Europeanization of the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic: NGOs dealing with the integration of children from institutional care

In the international arena, European integration and globalization are becoming increasingly significant trends to which the Czech Republic must adapt by creating new international and supranational institutional and organizational structures. The Czech Republic's accession to the European Union and the process of Europeanization have opened up new opportunities and challenges for NGOs, which play a significant role in the participation of civil society in the European space. However, although Europeanization puts pressure on the political systems of EU member states, it is still unclear whether there is convergence between the member states, as empirical studies suggest that domestic changes tend to use alternative mechanisms. This diplomathesis deals with the impact of Europeanization on non-govermental organizations (NGOs) focused on integrating children from institutional care into society. The thesis explores the challenges and opportunities that arise with European integration for these actors and seeks to determine whether accessing EU funds provides sufficient motivation for the examined NPOs to Europeanize. Bilingual schools and European projects

The theme of this dissertation thesis is the relation of bilingual education and educational projects aimed at European issues. The research part was conducted at bilingual upper secondary schools in the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain (Wales). In the thesis the themes such as European politics, intercultural dialogue, international peace, human rights, humanitarian aid and language education are primarily included into European issues. The empirical research was deliberately realized at bilingual schools, where the instruction is delivered throught the medium of two languages. With regard to this fact a frequent participation at educational projects with European focus (European projects) was anticipated at these schools. European projects are often interconnected with the laguage studies. In recent years education projects have been an important part of the curriculum in Czech, German and British environment and they play a vital role in education context. The projects enrich the bilingual instruction from both methodical and content perspective and enable launching cooperation between schools and other partner institutions. Bosniak political elites between Europe and Islam (1990-2008)

Following diploma thesis is focused on the position of Islam in the politics of Bosnian Muslims alias Bosniaks. It examines the period from the first multiparty elections to the declaration of independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and war till the process of europeization in the 21st century. The author of this thesis is focused on the revival of Islam in society and politics in this time period of modern history after forty years of communist rule. Due to nationalism of all ex- Yugoslav nations becoming acute this process of revival was followed by radicalization and signs of extremism. Islam was also used in politics and tightly connected with it exactly in the spirit of older Bosniak ideological concepts. The presentation of these tendencies is the content of the first part of diploma thesis. In the second part the author is focused on activation of the policy of western democracies and International Communities which subsequently rolled back the influence of Islamic countries on Bosniak political leaders. In the survey of postwar development is also introduced the Office of High Representative of UN and its essential influence on the laicization of Bosniak politics resulting to disappearance of radical displays of Islamization.
