language which is relevant for these classes. The practical part creates the concept of teaching immigrant children by using theoretical information. It includes intercultural aspects and the most intensive way, how to transmit the information. Last part contains description of teaching course, which was implemented in practice.
German after English as a Third Language with Focus on Irregular Verbs

This bachelor work deals with the specific field of verbal flexion in English and German and thus with the formation of past tense at morphologically specific group of irregular verbs in German and English which show some similarity as well as "faux amis" (false friends). The theoretical part is firstly focused on German verb and formation of past tense. In the next part the work is shortly focused on the field of irregular verbs in both languages that are researched and these verbs are analysed and sorted out according to their similarity or difference (morphological, lexical and phonetic.), faux amis, paradigms. In the empirical part, 10 verbs are chosen that are taught in both languages or can be taught at primary school. Various didactical materials such as exercises, work sheets etc. are presented so that they can be used in effective teaching of irregular verbs and can be used for children who have English as the first language.
Linguistic regime of the EU in practise: comparison of accessibility of the documents in Czech, French and English on the websites of the EU Agencies settled in France.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of linguistic regime of European Union in practice. The main purpose of this work is to compare accessibility of the documents in Czech, French and English on the websites of the EU Agencies settled in France. The thesis briefly introduces institutional framework of the European Union with focus on European Union agencies. The following chapter describes the linguistic regime of European Union. The core of this work is the last chapter which aims to evaluate the linguistic accessibility of the documents on the websites of the Community Plant Variety Office, European Railway Agency and European Union Institute for Security Studies. The results of this analyse are illustrated in tables and graphs and at the end of this work they are evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Economic Impact of Multilingualism in the EU

The objective of the thesis is to analyse the questions of multilingualism in the EU from a large range of aspects, in particular from the one associated with its economic impact. The thesis aims to find answers to the questions concerning the necessity or uselessness of a large number of the EU official languages, the impact of multilingualism on its competitiveness and the future of multilingualism in the EU. The first chapter introduces the context of multilingualism in the EU from the administrative, political, juridical, historical and philological points of view. It also shows the development of the EU multilingualism policy. The most important second chapter focuses on the economic aspects of multilingualism in the EU. It analyses the controversial case of the unified European patent and its translations, the ELAN study exploring the effects of insufficient foreign language skills in enterprise on European economy and lastly the report of the Business Forum on multilingualism considering the impact of language skills on business and employment in the EU. The third chapter depicts the main goals of the actual EU strategy for multilingualism in a broader, not only economic context. The fourth chapter is a practical study prepared by the author which presents opinions of 25 Czech specialists working with EU languages of the questions considered in the first three chapters. The thesis confirms the necessity of retaining the actual number of EU official langages, mainly for political reasons. It also points out the economic potential involved in the foreign languages which would -- under certain circumstances -- strenghten the competitiveness of the EU. In the future the multilingualism is expected to be retained and even more encouraged by the EU institutions, member states and by the private sector with the objective of a better utilization of its potential.
Language teaching in the EU

This thesis deals with the language teaching in the European Union. By the representatives of the EU language learning is considered as one of the key areas because proficiency in foreign languages is a prerequisite for the economic growth of the EU and for the flourishing communication. This work follows the development of the European educational programmes which are concerned with the language teaching, describes their goals and structure. Then it mentions the legislation of the EU which encloses this policy. The last part of the thesis tries to say if the strategy in this area is successful. At first it describes the linguistry level in the member states, then it demonstrates how the Czech Republic pursues the aims of the EU and in the end it illustrates how the schools in the South Bohemian Region participate in the educational programmes.
French and Czech terminology in European legislative texts from the domain: Turnover tax, VAT

The main theme of this thesis is the chosen French and Czech terminology resulting from the European legislative texts focused on the area of: {\clqq} Turnover tax, VAT``. The first part is devoted to the legal text translation theory and to the multilinguism of the Community law. The second part of the work deals with selection, arrangement and subsequent processing of legislative texts in the special program called {\clqq}ParaConc``. These texts were processed in a form of parallel corpus. Consequently I selected 140 key words and their collocations which were finally analyzed from the point of the quality of the translation and their structure.
