Content of this bachelor thesis deals with gold and diamonds and its various forms of investments. Bachelor thesis contains an analysis of past and present evolution of commodity price and creating possible evolution of the price in future. Re-comendations for potential investors are supposed to become the main prupose of the thesis. In the first section, gold and diamonds are described in general and as an investing instrument as well. It contains factors that can infuence their price and options of investing in gold and diamonds. The second part consists of describing evolution of gold and diamond price.
Legal aspects of the trade in conflict diamonds

The objective of this diploma thesis is to explain trade in conflict diamonds and to assess international fight against this illegal trade. The primary objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of the current legislation (international and national level), for example by comparative analysis of the different legislation in selected countries. The aim of this thesis is also to identify the significant historical changes to the regulatory framework and to assess the Kimberley Process and the mechanisms in diamond trade. The aim is also to identify the role of nongovernmental organizations in the Kimberley Process (development of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme) or in the resolution of conflicts. This thesis consists of six chapters. The second chapter is dedicated to the general characteristics of diamonds and aspects of international diamond trade. The third chapter has an aim to describe conflict diamonds and conflicts financed by illegal diamond trade. The fourth and fifth chapter deals exclusively with fight against the trade in conflict diamonds. Conflict diamonds, or so called blood diamonds, are still a very serious global problem and each state should develop and implement the right legal measures in this area in order to substantially reduce this illegal trade.
Communication of luxury jewellery brands with a focus on the brand ALO diamonds

The bachelor thesis "Communication of luxury jewellery brands with a focus on the brand ALO diamonds" analyses the marketing communication of the brand ALO diamonds and compares it with rival brands on the Czech market, in terms of visual merchandising and visuals used in campaigns. Firstly, the thesis defines diamonds, including the criteria of their grading, their mining and processing, characteristics of the market with a focus on De Beers company and its marketing history. Afterwards, the thesis discusses the specifics of luxury and luxury jewellery market, focusing on the brand ALO diamonds and its competition (Cartier, Chopard, Roberto Coin, Tiffany & Co. and Lia Halada) and their USPs. Then it describes the communication of the brand ALO diamonds and its marketing activities from 2008 to 2013. The paper describes visual merchandising based on mystery shopping - the description focuses on internal and external environment of each boutique of luxury jewellery brands with an emphasis on emotions that are evoked in customers during their visit in the point of sale, and also common features of luxury in the boutiques. The topic of this bachelor thesis is the global diamond market, its development and its impact on international conflicts. The aim of this thesis is to explore the development of the international diamond market starting from the year 2000, to define the volume and the value of mined diamonds since that time and characterize the biggest countries and corporations, that mine, export and import diamonds. This bachelor thesis defines modern trends and the main characters on the global diamond market and specifies the role of diamonds in international armed conflicts. The first chapter is dedicated to the general characteristics of diamonds. The main goal of the thesis is fulfilled in the second chapter where the international diamond mining industry and the global diamond market were analyzed. The third chapter has an aim to describe the international armed conflicts financed by the illegal diamond trade and to precise their consequences.
De Beers Group of Companies in the market of diamonds

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the position of De Beers in the market of diamonds and to prepare a SWOT analysis for this company. First chapter gives inside to a history of the diamonds, describes how they got to Europe and clarifies the grading of the diamonds - 4C. Second chapter describes situation of the diamond market with a focus on production and retail. Part of this chapter also describes an influence of the world crisis on the diamonds. The core of this thesis is third chapter. This chapter is dedicated to De Beers company. Shortly, it describes history and structure of De Beers and in detail, it deals with the reasons of loss of a monopoly on diamond market, describes position of De Beers in terms of competition, and finishes with SWOT analysis and future strategy of De Beers company.
Analysis of precious metals and diamonds

The main intention of this thesis is the analysis of the factors that influence the precious metals market according to the selected methodology. The secondary intention is the consideration of the posibility to include the commodities traded on the precious metals market in the portfolio of investments. The introductory chapter deals with the listing of the commodities, the most important commodity exchanges and derivatives. The second chapter individually describes the precious metals. The first subsection of the second chapter analyzes the supply and demand for the individual metals. The following subsections focus on the factors that influence the price of the precious metals in history and in present time. The analytical part, which concludes this chapter includes the calculations of correlation coefficients, average growth coefficient and standard deviation of the factors that influence the precious metals. The last chapter of this thesis is dedicated to diamonds and is divided to two major subsections. The first subsection describes the history of the most significant diamonds, the characteristics of diamonds, the types of the deposits and the major producers of diamonds. The second subsection analyzes the prices of natural and synthetic diamonds and the development of profit of the selected company in terms of time. The last chapter deals with investments in diamonds.
Market for precious metals and jewels in Russia

This bachelor thesis focuses on market for precious metals and jewels in Russia. The work consits of 3 section. The first part deals with the ways of investing in gold and compares some of them. The second part analyzes the development of the gold price on the international market and examines the impact of macroeconomic indicators (inflation, interest rate, GDP, exchange rate) on the price of gold in Russia. The last part is devoted to the diamond market, it describes the largest diamond company of Russia and the Russian diamond exchange, tells about the organization of the diamond trade, and also this part deals with the price setting for diamonds in the world and in Russia. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the market with gold and diamonds in the Russian Federation, identify investment opportunities on these markets and understand the principle of price setting for these commodities.
The changes in the localization of the extractive industry and the political consequences.

The bachelor thesis analyzes the global changes in the territorial structure of the extraction of the mineral resources, especially the energy resources and less some precious metals and diamonds and related political consequences. This bachelor thesis describes also the importance of these resources for human society and their deposits. There are also outlined possible future development of the extraction of these resources. The first chapter illustrates general characteristic of the extractive industry. It introduces the ranking of the extractive industry, main mining regions and the biggest producers of some minerals. The second chapter closely presents energy resources, i. e. mining of energy resources, their deposits, their usage and possible future developments. The third chapter focuses on the mineral resources, i. e. their extraction, deposits, usage and possible future trends. The fourth chapter introduces the political consequences related with global changes in the territorial structure of the extraction of the mineral resources.
