Determinants of application of experiential education at Czech basic school

Hanková This thesis focuses on the experiential pedagogy about the implementation of personal and social education. The research aims to investigate and describe the determinants of the experiential pedagogy, particularly about the didactical thinking of group teachers who plan and implement teaching personal and social education in a Czech basic school. The theoretical grounds of this current study are based on the extensive comparison of heterogenous terminology of experiential pedagogy, general didactics, and didactics of personal and social education. This study adopts the qualitative research paradigm with multiple-case- studies research design. The data have been gathered from thematic writing and focus group interviews which were analysed by the content analysis method with the support of axial analysis. The analysis of didactical thinking is concerned with the objective and the experience as a means of learning and reflection and revealed that teachers determine their didactical thinking and practice by the knowledge of the group and individuals concerning psychological safety. Attitudes of UK FTVS students to summer camps for children

Title: Attitudes of UK FTVS students to summer camps for children Objectives: The main aim of this work is to find out what was benefit of children 's camps for UK FTVS students and what they are currently attitude. Methods: The research was divided into two parts. In part A I used the method of questioning followed by analysis. In testing were 175 participants. I interviewed students of the Charles University FTVS and it took period from June 2018 to July 2019. The data were subsequently evaluated using classical statistical methods and interpreted by graphs and frequency tables. Part B conducted semi-structured interviews with 9 probands who were selected as a representative sample based on Part A interviews. The data were evaluated by basic statistical methods, exactly by using the frequency table and Likert's scaling method to determine the level of attitudes among respondents. Results: In part A we find out that only 7% of the individuals in the sample had never participated in a children's summer camp. It was also found that fourteen respondents of the whole sample had a negative attitude to the camps, equivalent is 8%. Participants of one or two camps reported a negative attitude in 28% (ten of twenty six). In the second group, three to six camps, it was 5% of cases (three of fifty three)....

John Dewey: Experience and Education

This thesis deals with terms like experience and experiential learning in publications by John Dewey. The aim of this thesis is to find out how John Dewey works with issues of experiential learning. The thesis is structured in six main chapters. Each chapter is relevant to one Dewey´s book, which is related to experiential learning theory. In the first chapter, there are general thoughts of experiential learning from Experience and Nature. In the second chapter, Art as Experience is analysed, in which Dewey researches experience connected with art and aesthetics. The third chapter presents an analysis of The Child and The Curriculum, focused on curriculum from the point of experimental learning. The fourth chapter is concerned with The School and Society, in which there are obvious thoughts of experiential learning from educational and social perspective. The fifth chapter is based on Democracy and Education, where John Dewey thinks about experiential learning and its consequences for an individual in democratic society. Last chapter analyses Experience and Education, which sums up and complements the previous publications.

Developing environmental sensitivity through the fine art

The thesis is focused on searching for the ways, how to develop environmental sensitivity through the fine art, specifically painting or drawing and work with own body. Author strives about how to perceive own everyday surroundings more sensitively, to experience own presence in it more deeply and also to be able to rationally reflect own experience. This should make in a man personal relationship to the environment and stimulate pro-environmental behavior. The work is directed through theoretical excursion to the issue and author's art research to development the art method that author applies in his art-experiential action.
