The main issue when designing libraries of Lausanne was an environment in which the library is located. The city is relatively steeply sloping from the Lac Léman and because they offer interesting views of the lake from many places in the city. In this system, when the views are oriented south toward the lake, is a territory that differs in structure from the rest of the city. The valley in which the river flowed Flon in the 19th century were filled on a flat surface vzikly industrial buildings with rational structure that crossed the railroad.

In the area with a strong past where river Flon was covered with 3 horizontal platforms and changed into industrial area there is now a new cultural center of the city growing. Our diploma thesis is a proposal to transform one of the blocks into a municipal library of Lausanne. The library is conceived as two objects turned towards each other with even and silk double glass facade as if it was one object sliced into two. It creates an exterior space in the system of whole platform. Interior is a system of bigger spaces, where you can go to light, and smaller spaces, where you can go for silent and concentration.
Critical discourse analysis of #metoo press coverage in Quebec
Glorieux, Charlotte ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Lábová, Sandra (referee)
In 2017, the #metoo movement lead to the denunciations of public and private figures around the world. In the aftermath of the movement's various waves, media coverage of sexual assault gained considerable traction due to the popularity of the movement. In Canada, journalists gave voices to the victims, while exposing the abusers. Quebec stands apart from the rest of Canada, due to its historical and social context. Based on a social construction and critical feminism approach, media coverage in Quebec newspapers at the time of the first #metoo wave in 2017, as well as its successor in 2020 was analysed. This study shows that there was an evolution in the newspaper coverage of the movement between 2017 and 2020. Journalists were dealing with two different types of waves, which reflected in their coverage. Between both time periods, media coverage of the victims' public denunciations led to increased indignation towards rape culture, heightened concern about cancel culture, a need for better education and criticism of the justice system. The problematics of art in public space during the period of normalization on the example of the Prague metro This thesis deals with the problematics of art in public space during the period of normalization on the example of the Prague metro. The premises of metro required formal restrictions on the artworks that were intended to embellish it. For security reasons the artworks were not allowed to be on the platforms, nor in the central access tunnel, and could appear only in the vestibules and public passages or on street level at the exits from stations. On the one hand Prague metro had a clearly political component, emphasizing the friendly relationships with the Soviet Union and the key importance of the involvement of Soviet experts for the existence of modern transport systems in Prague. On the other hand, the same project made it possible to involve artists whose independent work was rejected by the regime. At the beginning of the text, I summarize the history of the Prague metro and the phenomenon of underground transport as such, followed by a section devoted to the influence of the Moscow metro on the Prague environment. The main portion of the thesis is dedicated to the art general, circumstances of the origin of artworks, assessment, financing, and realization of works of art in the...
