Stereoscopic sensor for distance measurement
Vavroš, Ondřej ; Hasmanda, Martin (referee) ; Říha, Kamil (advisor)
This master's thesis will take us through theoretical procedure that allows us to determine the distance of an object by stereoscopic sensor. Part of this work presents the description of the steps to achieve image of objects, calibraton and rectification. At the next part our study provides an overview of algortihms for creating disparity maps and determining the distance of the object from sensor. In the following part of thesis deals with the implementation of these processes into aplication which aim is to measure the distance.
Dopady finanční krize na konvergenci administrativních oblastí Itálie
Vetýšková, Nela
Vetýšková, N. Effects of the financial crisis on the convergence of administrative regions of Italy. Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The diploma thesis examines the influence of the financial and economic crisis of 2008-2009 on the convergence of the Italian regions defined at the NUTS 2 level. Trends in the convergence of the regions are identified using beta analysis of cross-sectional and panel data and sigma analysis. The results show that in the period before the crisis (1995-2008) convergent forces prevailed, and after the crisis (2009-2018) the trend reversed, and the regions diverged. Cluster analysis for the years 2005 and 2012, confirmed the division of Italy into a more "advanced" north and a "backward" south. The development of individual regions over time is also described using important macroeconomic indicators, such as the gross domestic product, the level of education, the unemployment rate, the average monthly wage and the share of industry in the gross added value.
Differentiable Depth Estimation for Bin Picking
Černý, Marek ; Klusáček, David (advisor) ; Šikudová, Elena (referee)
The goal of this thesis was to investigate the neural 3D surface reconstruction from multiple views with the intent to use the resulting depth maps for bin picking. Survey of papers from 2014 to 2018 showed that none of the state of the art methods would be used to control a robot arm in our setup. Therefore we decided to create our low-level neural approach which we called the EmfNet. The network is based on a pyramidal resolution refining approach. At each pyramid's layer, there are three separate networks that take part in the computation. Each of them has a definite goal, which gives us almost complete understanding of what is going on inside the network. The EmfNet model was partially usable, but we nevertheless extended it to EmfNet-v2. First, another measuring layer was added, which freed EmfNet from depending on an unnecessary hyperparameter. Second, we used constraints on geometry for the network not to be confused by occlusions (cases where a certain part of the surface is visible only from a single camera). Both networks were implemented and tested on a corpus that was created as a part of this thesis. A corpus containing rendered as well as real data. The process of correspondence pairing inside the network can be observed using the visualization tool. We designed a way how to use a robotic arm...
Geometric morphometrics of diatom frustules.
Hubáčková, Kateřina ; Kulichová, Jana (advisor) ; Pichrtová, Martina (referee)
This bachelor thesis includes a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I focused problematic parts of research of diatoms biology. I will discuss morphology of specific silica scale and its morphogenesis; life cycle, characteristic by the size diminution in vegetative phasis, and conception of taxonomy of these organisms which is rather complicated because of unclear species concept. Another part presents tools of geometric morphometrics which is rapidly developing method for investigation and quantification of biological shape. In the practical part, I present the results from own research. This experiment is preliminary study for diploma thesis and its purpose is to appropriate tools of geometric morphometrics and to present advantages of its methods. I will investigate morphological disparity of three strains of pennate diatoms cultivated in standard conditions studied by landmark methos. The aim of this study is to discover if small cells which have gone trough the long phasis of vegetative multiplication and are close to the sexual reproduction have diferent degree of morphological variability than the bigger ones just undergone by sexual process.
Znevýhodněná území Jihomoravského kraje dle vybraných demografických a socioekonomických ukazatelů
Fischerová, Barbora
Fischerova, B. Disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators. Diploma theses, Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The subject of the diploma theses is evaluation situation in the disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators in the years 2005 till 2015. In this timeframe the indicators of population trends, economic load index/economic dependence index, level of entrepreneurial activity and unemployment rate are being analyzed in more detail and a comparison of individual territories within South Moravian Region is made. On the basis of the identification of the intra-regional differences of the South Moravian Region, four administrative districts of the municipality have been selected (in particular SO ORP Hodonín, Kyjov, Moravský Krumlov, Veselí nad Moravou) to examined in detail according to the same indicators and for the same time period. The analysis shows that four selected disadvantaged areas implement the characteristics of the peripherals and thus fall into the problematic areas of the South Moravian Region. In conclusion, therefore, measures are proposed for the development of the particular SO ORP and the integration of disadvantaged areas in order to reduce the regional disparities.

Territory development strategy in relation to construction production
Mecová, Anna ; Chovancová, Jitka (referee) ; Vaňková, Lucie (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with comparison of regions of the Czech Republic between national economy in terms of construction production and selection of region with the greatest potential for development of construction production. In the theoretical part is defined the term region, which is followed by regional economics and politics. Another topic addressed is regional development territorial development strategies and indicators that capture the differences between regions. The practical part deals with the characteristics of the national economy and construction in individual regions, which is folloved by a draft strategy dealing with problems in the field of construction. The last part of the thesis, regions are compared according to the given indicators and the regions with the greatest potential for the development of construction production are indentified.
The Factors Affecting the Low Numbers of Women Working as IT Professionals in Czech Republic
Soumarová, Andrea ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Šanderová, Jadwiga (referee)
The Diploma Thesis "The Factors Affecting the Low Numbers of Women Working as IT Professionals in Czech Republic" does focus on the issue of disproportion of men and women working in IT field in the Czech labor market. The theoretical background reaching up to 1980's is presented on the first pages . I slightly come across the issue of low numbers of women working as IT professionals in the Czech Republic, but I also briefly comment on international findings for solution of this situation. The important part of the text is the description of current situation of the Czech Republic labour market. Last but not least I debate on factors influencing womens decisions when choosing future profession and what stops them from choosing the information technology field. Part of the thesis is also survey which provides detailed information of the experience of women working as IT professionals in Czech Republic. The theoretical point of the thesis is the gender concept, according to this concept the skills and abilities of women and men aren't biologically given as we often stereotype, but they are formed socially.

Disparity Map Estimation from Stereo Image
Tábi, Roman ; Maršík, Lukáš (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
The master thesis focuses on disparity map estimation using convolutional neural network. It discusses the problem of using convolutional neural networks for image comparison and disparity computation from stereo image as well as existing approaches of solutions for given problem. It also proposes and implements system that consists of convolutional neural network that measures the similarity between two image patches, and filtering and smoothing methods to improve the result disparity map. Experiments and results show, that the most quality disparity maps are computed using CNN on input patches with the size of 9x9 pixels combined with matching cost agregation and correction algorithm and bilateral filter.
