New electrode structures for alkaline accumulators

Master´s thesis is focused on development of electrodes used in alcaline accumulators, by using new kinds of materials and compounds. Basic possitive eletrode was made of nickel, on this electrode were applied new layers of Ni(OH)2 by using the method called electrodeposition. For electrodeposition was used solution with Ni(NO3)2 in diverse concentrations. Later on, this material was enriched with aluminium admixtures to increase stability of alfa modification in Ni(OH)2. These concentrations were measured and analysed in diagrams. For measurement was used device Biologic. The diagrams were commented with recommendations for production use in accumulators.

Technology of emulsion polymerization

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of technological parameters on the emulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with n butyl acrylate. The theoretical part contains knowledge in the field of influences of proces tempereture, concentration of initiator, concentration of emulsifier, stirring rate and dose rate on emulsion polymerization. In the experimental part was observed effect of the concentration of the ionic emulsifier, nonionic emulsifier, furthemore was observed effect of stirring speed and the concentration of initiator K2S2O8 on conversion of copolymerization. During all copolymerizations, conversions was determinated via solids content evaluation. By dynamic light scattering was determinated and presented polymer particle size of the prepared emulsions. Stability of emuldions was observed via effect of different ionic strenght and yield of freeze thaw cycles coalescence. Based on experimental results were proposed conditions of polyacrylic lattex preparation.

Practical part deals with developing of board for measuring concentration of CO2 and software solution.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out by measuring the production of carbon dioxide that man produces in various types of physical activity. Using the model, the goal is to simulate real carbon dioxide production for a type object and to design a way of automatic regulation, air supply and drainage to obtain better indoor environment (represented by carbon dioxide).

Bachelor’s thesis deals with the possibilities of measurement and test immissions on the medical workplace. It acquaints with the gasses immissions occurring mainly on the surgery. It is focused on possible ways of detection. The Bachelor’s thesis describes techniques of detection offered by companies Brüel & Kjaer and LumaSense Technologies. For comparison, there is given the possibility of detection by Geotechnical Instruments. The final section is dedicated to system of measurement air immissions on the medical workplace, especially to surgery.

Properties of electrode materials for alcaline accumulators

The Bachelor´s Thesis is aimed at the problematic of the binders, that effects the features of the positive electrode of alcalic accumulators. The additive used on nickel´s electrode was cobalt. In the practical part of this thesis there is described a process for etching the nickel electrode and the following electrodepositions applied on these electrodes. Measurements of different concentrations of nickel and cobalt were examined and analysed in the graphs which are part of this thesis. There have been made comments of these graphs and the conclusions and observations as well.

Pharmaceuticals in drinking water and their removal

This bachelor thesis focuses on the presence of pharmaceuticals in drinking water and their effective removal. The first part of the thesis describes in detail the pathway by which pharmaceuticals enter surface waters that can serve as a source for drinking water. In the Czech Republic, these are sources of drinking water for Prague and its surroundings. Because filtration, flocculation/coagulation is not efficient enough, it removes only 20% of the drugs such as ibalgin, carbamazepine, naproxen and diclofenac. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement drinking water treatment plants with other processes such as adsorption on activated carbon, which removes up to 98%, ozonation and advanced oxidation processes, with an efficiency of up to 99%, and UV/chlorine removes up to 80% of pharmaceuticals. I found that monitoring of pharmaceuticals in drinking water is not systematic and there is a lack of setting of possible limits. The Želivka water treatment plant was found to carry out tests for pharmaceuticals only once a year, which I consider insufficient. I think that it is advisable to carry out more frequent analyses of medicines in drinking water in order to have a continuous overview of the situation. Media Law and Media Capture in Slovakia and the Czech Republic after the year 2000

This dissertation connects theories and notions of media and democracy, oligarchization of media, media capture, and media systems with the economic theory of competition law. Slovak and Czech media laws are analyzed in a comparative legal analysis. Pluralism as the core value in all of the above-mentioned theories is researched. Novel historical periodization of the 1989 - 2020 era is proposed, as these 30 years are framed as a permanent transition of the media system of three distinct types. The Herfindahl-Hirschman index proves that the Slovak and Czech media markets are concentrated or oligopolistic, and this trend was strengthened in the last decade of the examined era. The new tool, the Power of Media Owners (POMO) indicator, is invented to show the strength of media oligarchs across platforms. This proves inefficacy of the cross-media ownership regulations, and it is used to measure the level of media capture. Fourth model of media systems, the non-pluralist authoritarian Eastern Oligarchic Captured model is described and the situation in Slovakia and Czech Republic is compared to it, concluding that both examined countries are in fact closer to more established Polarized Pluralist Mediterranean model, which is framed as a half-way to the Eastern model.
