Works of composer Otmar Mácha for Children

This work aims to explore the artistic development of the personality of the composer Otmar Mácha and his work in cultural and social contexts, to focus on his works intended for children and youth and to assess the possibilities of using his work in contemporary music education. It follows the beginnings of the composer's musical career and pays attention to the influences that shaped his personality and gave the unique character of his musical language. It examines the influence of regional musical culture, its roots, and artistic personalities that the composer met during his professional development and followed up on in his creative work. It analyzes the selected works from the point of view of their significance for aesthetic education and the development of children's musical imagination. In the composer's work, he looks for works that, through the emotional experience of a musical message, shape aesthetic feelings and values in the development of a child's personality. Music education in kindergartens with a focus on listening activities

Listening activities in preschool education are, despite their vast potential, assessed more as additional activities. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the profundity of classical music in particular and thus motivate prospectively the teachers to include this genre into their educational activities more often and more elaborately. The theoretical part is focused on specifying the basis of music activities in the kindergarten, then it narro ws the survey of listening activities and defines teaching methods for them, beginning with a preparation and ending with an assessment. The practical part is based on theoretical knowledge and introduces three compact projects that aim at accomplishing th eir overlap into all the five teaching areas of the FEP for PE. It also comprises a partial research that investigates a level of listening activities in contemporary kindergartens.
Musical activities in nursery school focused on children at two and three years

The thesis deals with the musical activities of two-year and three-year-old children in kindergarten. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of two-year and three-year-old children, the inclusion of two-year-old children in kindergarten, the importance of music and the child's musical development. It also deals with musical activities focusing on two-year and three-year-old children. The practical part of the work was focused on the research of particular musical activities in the kindergarten of the above mentioned age group from the point of view of the teachers and also on the musical environment in family. The research was conducted in the form of an interview with kindergarten teachers, a questionnaire survey among the parents of these children, and an analysis of songs and songbooks for the youngest children. The main objective was to find out how teachers perform musical activities with children, and what they see as the biggest differences between two- and three-year-old children. Next goal was to find out if parents work with children in this area and how. Whether the selected sample of songbooks contains songs of the appropriate range and pitch and whether they contain examples of possible instrumental and musical involvement of the children. Influence of visual images on forming listening skills of elementary school music students

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of visualisaion during listening to the music in the music lessons at the elementary school. The thesis contains suggestions for both: visualisation-based listening work and listening work without visualisation. Theoretical part contains theoretical background of the topic. It covers the development of the listening activities, describes their contemporary conception and deals with their psychological aspects. Practical part of this study comprises the research surveys with didactic materials. Part of the work is a CD with listening tests, presentations and videostreams, which are adapted for presentation during classes.
Musical listening activities of children and youth in their leisure time

The work is concentrated on musical functions in children´s and youth´s life in their leisure time and especially musical listening activities. It describes different attitudes to meaning and character of music in history. It concerns in advantage of listening activities in the area of personal children´s and youth´s development. The work notices possible risks which are connected with aversion of parents and teachers to do this leisure-time activity. The last part deals with possibilities of cultivation of listening experiences which are connected with children and youth in their leisure time.
