Patient assessment system based on mHealth techniques

This bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of examining patients using an electronic questionnaire based on mHealth techniques. In the first two chapters of this work is included the issue of patient examination, the function that must fulfill the electronic questionnaire, the research of existing types of mobile applications and the description of the selected type. The following chapters contain the process of creating web applications, implementation of client and server part, their communication, used security elements and brief description of graphical interface. The result is a functional progressive web application that has been tested successfully and is published on the Internet.
Mobil system for monitoring of sports activity

The aim of this master’s thesis is to analyse methods that are used for monitoring athlete’s activities and a description of current technical solutions with a focus on heart rate and respiratory rate monitoring. The presented solution shows the possibilities of using available open source SW and HW technologies and their implementation in the design of an integrated tool for monitoring sports activities with the iOS operating system.
Design and Implementation of Cross-Platform Mobile Application

For several decades, market fragmentation caused by different operating systems has been complicating and overpricing the process of creating new applications. Unified development for multiple platforms does not only save time and expenses, but also enables to reach a far wider audience. This work presents the topic of a cross-platform mobile development and analyzes the development of the market for currently the two most prevalent operating systems – Android and iOS. The results of the analysis are used to design and create a multiplatform tool intended to monitor immunopathologic reactions. The work also includes a marketing plan and expected economic valuation once the developed application is introduced to the market.
Application for heart rate estimation using smartphone

This student work deals with the issue of heart biosignals, their processing, the possibility of their acquisition using conventional and smart devices, and the regulation of mobile devices in healthcare. The work also includes the design of a mobile application, which can be used to a quick estimation of the human heart rate (HR). The optimized functional application algorithm was tested on a sample of independent subjects and a mean deviation of 0.74 beats per minute (BPM), relative to the ECG reference record, was reached.

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the difficulties that university students have in accessing these apps, the positive and negative aspects they perceive about the apps and the reasons that lead students to uninstall the app or not to continue using it. The theoretical section includes chapters on the development and classification of apps, the approaches used within apps, and maps the effectiveness of these apps, their benefits, and their limitations, including ethical limitations. Within the theoretical part, specific applications are also presented and analysed, which are then the focus of the empirical part of the thesis. One of the chapters is devoted to the mental health of university students. The empirical part used a mixed research design that included two research methods, namely questionnaire and interview. Evaluation of effect of mobile application CF Hero on compliance of inhalation treatment and respiratory physiotherapy of pediatric and juvenile patients with cystic fibrosis

This diploma thesis deals with the adherence to inhaled treatment, its measurement, telemedicine and telerehabilitation and the possible use of the CF Hero mobile app in paediatric patients with cystic fibrosis. In the theoretical part, it presents knowledge about cystic fibrosis, adherence to treatment in patients with cystic fibrosis and possibilities of its measurement, telemedicine and telerehabilitation. The practical part describes the CF Hero mobile app, which has been the target of measurements on several patients. At the same time, a questionnaire was developed focusing on satisfaction with the use of this mobile application. Methods: The practical part was conducted as a multicentre prospective cross-over study investigating the effect of the CF Hero mobile app on adherence to inhaled treatment, respiratory quality of life and chest excursion The evaluation was conducted over a 6-month period, with the primary objective being to measure the amount of exhaled solution relative to the prescribed amount. Health technology assessment od digital diabetes therapeutics

The prevalence of Type 2 diabetes mellitus is increasing all around the world. This chronic disease leads to a decrease in quality of life and brings a significant financial burden to the national health systems. While diabetes not being completely reversible, it can be well controlled by introducing and maintaining healthy living habits. Nowadays, such intervention can be deliv- ered through digital devices with less medical staff time needed. This thesis investigates the cost-effectiveness of the lifestyle intervention delivered by a mobile application on a German study sample of 42 patients. The analysis is performed using a discrete-time Markov chain for the different lifetimes of the model. The robustness of the results is checked using both deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analysis. Results suggest that digital intervention can be considered cost-effective in both the short and long-term compared to the current standards of care. 1
Assessment of the efficacy of an eHealth intervention including lapse management program in population of Czech tobacco smokers.

Background: Tobacco use is one of the key problems that public health has to face. Tobacco smoking is among the main causes of morbidity and preventable mortality that can be effectively avoided. The eHealth approach uses information and communication technologies to improve the quality of health and healthcare. EHealth interventions delivered through technologies and the Internet are an effective therapeutic tool which contributes to behaviour change, including smoking cessation. This paper presents the results of continuous research on fully automated online eHealth intervention for smoking cessation. Aims: The main objective of this study was to identify the effect of the form of reminders (SMS vs. email) in eHealth smoking cessation intervention using the Endre eHealth program in the population of Czech tobacco smokers. Materials and methods: This research consists of two studies. First, a pilot study on user- acceptance of eHealth intervention was performed in a sample involving 30 respondents. This was followed by a randomized two-arm controlled study comparing the effect of a predictor in the form of eHealth intervention reminders for smoking cessation. Application For Heart Rate Estimation Using Smartphone

This work deals with estimation of the human heart rate (HR) using a mobile phone camera. The goal was to create a functional application for a smartphone with a real-time HR detection. A preliminary functional algorithm was tested on a sample of 10 independent subjects and a mean deviation of 8.3 beats per minute (BPM), relative to an ECG reference record, was reached. Considering only visibly calm subjects, the mean deviation was 1.5 BPM.
