Bilateral asymmetry of lower limb strength abilities in young snowboardcross athletes
Bohůnková, Marie ; Hank, Mikuláš (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out the relationships between the performance of strength skills of the dominant and non-dominant lower limbs with respect to the preferred side of riding in snowboarders of different sexes at the racing level. Elite and sub-elite level snowboarders aged 19.16 ± 4.63 years (11 females and 9 males) participated in testing the isokinetic force in the knee joint and the isometric force in the hip joint. Data collection of isokinetic parameters of flexion strength and extension in the knee joint was performed on a Cybex Humac Norm isokinetic dynamometer (Cybex NORM®, Humac, CA, USA). Collection of isometric parameters of abduction force and adduction in the hip joint was performed by the ForceFrame systémem system (Vald Performance, Australia). The position on the snowboard affected the bilateral asymmetry of force in favor (p <0.05) of the dominant limb (front on the snowboard) in some parameters. The magnitude of the isokinetic force between the dominant and non-dominant limbs differed significantly (p <0.05) at extension in the male group, but not in the female group. Significance difference (p <0.05) was found for flexion only for male group. The dominant lower limb achieved a significantly higher (p <0.05) value of the isometric force of abduction in the...

Tomsová, Tereza ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Holá, Bohdana (referee)
The Czech Republic has subscribed to fulfil the conclusions of the Fourth World Conference about Women held in Beijing in 1995. The state therefore took upon itself the obligations to address and resolve issues of equality between men and women. During the period of the 21st century gender equality has became one of the major issues being in the centre of attention of the Government, ministries and other state organs. The data and information divided by gender are collected, analyzed and presented by the Czech Statistical Office in gender statistics. The main objective of this thesis is, by using the available data statistics, to compare the status of men and women in selected areas, and with help of the concerned economic and social indicators, to map the situation and developments in the Czech society in the 21st century. In other word to find out where and to what extent the gender differences mainly occur. The analytical part of the thesis then investigates whether there have been any more significant after-shift, change, or development of selected indicators of gender statistics during the 21 century and, if so, in which analyzed area, what gender and to what extent.
