The Sufferings of Prince Sternenhoch from the Point of View of Ladislav Klima's own Philosophy
Tichá, Veronika ; Heczková, Libuše (advisor) ; Vojtěch, Daniel (referee)
This work deals with the most famous novel, the Suffering of Prince Sternenhoch, of one of the most controversial Czech authors of first half of 20th century, Ladislav Klima, namely in terms of Klíma's philosophical approach to his literary work and life in general. We derived from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, whose ideas inspired Klima in many ways. We are comparing the story of love and hate to the theater (David Jařab - first performance at the Divadlo Komedie, Praha 2007) and film (Jan Němec - In the Heat of the Royal Love 1990) adaptation and we are trying to find traces of his doctrine of solipsism and egodeism there, especially in style, composition and main characters. Greater focus was put on the character of Helga, because she represents the most of Klíma's philosophical views. Necessarily, we have touched on the question of will, authority, and the afterlife. Keywords: F. Nietzsche, higher / lower people, solipsism, egodeism, ludibrionism, afterlife, hallucinations, femme fatale
Neurobiology of visual hallucinations.
Dodoková, Alica ; Vejmola, Čestmír (advisor) ; Hejnová, Lucie (referee)
Hallucination is a clinically significant qualitative disorder of perception that can be characterized as a sensation without a proper physical stimulus. Visual hallucinations are among the most serious symptoms in a range of psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, or Lewy body dementia, but can also occur during drug intoxication or under normal physiological conditions. Based on visual image processing principles and higher thalamocortical circuits, several recent explanations of the visual hallucinations phenomenon are summarized in this thesis. Although there may be many possible causes, the most important are neurobiological disorders of the inhibition processes in the cortical areas of visual association, lesions in the brain stem cores and thus the malfunctioning of the reticular activation system, neurochemical dysregulation on the thalamic sensory interface, or dysfunction of the recurrent top-down and bottom-up mechanism. There are several theoretical models summarizing the mentioned aberrations (Perception and Attention Deficit, Bayesian Heruism), which provide a more comprehensive overview of the issue of visual hallucinations. Further research and unification of individual models could provide new possibilities for diagnosis and treatment of visual...

The Imagination as a Link Between Dream and Art
MOLÍKOVÁ, Veronika
Where is the area, in which dream and art unite and in which they mingle situated, and, on the contrary, where is the borderline between them? What do our inner images mean for us? Is the imagination a link of artistic creation and dreaming? If we admit this, can we consider dreaming as a form of art, as an intentionally focussed activity inside us? The form of art with its proper author-recipient, with denying its servitude? Could we achieve an aesthetic attitude to a figure, to a construct, when its fundamentals cannot be revealed? Or is that consideration absolutely misled? Besides those consideration, some people confirm, that dreams are too elusive to be judged But works of art are not? And is not the solution hidden in spaces of our consciousness? The fusion of dream and art becomes the topic of the following lines.
The schizophrenic in social - cultural level with influence in art and reception of the world
Brichcínová, Markéta ; Hnilica, Karel (advisor) ; Matějů, Martin (referee)
This work is focused on schizophrenia, one of the most serious diseases that affects human's life in all its parts. I submit the summary of information about the causes leading to the disease. I answer the questions how to treat schizophrenia and why it affects the patient's life in such a high extent. The work summarizes the different views on the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia in the past and in the present. I wonder how society views a mentally ill person nowadays. I focus on the artistic expression of people with schizophrenia, which is characteristic for them. I answer the question about how much the disease affects their creating and why it is so obsessive for them to create. I wonder if the genius is linked with madness.

Psychopathological symptoms of psychosis - schizophrenia
SAHAJOVÁ, Ludmila
The work deals with the lives of people with mental illness - schizophrenia and opportunities that contribute to improving or maintaining their current health status. The theoretical part includes the characteristics of psychotic illness, legal protection of patients, possible treatment and aftercare. The practical part describes and compares three selected services or facilities. This is the Horizon Zlín, therapeutic workshops Kotva Strážnice and day service center Uherské Hradiště - Jarošov. It also includes assessment of the importance of individual therapeutic activities with clients focusing on the reduction of recurrent symptoms of schizophrenia and pointing out the importance of aftercare services and improving the facilities that this follow-up care for people with schizophrenic disorders are provided. A major benefit would be the establishment of other centers, care centers and therapeutic workshops offering services already mentioned, which would benefit not only for patients, their families, but also for the general public.
