Coaching in non-commercial sector

The bachelor's thesis deals with coaching as a method of the development of staff and thereby also of organizations in the Non-Commercial Sector. The thesis focuses on the theoretical knowledge related to coaching, its development and methods, external and internal coaching, the coach's competencies and coaching research Attention is paid to the specificities of the development and motivation of staff working in the Non-Commercial Sector and to the existing treatment of coaching in the Non-Commercial Sector as a topic in scientific literature and other sources. The thesis includes the author's original qualitative research that was performed using semi-structured interviews with five coached staff members from the Non- Commercial Sector, specifically from the social area, from regional authorities and from the education system. The research focuses on the specific forms of the use of coaching in the Non-Commercial Sector, its context, the benefits for the development of staff members and organizations, as well as on the specificities of coaching in the Non-Commercial Sector. The research outputs illustrate the current situation in the use of coaching in Non-Commercial organizations. Continuous education of coaches on the consulting market

The theoretical part of the thesis writes about definition and coaching concept, distinguishing coaching from the other consulting methods and approaches that influenced the coaching and on which coaching is based on. More detailed part is dedicated to the personality of the coach, his key competencies and introduction of professional organizations. The end of the theoretical part is focused on the educational system for coaches in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis summarizes the results of the research, which was focused on the education and training of coaches and surveys about their attitudes towards self-development,membership in professional organizations and individual certifications. The results, according to the character of the data received, were processed using the descriptive statistics. The results are presented in graphical and verbal form. This section presents the results of a quantitative survey. The research showed that the majority of respondents continue to undergo certified trainings, further develops themselves in different areas and usually is not a holder of a professional certification or a member of a professional organization. Another outcome is, that the quality of professional coaches in the Czech Republic is very diverse.
Coaching as a method of developing people in a manufacturing company

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the coaching process in a manufacturing company and on the basis of these information to compare the period before the implementation of coaching and after that. Positive impacts will be observed, particularly in terms of efficiency of the production process, as well as wastage rate and finally will be evaluated levels of employee's satisfaction. For this purpose will be used evaluating interviews with employees, who participated in coaching, together with internal company materials. Benefit of this thesis is primarily evaluation the impact of the coaching process in the manufacturing company and based on the findings to propose recommendations for future development in the area of human resources. General conclusions of this thesis and subsequent recommendations could be useful for other manufacturing companies, which would like to develop employees through coaching.
Coaching as a method of leadership

This thesis deals with the methods of coaching as a leadership in professional basketball clubs in the Czech Republic. The objective of the thesis is to determine how much the professional basketball coaches are familiar with methods of coaching and whether they use any of them in their daily practice. To find the necessary information there has been used a questionnaire survey through email correspondence with coaches. The results are then compared with the information obtained through studying books of leading American coaches. The benefits of this thesis are identification and evaluation of the coaching utilization in management of professional basketball teams. The issue of coaching in this or any other sports in the Czech Republic has not been written up into any book. The actual summary of foreign literature dedicated to this topic is also beneficial. The bonuses of this thesis are the recommendations to improve the performance of basketball coaches. Recommendations and conclusions of this thesis can be useful not only for improving the work of the respondents of this questionnaire, but they can be used as general source for increasing work efficiency in the management of sports teams. The thesis may also be used by basketball players to expand their knowledge of the development of their own abilities and skills. The results are also useful for the Czech Basketball Federation, Association of Basketball Coaches, which is responsible for the methodology of coaches' education and universities providing a two-year educational program Trainers' School. The thesis could be divided into four main parts. The first part deals with the general areas of coaching, its use, attitudes and personality coach. The second part focuses on the area of sports coaching and then the specifics of leadership in basketball. The third part deals with the exploration of the use of coaching in leading basketball teams by professional trainers. The final section summarizes the results of individual coaches and provides recommendations to improve their work.
