Celts and their influence on modern European cultures

The diploma thesis Celts and their influence on modern European cultures engages in Celtic nations, describes their history and presents remainders of Celtic culture in modern cultures. The thesis is focused on the influence of the Celts on the French region of Brittany and the Czech Republic. It mainly describes the heritage of the Celtic culture in the contemporary society in the form of Druidism, feasts, perception of nature and other traditions. It aims to create a complex image of the Celtic civilization. The second objective of the thesis is to confirm or refute the original connection of the modern Celtic cultural elements on a historical culture of the Celts. It achieves these aims on the basis of analysis, synthesis and subsequent comparison of obtained information about historical and contemporary Celts. The diploma thesis comes to the conclusion that all studied cultural elements have a real historical basis, but most of them, in their modern form, are created artificially. Nevertheless this fact does not detract from the importance of the cultural heritage of the Celts. Psalm 118 in the New Testament

Title: Psalm 118 in The New Testament Author: Tomáš Zavadil Department: Department of The New Testament Supervisor: doc. Jiří Mrázek, Th.D. Abstract: The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the usage of the Psalm 118 in The New Testament. The thesis consists of several parts; first, I give a list of all quotations and allusions of the psalm in The New Testament according to the edition Nestle-Aland. Next, I show links between the texts, describe how the original text enriches the meaning of the new contexts and how the intertextuality can be used in biblistic research. In contrast to traditional approach I emphasize the contribution of one-word allusions. I'm also trying to offer historical background of the Psalm and show its use in liturgy, especially in the context of the first century; as the Psalm was one of the most favourite Psalms. The following part of my work gives brief explanations of the passages in The New Testament where their authors quote or refer to the the Psalm 118. I focus especially on pericopes Mk 11,1-11 and Mk 12,1-12, where I analyze the allusions of the Psalm 118 in detail. The conclusion summarizes all findings of this exegetic work. Bear in Finnish Folk Literature

ENGLISH SUMMARY This bachelor thesis deals with the theme of the bear in Finnish folk poetry and folk traditions. The first part of thesis introduces zoological characteristics of the bear, its occurrence in Finland and the etymology of different bear names in Finnish language. On the background of the overall cultural and historical development of Finnish society thesis presents people's relationship towards the bear in particular time periods. The focus of this thesis is to analyze myths dealing with birth of the bear and poems focusing on theme of the bear feasts. The key literature sources for this analysis are poems collected in Finland and Karelia, available in internet archives of Finnish literature society and collection of finnish folk poetry by Elias Lönnrot, The Kalevala. Folk verbal art in the context of ethnolinguistics and its function in teaching Czech as a second language

Subject of the Diploma is a use of folktexts in Czech courses for foreigners. An education material draft is being submitted, based on communication approach to language teaching, connects language and socialcultural dimension through. Submitted education material is a calendar like that defines four seasons in the Czech Republic through their attributes, i. e. their essential characteristics, in the folktexts included, and supported by the folktexts also explains appropriate rituals, feasts and concepts of the seasons. All texts and information of the education material draft are chosen or adapted with respect to communication needs of the foreign language students and in order to introduce concepts and knowledge of the Czech geography, culture and cultural history.

The influence of folk culture, traditions and customs to children education and their application in dramatic education

The thesis presents the infuence of folk culture to children education. Theoretical part presents history of relate tradions of folk culture with basic part of folk. There is also summary and description of several traditions, customs and feast through the folk year. The second part devote of tradition folk culture in school education and leisure education in present and in historical changes of schools. Practical part attempts find possibility application of tradition folk culture in dramatic education. Creative project gets acquainted children with history and meaning customs called "Openin the well". Aim of project is motivate members of folk dance group to practise and present of this custom.
