Implementation procedures of editors during the preparation news reports on ČT24 during a coronavirus pandemic

The diploma thesis deals with changes in routines of the daily news editor in ČT24 news channel. It focuses in particular on the changes in the work of news reporters and editors in connection with the spread of a new type of coronavirus in the first half of 2020. In the first part presents a basic definition of news reporting, focusing in particular on television news. It then looks at the introduction of the new type of coronavirus and the start of the global pandemic. The methodology part is devoted to defining the aim of the thesis and the research questions. The empirical part offers the characteristics of the news station ČT24. It describes the circumstances of its creation, the program scheme and introduces the editor of the daily news. It defines his position and working practices during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. To do this, it uses the method of observation and informal interviews with nine Czech Television news staff members as part of a qualitative investigation. The analytical part presents a content analysis of selected news reports during the period under study. Finally, the author summarises and discusses her findings.
Progress of broadcasting of breaking news CT24 (2013-2018)

This bachelor thesis The development of breaking news broadcasting on CT24 from 2013 to 2020 defines the basic areas of breaking news broadcasting, which in recent years has occupied an increasingly dominant position in the broadcasting of CT24. Through semi- structured interviews with members of the CT24 newsroom, it provides a behind-the-scenes look at the CT24 special broadcast, characterizes the structure of the special broadcast and stimulates changes in 2013. In the determined interval, the work seeks the development of individual elements, such as the transition from continuous broadcasting to special broadcasting, content and dramaturgy, the role of moderators, the selection of guests or footage of the special broadcasting itself. At the end of the work, he brings a comprehensive view of the development of extraordinary broadcasting on CT24 and outlines its characteristic elements. The main method of material processing was semi-structured interviews and qualitative content analysis.
Typology of series and programming structure of continuous broadcasting CT24

Typologie pořadu a programová struktura kontinuálního vysílání ČT24 Sára Klepáčová Annotation The aim of this thesis is to define and analyze one of the TV shows of the ČT24 news station - Studio ČT24. It is a specific type of continuous broadcast delivered by ČT24 to the viewers, as the only one in Czech republic, every day - seven days a week. In its way it is also unique among the TV shows of european public service media. Theoretical part deals with standart procedures in news broadcasting, starting with acquiring the information and its incorporation into the broadcasting script. This part contains factual notes provided by the ČT 24 news broadcast deputy editor-in-chief František Lutonský. Research aims on the structure of the show itself, particularly on the content, by means of the quantitative content analysis. It demonstrates the structure and composition of the continuous broadcast of the ČT24 news station on the sample of four whole weeks choosed from four programme periods. It also aims on the changes of broadcast composition in case of extraordinary event. in context of the viewership.
Editing news by anchormen of the Studio ČT24 programme

This thesis is focused on the position of anchors in Czech television's newsroom and on the way they use their experience in broadcasting. Nowadays, the job of news anchor in public service TV stations no longer only consists of reading a script off of a teleprompter. It is required to show knowledge during two-hour broadcasting section. Following Bachelor thesis evaluate degree of adaptation of headlines and leads as well as degree of following the broadcasting scenario through in-depth interviews with chosen anchors of Studio ČT24 programme. The issue will be illustrated with exaples of parts of ČT24 broadcasting from the spring 2018 - the author will evaluate how anchors can do interviews (primarily in person, additionally over the phone). Public service media place high demands on anchors and the interviews will reveal anchors' general overview and preparation. Last but not least, the thesis focuses on naturalness of anchors' presentation. It also looks at anchors' ability to improvise and to handle unexpected situations. The aim of the thesis is to discover how big impact the anchor has on the final form of broadcasting, which parts are directed by him.
Moderation of news sessions on ČT 24

This work deals with moderation of news programmes on ČT24 in years 2005 - 2010. First we try to sum up history of news broadcast on Czech television and also to tell something about beginning of continual broadcasting in 2005. This type of broadcasting came with new elements to news broadcast and it also significantly affected the work of anchormans. In next part we define the role of anchorman in news broadcasting. Differences between anchorman and quite simmilar jobs as host, reporter or commentator are shown. In the work the means of moderator's communication are defined - verbal and especially nonverbal. Analysis of using this means is content of practical part of work. . We use iVysílání of Czech television for practical research, specifically period 24.5.2010 - 28.5.2010. Forenoon part of broadcasting is analyzed. There is news broadcast every thirty minutes. Items of news are short, catchy and very often we can see changing of news genres - report, interview, read peace of news. This mixing of genres is typical for continual broadcast. We check in analyse if anchormans use nonverbal communication in continual broadcast.
Shootings in Uherský Brod and its news coverage in the broadcast of CT24

The thesis deals with the phenomenon called breaking news in a continuous broadcast of news stations. It consists of theoretical and practical part. The main aim of the theoretical part is to describe the specifics of television news and their transformation caused by the introduction of continuous broadcast. In this context, the technical means used in Czech TV that allow the audience to watch the news live will be described in detail. The main aim of the practical part is to describe the mentioned phenomenon in connection with a specific event - the shootings in Uhersky Brod in February 2015. The main attention of the quantitative research will be focused on the continuous broadcast of CT24 on 24th February 2015 in order to obtain relevant results, which will illustrate the proportion of the information related to the shooting in the CT24 broadcast.
