The influence of the medial image of first ladies Olga and Dagmar Havel in the Mladá fronta Dnes on the overall perception of president Václav Havel

The goal of the hereby presented master's thesis is to provide a novel view of the person and personality of Václav Havel, the first post-November president and dramatic. The author does so through medial images of his two wives, Olga Havlová and Dagmar Havlová, performing their function as the first ladies. A specific periodical was chosen for purposes of the conducted analysis - Mladá fronta DNES. The theoretical part of the work aims to present the life and work of Havel and both of his wives, while also providing a definition of the role of the president and the first lady in the Czech Republic. A generic profile of the investigated periodical is also briefly discussed. Lastly, the theoretical part contains a description of the research method consisting of qualitative and content analysis. In the practical part of the presented thesis, texts concerning the president and his wife were chosen based on previously stated criteria. The focus was put on their foreign state visits, charitable activities, or private life of the pair. The author investigates the differences in the medial images of both first ladies and their effect on the image of president Havel in various time periods. Flight of First Czechoslovak Spaceman Vladimír Remek and its Reflection in Czech Period Newspapers

The objective of these bachelor thesis is to describe how the three Czechoslovak contemporary periodicals reported about the flight of first Czechoslovak spaceman Vladimir Remek and if the media did use this event for propaganda of communism regime. Thesis focus on posts about cosmonautics and especially Remek's flight in period which covers one week before start of spaceship Sojuz 28 in March 1978, it also covers course of the flight and return of the ship to the Earth. Analysis continues to triumphal return to Czechoslovakia and First of May celebrations, which delegation of cosmonauts attended. Bachelor thesis find out which image the common Czechoslovak citizen has made with chosen contemporary Czechoslovak press and how much was this image different from objective description which I found in books and in special articles. I suppose that mentioned periodicals have to use cosmonaut's flight for propagandist campaign of communist ideology and cooperation between Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. I tried to discover which instrument media use to accomplish subjective description of events.

Changes of medial image of civil society in Slovakia and Košice EHMK 2013

This diploma thesis deals with the medial image of civil society and non governmet organisations in three main daily papers in Slovakia(Sme, Pravda, Hospodárske noviny). Thesis tries to answer the question - what kind of medial image were mentioned daily papers forming and publishing. Thesis also deals with the biggest non-governmental organisation in Slovakia - Košice - European capital of culture 2013 and its role and influence in that medial image. Im using method of contentual analysis. Im comparing this media image during two periods - January 2007 and January 2013.

Media image of David Černý and his work in the zech press

This bachelor thesis "The medial image of David Černý and his work in the czech press" is trying to present the medial image of contemporary czech controversial artist in selected periodicals, formed both by the media and his personality. For specific documentation of the image, its changes and development while outlining development of periodicals themselves were selected two seasons; five-year period before the turn of the millennium (1996-2000) and equally long period after the turn of the millennium (2006-2010), the periodicals were chosen from among the most read newspapers (MF DNES, Lidové noviny, Hospodářské noviny and Blesk) and weeklies (Reflex, Respekt a Týden). In the first part is presented the biography of David Černý and his work, as well as some of the press trends since 1989. The second part of the work is focused on a specific period and personality in the monitored titles, the aim is to describe from selected articles the medial image of David Černý and describe, how it has been transformed, how has changed expression of the artist and which changes have occured in press. Analysis of the media image of the war in Ukraine in selected media

The diploma thesis deals with medial images of selected events of the Ukraine War and their comparison in selected Ukrainian, Russian and Czech media. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify, describe and compare medial images of key events of the Ukraine War in selected intelligence portals with various political orientation. The assumption is that there probably exist alternatives in opinion of the official Russian position in the frame of the Ukrainian and Czech media discourse. The first part of the thesis deals with theoretical concepts that are connected with propaganda and state-organised communication, and specifies the differences among them. Furthermore, a design of the research is introduced. The analytical part provides results and the content analysis detections in medial statements that were published in selected media between 20th February 2014 and 31st December 2014. The conclusion summarises the main detections of the research and their assets in the field of a propaganda survey.

Slovak National Uprising in 1944 and its medial presentation in the contemporary Czech press

The author of this bachelor thesis describes the Slovak National Uprising in 1944 from the perspective of selected Czech legal press. The thesis compares the contemporary interpretation in the protectorate press with a current historiographic understanding of that event, based on the materials from the daily newspapers such as Venkov, Národní práce, České slovo (or Večerní České slovo) and the Přítomnost monthly. Furthermore, the thesis illustrates the function of the protectorate mass media and brings to light their propaganda nature.
