Pavlová, Pavlína ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to critically examine the impact of the EU membership on the economic diplomacy of Slovak Republic. The research is based on the analysis of strategic documents of economic diplomacy of SR and official statements of its main representatives. The analytical part of this thesis was preceded by a theoretical section that explained and fixed the meaning of the terms such as Europeanisation and economic diplomacy. This was followed by a short introduction to the economic diplomacy of SR. In the selected documents, the changes in terms of the economic diplomacy of SR were examined on three different levels. Firstly, the exploration of the strategic level of the economic diplomacy was conducted, which elucidated the trends of the development of the economic diplomacy. Subsequently, the tasks of the economic diplomacy were clarified. Last but not least, the pressure on the institutional changes in the organisation of the country's representatives of the economic diplomacy was monitored. The thesis examined changes in the selected areas in chronological order with the emphasis on the period of the EU membership of SR. The impacts of the Europeanisation of the economic diplomacy of SR were tracked on the basis of the typology introduced by Tanja Börzel. As a result of this...
On its way to membership? EU-Moldova relations after the Association Agreement
Kráľová, Diana ; Martinková, Viera (advisor) ; Földes, Kristián (referee)
The European Union is one of the most significant international actors whose institutional character and specific conduct of foreign policy make it an interesting object of study. It creates robust policies and programmes to frame relations with both the Member States, as well as with neighbouring countries. The European Neighbourhood Policy, and the Eastern Partnership specifically, is one such example. Even though the ENP was formally designed as a policy of non - membership, the communication of the EU's stance tends to refrain from framing it that way. Consequently, this creates a situation in which the neighbouring state continues to aspire to become a member of the EU, despite lack of reform progress, in hope of a "membership delay". The thesis addresses this discrepancy on the example of the relationship between the EU and the Republic of Moldova after the signature of the Association Agreement by interpreting its development and by assessing how the EU uses its normative power to Europeanize Moldova. Keywords Normative power, Europeanization, EU-enlargement, the European Union, the Republic of Moldova
Environmental policy of the European Union and its impact on the environmental policy of the Slovak Republic
Kozáková, Tamara ; Karlas, Jan (advisor) ; Knutelská, Viera (referee)
This diploma thesis entitled "Environmental policy of the European Union and its impact on the environmental policy of the Slovak Republic" targets the environmental policy of these two entities, focusing on a specific area, namely waste management. Despite the fact that environmental policy did not belong to the original agenda of the European Union during its creation, today, due to the gradual development characterized in the first part of the work, the EU is a prominent player in this field. In other parts of the work we describe how Slovakia has gradually undergone a progressive change, ie Europeanization, through its involvement in EU policies. Based on the membership of the Slovak Republic in the European Union since 2004, the Slovak Republic has obligations and commitments, which shows the significant influence of the European Union, and thus the existing environmental policies of the Member States are no longer politically or legally separated from EU environmental policy. In addition to the goal of providing a comprehensive overview of the development of environmental policy of the both European Union and the Slovak Republic since its formation, the main goal is to analyze the implementation of waste management in the form of Framework Directive 2008/98 / EC on waste. This goal is based...

Europeanisation of Criminal Law
Oravcová, Martina ; Herczeg, Jiří (advisor) ; Gřivna, Tomáš (referee)
Europeanisation of Criminal Law Summary Throught the use of common adaptation of the basic principles of criminal law in the european dimension there is a possibility to remove an opacity and inefficiency of individual national and international instruments of criminal law so far. This effort can be the best observed in the procedures of the European Community or European Union. It should all happen by harmonizing laws and strengthening cooperation between the European Union member states. Integration of criminal law is pointed to be done in three main directions. First, it affects substantive criminal law by harmonizing particular merits of criminal offences. Second, it already affected criminal procedure by achieving mutual recognition of judicial decisions. The third way of integration is the institutional framework for judicial cooperation in criminal matters, followed-up by institutions of criminal cooperation. Criminal law as a public law is closely related to the state sovereignty. This fact, even today, suspends the opportunity to create sort of unified system of transnational criminal law within the European Union. Moreover, the very concept of criminal law is not clearly established in European law as it is in Czech law. For example, it includes even different illegal dealings than regular...
