Reliability analysis of embankment dams endangered by filtration deformations
Čejda, Marek ; Baroková,, Dana (referee) ; Fošumpaur, Pavel (referee) ; Říha, Jaromír (advisor)
Subject of the dissertation is a probability analysis on creation of embankment subsoil filtration deformations. Out of the broad topic of filtration deformations, the dissertation is focused at initiation of the process. At this phase, the overlying layers downstream of levee get uplifted, and eventually get breached. The process of downstream subsoil failure probability estimation is formulated using mathematical and statistical modelling. Within the scope of parametrical study the suggested method is applied onto a test environment. Results of the probability estimation are compared with results obtained using Limit state design method. The results of stochastic modelling can be used for improvement of Limit state design method precision.

Sucháček, Tomáš ; Valkovič,, Pavel (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
This document aims on aplication of sophisticated software programs to accomplish hydraulic analysis of real water supply, design and optimization measures for improvement of pressure conditions in water network. In this work is stated a list and description of software enabling to accomplish static or longterm hydraulic analysis of water supply when the most world used program EPANET 2.0 is described more deeply. There is described working of a EPANET and his algorithm also there are explain principles on which EPANET is based. During the hydraulic analysis of real system was used sophisticated software EPANET 2.0. With this program was processed hydraulic analysis of chosen water supply system of small consumption area. Based on the results of analysis pressure conditions has been designed and optimized measure to improve pressure conditions in the water network.
Analysis of operation data for purposes of optimization
Slavíček, Martin ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with analysis of operation data for purposes of optimization. The thesis is divided into four chapters. First chapter focuses on present and future development in waste management legislation. It mainly deals with prevention, recycling and disposal of waste. Second chapter more closely describes waste-to-energy process. This chapter also describes the technology of municipal waste incinerator in Liberec, Termizo, a.s. Third chapter starts with description of tools used in design of the models based on operation data. Then the models for individual technological nodes are described. The last part is focused on building a complex model of Termizo using previous results.
Mathematical modeling and measuring of motorcycle dynamics
Gellner, Pavel ; Zháňal, Lubor (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the dynamics of motor vehicles. The introductory part of the thesis outlines basic principles of motorcycle riding dynamics modelling. Furthermore, a methodology of necessary parameters measuring was designed, including a measurement of a selected motorcycle. At the end of the thesis a measuring system for measuring of motorcycle dynamics was designed.

Bachelor thesis is focused on the optimization of production planning using MS Excel. It includes a proposal for extension of the Solver add-in user friendly features that facilitate the optimization of business processes.
Mathematic Modelling of Reverse Osmosis System Design for Detection of Estrogens in Water
Siegel, Jan ; Skopalík, Josef (referee) ; Bittner, Michal (advisor)
Estrogen compounds are a subgroup of the environmental pollutants named Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals. It is a large group of chemicals which are capable of causing hormonal imbalance of an organism and affecting its reproductive, developmental or behavioral functions. In the environment, they are found in very low concentrations (below ng/l). This makes their detection and elimination highly problematic. The Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX) has been developing an experimental device which employes reverse osmosis (RO) to concentrate the trace amounts of micropollutants (e.g. estrogens). The aim is to lower the detection limit of subsequent analytical methods. RO seems to be a promising alternative to commonly used methods which are more time consuming and costly. The aim of this thesis is to create a mathematical model of RO, which would describe the process of estrogen concentration and therefore could contribute to the optimization of experimental device. The mathematical model was created in MATLAB-simulink and verified by comparison to thirteen experimental results. The solutions used to test the model were NaCl at 0.002–2 g/l and drinking water with 17-ethinylestradiol of 25 ng/l. In order to concentrate the retentate on a flat-sheet RO membrane the model achieves a mean relative error in the range of 0.9–4.9 % for NaCl and drinking water. For the concentration of estrogens the deflection is 3.6 %. Comparing the model and experimental concentration of NaCl on a spiral wound RO-membrane, the deviation is in the range of 5.9–8.7 %. So far, ratio of retentate volume from the beginning to the end of the process has been used to determine the process recovery. However, due to the results obtained in the thesis, this approach appears inaccurate. A more accurate recovery would likely be achieved by using the theoretical concentration value obtained by the proposed mathematical model. However, to increase reliability, the further measurements with estrogens are needed, and also to determine the causes of deflection of model and experimental retentate volume values at the end of the concentration
Optimization Risk Modelling in Strategic Applications
Kovalčík, Marek ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and efficiently implement a framework to support optimization modelling. The emphasis is placed on two-stage stochastic optimization problems and performing calculations on large data. The computing core uses the GAMS system and with using its application interface and Python programming language, the user will be able to efficiently acquire and process input and output data. The separation of the data logic and the application logic then offers a wide range of options for testing and experimenting with a general model on dynamically changing input data. The thesis is also focused on an evaluation of the framework complexity. The framework performance was evaluated by measuring the time required to complete the required task for various use cases, on the increasing sample size of input data.
The impact assessment of a new deep foundation for the structure of the primary service tunnel
Lipka, Miroslav ; Horák, Vlastimil (referee) ; Horák, Vladislav (advisor)
The purpose of the diploma thesis is assess the impact of piles on primary collector lining. Using a mathematical model has been calculated interaction between pile ond collector lining. The main task is to decide the length dependence of the pile deformations and internal forces that are the concrete lining of the collector.
Assessment of pressure conditions in the water supply network of the village Poličná
Zuzaňák, René ; Libosvár, Dušan (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is devoted to the hydraulic analysis of the water supply network in the municipality of Poličná, Vsetín district. The introductory part of the thesis is devoted to the theory of mathematical modelling of the water supply network. A quasi-dynamic hydraulic model of the entire water supply network was created to determine the pressure conditions of the water supply network and then calibrated and verified based on the pressure measurements on the water supply network. The characteristic operating conditions of the water supply network were reflected in the simulation model of EPANET 2.2. Following the existing scale and type of development given by the current zoning plan of the municipality of Poličná, the pressure conditions on the water supply network of the municipality of Poličná were assessed using the results of the hydraulic analysis. The thesis includes proposed measures to optimize the pressure conditions for the prospective scale of development.
