Hostitelská péče u dětí s nařízenou ústavní výchovou
DEJOVÁ, Natálie
The aim of my diploma thesis was to map the experience of employees of children's homes and further of children's homes with a school and host care. The partial goals were to find out the benefits and risks of the implementation of host care for children with compulsory institutional education. The theoretical part explained in detail the principle of functioning of social and legal protection of children in host care, the system of institutional and substitute host care, differences in the life of a child in a children's home and children's home with a school and the principle of host care. In the practical part, the results of my research were clearly processed, and the research question was answered, which was focused on the view of the workers of children's homes and children's homes with a school and host care. Partial research questions found out what positives and what negatives host care can have for children with compulsory institutional education. A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research of this thesis and questioning with the technique of semi-structured interview was chosen as the method. The data analysis was performed by the clustering method. Subsequently, two other methods were used; the method of simple enumeration and the method of contrasts and comparisons. The research files were selected by deliberate selection. The research group consisted of 5 principals, 3 social workers and 5 educators of children's homes and children's homes with a school meeting the selection criteria. My research shows that the experience of host care is for all workers positive, even though everyone is aware of certain risks that host care entails. However, they agreed that the positives of host care prevailed. The main benefit of host care, as can be deduced from my research, is the possibility for the child to see and experience the functioning of a normal family within host care. The main risk of host care may include disproportionate attachment of the child to the host provider or vice versa and the associated disappointment of the child or host providers. The results of my research will serve as acknowledgment to all employees of institutional facilities who participated in my research, and the brochure created, will also serve to increase the awareness of people who are interested in this issue.

The work deals with suitability of children's homes and foster care. It is considered based on their abilities to fulfil psychological needs of children and minors. In addition, the work deals with the possible way of these two forms of substitutional care on affecting mental development of their wards. Children's home, foster care and their historical evolution up to the present form in our country are described in the first half of this work. Furthermore, the term family and parenthood and their possible forms in the past and present are described. Children's and minors' needs, particularities of individual development phases in childhood and maturing, are described in this work as well. The suitability of children's homes and foster care, based on opinions of the authors of professional publications and ideas of professional public, are mentioned in the second part of the work. In conclusion, a part of this work commits to the way electronic mass media deal with this issue and which point of view they transfer to the non-professional public. The main result of the diploma thesis is that these three groups predominantly prefer the foster care to children's home. Primarily for the reason of real family environment which, unlike the children's home, the foster care can provide. Despite this fact, these groups are aware of the necessity of children's homes which, in some cases, could be a more convenient alternative to a birth family.

Formation of attachment in children living in children's home
Králíková, Lucie ; Junková, Vendula (referee) ; Rezková, Vlasta (referee)
9 ABSTRACT One of a child's basic psychological needs is the need for a stabile emotional bond. The theses researches if the children from private children's home Radost are able to establish such specific emotional bonds to the carers employed there. The Czech Radost children's home follows principles and guidelines established by a well know German children's home. This German facility places emphasis on nurturing the emotional bonds of children, and as such differs considerably from classic state institutions. The underlying assumption is that given the right conditions and support, children have a high chance to create specific emotional bonds. In order to gain the necessary data it was chosen the method of qualitative evaluation with participant observation as the prevailing research strategy. The data are triangulated with some other methods including: semi-structured interviews, analysis of file documentation and a modified version "Test of Family Relationships" (Kovařík, 1993). The data analysis is enriched with knowledge and experiences from two other children's homes abroad, where saturation of psychological needs of children is a priority (Danish and German model). The research is a continuation of the diploma theses (Zemánková, 2003), where the question of specific emotional bonds was examined...
