Factors affecting wages in the Czech Republic
Voleman, Jakub ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
This paper aims to explain the factors that affect wages and its size. Analytical method for this explanation is Mincerian's earnings function and its extensions and variations, estimated using the metod of generalized least squares. These earnings functions are constructed from the data of the labor market of the Czech Republic, specifically from the statistical survey of the Information System on Average Earnings of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Czech republic. The main finding of this work is that an additional year of education leads to an increase in worker's wages by about 8%, so education is one of the factors on which wages depend. Other factors may also be practical worker, age or gender. The results show the estimated function of the fact that women in the Czech Republic are wages by 15 to 20% less than men. Also a great impact on wages is fact that the worker is at work at a managerial position or not.
Challenges for CIO
Kouřimský, Vlastimil ; Benáčanová, Helena (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the chosen current trends of ICT. The CIO represents the crucial person of the whole thesis. The aim of the thesis is to describe and comment on the connection of the role of the CIO with trends and challenges he/she has to face in recent times. To fulfill this aim it is necessary to realize the current trends through the integration of surveys of the renowned companies dealing with the ICT market. The field overhang of these studies dedicated to technologies is essential. The benefit of the thesis consists of the connection of the business and ICT at the CIO level. The abstraction from technical specifications of the particular trend as well as from the managerial point of view creates an image of the challenges for the CIO in the company context. The introductory part of the thesis reflects the position of ICT in companies and creates an image of the internal connection of the company as a whole. The core of the main part of the thesis contains chapters dedicated to the trends in particular: data analysis, content analysis, social business, big data, ICT security and education. Each of these main chapters describes the current state of the ICT field and its role in the company context. The last part of each main chapter deals with the benefit and the role of the CIO for the mentioned field. CIO's influence on the challenge, allies and possible risks of the trend are mentioned. At the end of the thesis the benefit of the CIO for the company and his/her role of facing challenges which come from the ICT field are evaluated. CIO plays an important role as a responsible person for particular challenges. Nevertheless, as it is apparent from the thesis, the CIO is not the only important part of the system that is necessary to create the maximum from each challenge.

Němečková, Ilona ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Chytil, Zdeněk (referee)
This work analysis the influence of a number of siblings and their birth order on educational attainment in Czech Republic expressed by reading literacy and average grade. Using the weighted least squares method and data-set based on survey PISA 2009, was found a negative sibling size effect. Nevertheless this effect became significant in families with four or more children. Furthermore, it seems to be better a relatively older, but this effect was significant only in the case of reading literacy. Other variables concerning socio-economic status were found significant too.
Impact of education on long-term economic growth and pension system deficits
Münich, Daniel ; Ondko, Peter ; Straka, Jan
Long-term economic growth has a significant impact on the quality of life in a country. The education of its citizens is an important factor influencing the growth. Nevertheless, the relationship between economic growth and education is very long-term and not apparent at the first glance. However, this long-term relation can be illuminated with the help of quantitative projections. For this purpose, we use empirical estimates presented in the recent OECD report by Erik Hanushek and Ludger Woessmann. If the Czech Republic puts in place educational reform that leads to the increase of average cognitive skill level of 15 year old pupils (as measured by PISA survey) by a mere 25 points - hence only a fourth of the standard deviation, GDP in the current value is estimated to cumulatively increase by 12 trillion CZK over the next 80 years, thus 357 percent of the current annual GDP of the country. Unfortunately, the decrease in average cognitive skills levels that took place in the Czech Republic in the last decade leads to a similar GDP loss. If we were able to improve the average cognitive skills levels to Finnish standards, the additional production would even reach 707% of today’s GDP. If the average cognitive skills levels of the children of parents without high school degrees could be brought up to the level of those whose parents have high school degrees, it would increase production by 152% of the current GDP. The potential benefits recalculated in terms of annual budget exceed the current state budget deficit or budget for education. Finally, the higher GDP growth would significantly reduce the cumulated pension deficit.
The doctor and nurse cooperation in the center for patients undergoing a principal joint aloplasty
RAZIMOVÁ, Lada
Motoric system diseases belong to the most frequent ones in the present days. All age categories are affected. Congenital defects are included and also injuries, inflammations, degenerative illnesses and others. In the Czech republic are many centers gathering patients with the same diseases. However the centers for orthopedic patients are missing. The dissertation is divided into a theoretic and empiric parts. The theoretic one is focused generally on problems with joint replacements, rehabilitation and relation between a medic and a patient. The dissertation was targeted on: 1. To verify if the informing about the subsequent postop nursing care provided in the center for patients undergoing aloplasty comes up to a patient?s expectations and fulfils their needs. 2. To find out if hospital nurses perceive the difference in the patient engagement in the nursing care according to if he had visited the center before or not. 3. To reveal potential problems in the center running from the patient, nurse and doctor point of view. The research part of the dissertation was implemented with a combination of both qualitative and quantitative survey. For quantitative survey was chosen a method of questioning with a form technique for patients (after a hip or a knee aloplasty) in the Czech republic and Austria and also for nurses working in the orthopedic department and intensive care unit in the Pelhřimov hospital. Three hypotheses were established. 1. The given nursing care informations provided in the center for patients undergoing aloplasties fulfil the patient?s needs. 2. The hospital nurses assess a significant difference in the patient?s collaboration between those who had visited the center before and who had not. 3. In the center for patients waiting for aloplasty daily running there exist problems from the nurse?s point of view. As for the qualitative part of survey a method of questioning with the technique of a semistructured dialog with open questions was used. The research file was created by patients after principal joints aloplasties. In this part we have tried to answer three main questions. 1. What is the relationship between both hospital and the center nurse activities and the patient?s contentment in the sphere of his needs? 2. What sorts of informations for the patients in the center are missing? 3. The patients evaluate the informations provided in the center as orientational or as significant for easier postop care managing? The results of the research survey were analysed and taken in schemes. Patients suffer from disturbing their both physical and psychological needs and so the goal of collaboration is a satisfied and fully informed patient. From the results it is apparent that a nurse in the center closely cooperates with a hospital nurse. The survey revealed that the patients in the center are missing no informations. The patients are prepared for the operation, orient themselves in the related problems know what comes with the rehabilitation as an important part of the postop care. To be concluded: patients are prepared for easier postop care managing. On the basis of analysis of respondent?s answers it was found that the patients undergoing a principal joint aloplasty are sufficiently informed. Although hospital nurses and doctors sense the difference between a patient who had visited the center before and who had not the stimulus for subsequent survey could be how the patients perceive the differentness of info provided within the center and out of it. The survey results could be a stimulus for establishing new centers not only within Vysočina but also in Austria. In the relation with the dissertation results and on the basis of info provided in the center when the patients assessed the info as sufficient for them an informing prospectus was created. The dissertation could serve as an informational material for students not only in the nursing profession.
The use of the concept of basal stimulation in special primary school
SIEBENSTICHOVÁ, Pavla
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of the Basic Stimulation concept at special primary schools, i.e. schools serving for children suffering from serious forms of mental disability, in combination with potential other disabilities. The basic stimulation concept was created by the German special pedagogue Prof. Andreas Fröhlich in the 1970s, for the education of pupils suffering from serious mental or combined disabilities, at special schools. It was applied in nursing by Prof. Christel Binstein in the 1980s. In this area it also used in the Czech Republic for the first time at the beginning of this century, thanks to PhDr. Karolína Friedlová.The objective of this bachelor thesis was to find out in which way basic stimulation may be used at special primary schools and how it can be incorporated into the education programme. In accordance with this objective, my thesis contains a definition of the basic terms, a brief historical outline of the development of basic stimulation and its theoretical foundations, and subsequently the particular techniques that the concept makes use of. The most essential passage is the theoretical definition of possibilities of applying the concept in the special pedagogical practice, particularly at special primary schools. This part is completed with three case studies that present the real application possibilities of the basic stimulation concept at three special primary schools in scope of the whole Czech Republic.
