Commuting and Its Impact on the Transportation Demand

The bachelor thesis is focused on commuting in Strakonice. The aim is to evaluate the impact of commuting on the transportation demand based on the economic activity, the time spent travelling to work and the mean of transport e. g. cars, bikes, public transport. The thesis is focused on analyzing a data from the database software called Bisnode Albertina, also a data from the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic concerning the traffic intensity on the access roads to Strakonice and a data collected from companies which participated in the 2019 survey. Parking possibilities in the town are discussed and at the end a short proposition to improve current situation related to traffic is given.
Commuting to work by transport mode choice: changes in the main transport modes, depending on a distance on the example of two regional capitals in 2001 and 2011

The main goal of this work is to evaluate changing significance of main travel modes in two regional capitals between two censuses. The work is based on 2001 and 2011 censuses results. The work is also based on assumption, that there has been a change in travel mode choice within commuting to work due to economic boom (2003-2008) and economic crisis (2008-2010) in the Czech Republic. It means especially growing role of individual automobile travel and declining importance of public transport. The research also focuses on changes of distances, in which the travel modes are mainly used. The basic statistical and cartographic methods are used for the evaluation. The results confirm growing importance of automobile travel at expense of other means of transport, especially bus travel. Both cities are characterised by an importance of railway travel higher than nationwide average. The railway travel maintains its importance especially along the main railway corridors. The average distance of travel has grown in all evaluated means of transport. Despite that, all means of transport achieve in 2011 their maximum share in same distance categories as they did in 2001.
Transport behavior of Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant employees and their motivation to move closer to workplace

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of transport behavior of eployees of Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant employees and their economic migration. The power plant is situated on the border of the Vysocina Region and the South Moravian Region. It is an important employer in terms of lowering unemployment especially in the Trebic region. The main aims of this bachelor thesis are identification parameters of mobility behavior for the reason of commuting to work and finding the limits of willingness to move closer to the place of work. Identification of transport behavior is mainly based on choosing conveyance, which depends on individual economic conditions. Furthermore, it is linked to the accessibility of an area of person's residence and to the number of his or her family members. The data obtained from the questionnaires survey were analyzed and compared with the literature. At the end of the thesis, all the procedures and results of this work are evaluated and another possible extension of work is proposed. Regional impact on unemployment at the hypothetical closure of Temelín and Dukovany nuclear power plants

This Behelor´s thesis deals with closure of nuclear power plants Temelín and Dukovany. The most important topic is regional unemployment cause this closure. Main goal this thesis is to find out whether closure will only influence the regions in which the power plants operate or other regions. The theoretical part contains basic concepts related to topics such as unemployment, migration or energy. The practical part analyzes data from the Czech Statistical Office related to commuting and interviews with the representatives of each of the power plants. Based on this analysis, it can be said that the closure would affect most of the regions in which the power plants are located. In the case of power plant Dukovany closure affect region from another region. In the case of power plant Temelín closure affect only region in which operate.

Geographical aspects of commuting to work in Jindřichův Hradec district comparison of 1991 and 2011

The thesis describes changes in commuting to work in the Jindřichův Hradec district between years 1991 and 2011. The aim of this thesis is the geographical analysis that is focused on the development of geographic aspect of commuting to work and to describe and evaluation of changes in commuting to work the ongoing between the censuses of 1991 and 2011 in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. The analysis includes processing of socio - geographic regionalization that is based on commuting to work (definition centres and belonging area), definition commuting hinterland of Jindřichův Hradec district based on commuting to work, comparing commuting regions with the definition of regions of municipalities with extended competence and authorized municipal offices, the next is synthesis of the issues, a comprehensive valorisation and comparison of the results of the observed period.
Daily Spatial Mobility of the Residents of Bystrice nad Pernstejnem Region: the Analysis of Selected Processes and Their Geographical Determinants

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the topic of everyday spatial mobility in Bystrice nad Perstejnem, to the analysis of selected processes and their geographical determinants. It is focused on the analysis of the data on the spatial mobility of local residents by means of household saving in characteristically different areas. The main purpose of this research is to identify main forms, objectives, reasons and ways of population mobility and searching for their geographical determinants.
Analysis of commuting to work in the Central Bohemia Region in selected years in the period 2001-2011

The aim of this work is to evaluate the trend of commuting to work in the Central Bohemia Region in selected years in the period 2001 - 2011, each of the years that are analyzed are selected on the basis of availability of statistics in the CSO or professional studies related to this issue. The theoretical part contains definitions of key terms associated with migration and commuting to work, calculation of migration balance and brief description of the Central Bohemia Region, which includes a description of the socio-economic and demographic situation in the region. The content of the second chapter is the analysis of commuting to work in the Central Bohemia Region. At the end of this chapter the results of the analysis are summarized, the main directions of commuting in the period are identified and the future development of commuting to work in the Central Bohemia Region is estimated. The work was based on data from the Czech Statistical Office Population and Housing Census and Labour Force Survey. The methods that were used in the work are analysis and comparison.
