Validation of the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire for children aged 6 -10 years in the Czech Republic
Vlasáková, Nikol ; Čepička, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Hana (referee) ; Mess, Filip (referee)
Problem: A specific developmental disorder of motor function affects up to one in 12 people. Neither the prevalence of DCD nor its diagnosis is completely uniform. According to some authors, even given the difficulty of existing tests and test batteries, a "gold standard" for diagnosing DCD is still being sought that would most effectively diagnose its prevalence. In Canada, a standardized screening method, the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ), has been developed as an auxiliary diagnostic tool to help detect DCD in children. It is an exploratory method that uses a questionnaire technique designed primarily for parents and teachers of children to diagnose the prevalence of this disorder. We believe that by using the DCDQ questionnaire, which according to Schoemaker is a "coarse screen" in identifying children with DCD, we will single out children with DCD and suspected DCD. Studies emphasize the importance of early identification of children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), not only as a prevention of secondary academic, emotional, and social manifestations of the disorder. The questionnaire allows screening of children with motor difficulties. The DCDQ has not been validated in the Czech Republic and this is the aim of this study so that it can be used for the...

Homolková, Simona ; Dvořáková, Petra (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
Thesis abstract Name, Surname: Bc. Simona Homolková Supervisor: Mgr. Petra Dvořáková Thesis Title: Occupational Therapy Practise Guidelines Proposal in Children aged 3-18 years with Developmental Coordination Disorder Abstract: Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is a neurodevelopmental condition with a prevalence of 6 % among children in the population. The cause of this condition is unknown, but there are known risk factors, such as very low birth weight or maternal exposure to drugs and alcohol during pregnancy. Symptoms include coordination difficulties, impaired motor learning and planning, executive function challenges, and overall mental health vulnerabilities. Each child exhibits different manifestations, and comprehensive care is required, provided by an interprofessional team, which includes occupational therapists. Occupational therapists should base their practice on high-quality care standards. Just like in medicine, there are currently global trends in occupational therapy towards developing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG), which are still lacking, especially in the field of occupational therapy. CPGs primarily serve to improve and standardize care. The main goal of this work is to create a proposal for clinical practice guidelines in occupational therapy for developmental...
Developmental coordination disorder and use of MABC-2 assessment for evaluation of children 3-10 years old with consideration of term of birth and birth weight.
Ducháčková, Iveta ; Kraus, Josef (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The bachelor thesis entitled "Developmental Coordination Disorder and Use of MABC-2 Assessment for Evaluation of Children 3-10 Years Old with Consideration of Term of Birth and Birth Weight" deals in its theoretical part with the latest knowledge on the prevalence of the condition, possible aetiologies, diagnostic aspects, clinical picture, comorbidities and therapeutic strategies. In the practical part, the motor skills of 52 typical children were assessed using the MABC-2 test. The children were categorized based on their birth term and birth weight, specifically into those born at full term and those born preterm, i.e. before the 37th week. The aim of the practical part was, firstly, to compare the results obtained and, secondly, to determine whether correlations exist between birth term, birth weight, and the MABC-2 test results. While statistically significant correlations were not demonstrated in the tested subjects, noticeable differences in mean values of all three MABC-2 components and the total MABC-2 test score were observed.

Therapeutic approaches aimed at addressing...
Coordination abilities and motor skills of premature children with perinatal load aged between 9-10 and their physiotherapy
Zavadil, Ondřej ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The theoretical part (overview of theoretical knowledge) of the bachelor's thesis will present a research of selected key publications on the topic of premature children. The basic facts, specifics, spectrum of deficits or current care for these children will be described, because with the progress of medicine, the needs of premature children with low birth weight have changed significantly over the last thirty years. The work will focus on the knowledge supporting a comprehensive approach to the treatment of premature babies from the time they leave hospital until adulthood. The theoretical part will also include a description of children's coordination skills in the context of developmental kinesiology up to the period of their school age, together with the theoretical basis for the development of these skills. The bachelor thesis also presents a summary of therapeutic procedures for medical rehabilitation, especially from the point of view of physiotherapy. The practical part of the work consists of testing the level of motor functions of a group of 23 premature children with perinatal load aged 9-10 years with criteria: birth before the 32nd gestational week and birth weight less than 1500 g. From birth, these children are managed by the Centre for Comprehensive Care for Children by Perinatal...

Czinegová, Anna ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
Title: Evaluation of motor skills level of children with clubfoot by the parental questionnaire DCDQ Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate the current level of motor skills of children aged 5 to 15 years with idiopathic clubfoot (IC) using parental questionnaire - The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ). The work also aimed to detect the prevalence of possible dyspraxia in children with pes equinovarus congenitus in the selected age period. The partial goal of the theoretical part of this thesis was to process the issue of idiopathic clubfoot and developmental coordination disorder. Methods: The brief parent questionnaire DCDQ was used for the needs of the research, 8 non-standardized questions were added to this questionnaire. A total number of 49 responders participated in the study. The data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel and mathematical software R. Results: According to the DCDQ, 26,5 % (n = 13) of the responders were identified as to be at risk of motor difficulties. Compared to the prevalence of motorial disorders in the general population (5 - 6 %), a statistically significant difference was found. The results did not show any statistically significant differences related to sex and laterality. The children with risk of DCD performed the worst...
