Mareček, Petr ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of ensuring the Quality of Service (QoS) in data networks. The first part is theoretical, where is described QoS technology and her mechanisms. At the end of the theoretical part, possible queuing systems are shortly presented. The second part of the thesis deals with the design and implementation of a laboratory exercise with the aim of proving theoretical knowledge and evaluating the suitability of a certain queuing system according to the provided services.

Kiška, Martin ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This work deals with creating a reliable corporate network and its variety capabilities against loops and supporting QoS on link and network layer. On the basis of theoretical knowledge is designed an experimental network in the laboratory of Institute of Telecommunications composed of several computers, VoIP pohones, switches and routers. Functinonal network is then tested to failure of individual nodes and the impact on network traffic. In another part of this bachelor thesis this network is tested using different QoS support options.

The aim of this work is to explore and describe possibilities of the network simulator OMNeT++, to create a user guide using this knowledge and make three tasks for computer exercise. In the first part, the principle and functionality of OMNeT++ are described theoretically, there are possibilities and area of focus. User guide can be used for basic understanding of the system. There is a description of the environment, the file composition and the basic operations. Individual tasks are focused on implementing technology DiffServ, RIP and OSPF. The goal of student is to assemble a simulation and learn basic functions of OMNeT++ and then evaluate the results.
Administration and configuration of simplified database QoS MIB
Macura, Miroslav ; Matocha, Tomáš (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The main aim of this work was to study the issue of the SNMP protocol and MIB database in order to focus on management and configuration of MIB database using the SNMP protocol. The Master's thesis in detail describes especially creating a communications model of the Manager - Agent type in an OPNET Modeler. In this modeling tool we created exchange of information from the side of the Manager to the side of the Agent via SNMP packets. The Master's thesis is mainly focused on the creation of the SNMP packet according to defined rules, then on reading of information from the MIB database on the side of the Agent and saves this information to the Manager’s MIB database. Exchange of informations is realized via the messages of type GetRequest, GetNext and GetResponse. These models are programmed in language C/C++ and then implemented into the environment of OPNET Modeler.
Fault recovery in data networks
Trávníček, Michal ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mácha, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis was to explain the basic principles and technologies for ensuring reliable and effective routing within networks when a link failure. This is with minimal effect to the quality of service. The focus was on mechanisms ensuring the quality of services within the network, especially differentiated services and the both groups of dynamic routing protocols – distance vectors and link state protocols. On the basis of obtained knowledge, the simulation has been designed in OPNET Modeler. It simulated routing of routing protocols RIP and OSPF of networks without any failure. The next simulations containted the link failure and the link recovery. Then the network with DiffServ was designed. It filtered data packets according to used ports and protocol and it added a label to packet with a priority for the certain service. The attention in the network was focused on the VoIP service and its parameters, such as jitter and end-to-end delay. It has also monitored the value of dropped traffic. It simulated the networks with the link failure and the link recovery. The results were compared to the network with no QoS and network with QoS but no failure.
Quality of services in IP Telephony in Wirelass Networks
Slavíček, Tomáš ; Kyselák, Martin (referee) ; Vyoral, Josef (advisor)
The thesis deals with the principles of assurance quality of services in IP networks. The first part of the thesis describes specifications which are required by current applications for data network, and also illustrates the methods suitable for solving those requirements. The most attention is given to multimedia service VoIP whose development has not been finished from far. That theoretical knowledge implies in the second part of the thesis which analyzes the implementation of assurance QoS for the service VoIP within the standard 802.11, or more precisely, for wireless networks in general. The simulation of wireless networks within the program Opnet Modeler and the attest of the ability to assure QoS within both wireless networks and their limitations with an unswitched network are described in the next step. The current possibilities how to build up WLAN with the bearing QoS are sized up in conclusion.
QoS simulation model in NS2
Balej, Jiří ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is described fundamental principle of IPTV and all the necessary conditions for high-quality video and audio signal. In reference is the recommendation of DSL Forum TR-126, where are summarized QoS parameters for IPTV. There is the explanation of Triple play service as a combined distribution of television, telephone and high-speed Internet. In one chapter are presented methods for asssure Quality of Service (QoS). There are described the method of Integrated services and especially Differentiated services. It explains a function of edge and core routers in Differentiated services. Methods for random early detection (RED) a scheduling are described too. The aim of this thesis was to create two laboratory tasks in the Network Simulator 2. The first lab simulates VoIP traffic in data network and assure QoS for VoIP. In the second lab is a simulated the network with Triple play service and the goal is to assure the recommended parameters for IPTV. To resolve the aim of this work, was needed to study the function of Network Simulator 2 and focus on settings for Differentiated services.
Configuration of QoS in IP network using Cisco devices
Brož, Kamil ; Šporik, Jan (referee) ; Růčka, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is divided into two main sections. The first, theoretical section, deals with parameters and requirements of modern real-time applications. This project analyses the particular means of providing QoS. It deals with access in a form of integrated services (IntServ) and with newer access in a form of differentiated services (DiffServ). The chapter covering the Integrated services describes the very basic principles of the problematics. Differentiated services and used algorithms are discussed in detail. The second, practical section, describes the capabilities of Cisco devices and their particular implementation in two designed network scenarios including traffic measurement and user experience tests.
Possibilities of QoS algorithms simulation and optimization
Charvát, Ondřej ; Číka, Petr (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with problematics of data transmission control in converged networks which is implemented there to offer telecommunication services in desired quality. Theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of measurable parameters and lists factors by which they are affected. It discusses different levels of services offered and finally techniques used for it's provisioning as they are implemented in network appliances. In practical part a model of network with QoS implementation is constructed in simulation software Simulink. There are several traffic flows running in the simulated network which has different demands on transfer quality such as telephony or bulky file transfer. There is graphical user interface programmed in Matlab enviroment by which it is possible to alter QoS settings in the model and observe effect on achieved parameters of running data transfers. All simulation results are also displayed on the user interface. User may set all parameters manualy or let the software optimize settings according to prefered criterion, i.e. packet loss. In such way model demonstrates how changes in QoS configuratinon affects quality of services being transferred. The whole model is constructed in a way to be easily reconfigured in case of future use. It is possible for expample to add more traffic or to extend the model to larger network by using predefined blocks.
Service quality support in WLAN networks
Mizera, Josef ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is focused on wireless networks WiFi and the transmission of multimedia using these networks. It discusses the connection of telecommunication and data networks, their common use for transfer of data in real time, particularly through wireless transmission medium using standards IEEE 802.11. It describes individual standards 802.11, mainly 802.11e on which is this bachelor´s thesis focused. The second part of the work is focused on designing the networks for measuring to verify the functionality of service quality support in the tested networks.
