The Effect of Facilitating Kinesio Taping of lower scapula fixators on pain threshold of trigger points in the m. trapezius pars descendens
Bahenská, Eva ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Name: The Effect of Facilitating Kinesio Taping of lower scapula fixators on pain threshold of trigger points in the m. trapezius pars descendens Objectives: This study is a pilot study. The goal of this study is to determine effects of Facilitating Kinesio Taping of lower scapula fixators on painfulness of trigger points in the m. trapezius pars descendens. Methods: The study took place in a private medical office with thirteen patients. All of these patients were physically examined using standard tests of physiotherapy. Patients were measured using a pressure algometer to assess trigger points as painful. They reported the intensity of pain on VAS. The places of measurement were trigger points one and two in the muscle according Travell and Simons. Data were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS 15.0 and Microsoft Office Excel. Results: This study had three hypotheses. In the case of the first hypothesis, I concluded that KT has an effect on the pain threshold and its application will reduce the pain threshold in m.trapezius pars descendens. Statistical significance was the value of p = 0.03 and p = 0.011, the value of material significance (101.31 kPa and 106.7 kPa) confirmed my theory that after KT will increase the pressure of 100 kPa in the TrP1 and TrP2. In the second hypothesis, it...
The objectification of using of kinesio taping to influence a muscle tone in epicondylitis
Rosenmüllerová, Lenka ; Šifta, Petr (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
Title The objectification of using of kinesio taping to influence a muscle tone in epicondylitis. Objectives The aim of this master thesis is to find an effect of inhibitive kinesiotape application to muscle tone of hypertonic m. extensor digitorum communis and to pain of lateral epicondyl in lateral epicondylitis. Method The master thesis is divided to theoretical part and empirical research, which is based on the first part. The evaluation of m. extensor digitorum communis tension after kinesiotape application is provided by myotonometry method. The measurement is performed in 5 tested persons before and after two-day kinesio tape application. The questionaire Numeric pain rating scale helps to find a change of pain before and after kinesio tape application and then the dependence of pain to muscle tone change. Results The myotonometer measurement found a decrease of m. extensor digitorum communis tension for 4 from 5 tested persons after two-day application. The pain of lateral epicondyl was reduced for all probands. Keywords lateral epicondylitis, tennis elbow, muscle tone, kinesio taping, myotonometer
Critical evaluation of taping methods with focus on its effects
Šolcová, Veronika ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Critical evaluation of taping methods with focus on its effects. Objectives: Purpose of this diploma thesis is critical evaluation of taping methods with concentration on its effects. Evaluation, comparison of contradictory statements and obtained information will be done based on a study and analysis of literature and scientific studies regarding taping methods and its efficiencies. On this base, final conclusions about real efficiency of taping will be made. Methods: In this diploma thesis, which is a critical review, document studies method will be used, along with analysis of professional scientific sources and their comparison. Results: The sport tapes (solid and elastic) and the kinesio tapes may participate on the possible mechanisms of the taping method effect. The various kinds of the tapes are different in the consequences of its effects. For lack of good scientific studies we can not clearly objectify the method of the taping. Keywords: taping, taping methods, taping efficiency, knesio taping, benefits of taping, prevention, critical review, proprioception, scars.
Physiotherapeutic Techniques in Shoulder Joint Instability using Kinesio Taping Method
PELEŠKOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of physiotherapeutic techniques in shoulder joint instability using the Kinesio Taping Method. It is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part you can find a chapter dealing with anatomy of the shoulder, biomechanics, kinesiology and instability itself, its types, possible causes, symptoms and treatment including the possibility of conservative as well as operative therapies. The second practical part focuses on various examinations, methods that can be used. There are also the results of the qualitative research which was based on casuistries. I examined four patients at the age range from 21 to 30. The patients underwent an in-and-out kinesiological analysis, a therapy where I tried to find suitable methods for stabilization of the shoulder joint. I also made a long term rehabilitation plan. The first goal of my thesis was to verify the effects of the chosen physiotherapy. The second goal was to prove the suitability of the therapeutic method Kinesio? Taping into therapy. The question of the research was if the planned therapy can improve the shoulder joint instability in case of the chosen patients. Improvement was reached in all cases, however it was not striking. The biggest factor was the cooperation during the therapy, especially the excercises at home. Each person preferred different exercises and different types of Kinesio Taping methods. This thesis can be used in the physiotherapeutic practices and as educational material for patients switch this diagnosis.
The Effect of Kinesiotaping on Pain Threshold Alteration of Lower Limbs and Pelvis in Latin American Sport Dance Couples
Černocká, Michaela ; Prokešová, Michaela (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
Title: The Effect of Kinesiotaping on Pain Threshold Alteration of Lower Limbs and Pelvis in Latin American Sport Dance Couples Objectives: The aim of this study is to monitor the alteration of the pain threshold in predilective points of lower limbs and pelvis during loaded regime and to compare these changes with the control group with no kinesio tape. Methods: This experimental study employs intervention of kinesio tape applied to inhibit m. gastrocnemius medialis et lateralis and for mechanical correction of hallux valgus. There were five couples in experimental group and five couples in control group. The pain threshold change was objectivised by pressure algometer. Results: The measured data showed that the kinesiotaping has a positive influence on pain threshold in sport dance couples. In most dancers (9 out of 10) kinesio tape contributed to increasing or smaller decreasing of pain threshold with respect to the other lower limb. In comparison with the control group, pain threshold of dancers in the experimental group increased or decreased less even despite acute or subacute injury of the taped lower limb. One more finding is that the postural function has an influence on the pain threshold change after load. Pain threshold had a downward tendency in investigated persons with a worse...
