Retter, Maria ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee)
The effect of female fertility on their employment in the United States between 1987 and 2003 Abstract The master thesis is focused on discovering the relationship between female fertility levels and women's employment in the US based on data from longitudinal surveys, which happened in three waves in 1987-1988, 1992-1994 and 2001-2003, in regards to the demographic trends since the second half of the 20th century. The aim is to examine the existence of a relationship between female fertility and their employment depending on the number of children in the household, their education level, marital status and age. The method of binary and multinomial multiple logistic regression is applied. The result of the analysis is that the women's odds ratio of being employed is statistically significantly affected by the number of children, the age of children present in the household and the level of education in the first and second wave of the survey data set. The women's odds ratio of being employed is also influenced by the women's marital status and age. Another finding is that the women's odds ratio of staying, coming or finding a new job is also affected by the number of new children in the household, the level of education and age. Čermáková, Tereza ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Jelínková, Marie (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the decision-making of families caring for a family member in a senior age focused on the services provided. In my work, I have centred my attention to the problem of demographic aging and the problems of seniors, which are the most common today. Today's demographic trends raise the need to redefine old age and professional care for the elderly. I also analyzed the possibilities of professional help that a senior and his loved ones can use in difficult situations related to the old age. One of the goals of my work is to define demographic aging and estimate its growth in the future. I also analyzed the best forms of social care for the elderly and their possible pitfalls. I have been interested in current statistics on the demand for these services and the extent to which demand is being met. Above all, I have tried to find the best options for families who cannot take care of their senior relative effectively enough and options that would best suit seniors who refuse to move into a nursing home. Today, we can come across many forms of care for the elderly that would be worth mentioning. In my thesis, I have mentioned the most important and most effective ones. Based on in-depth semi-structured interviews with family members caring for the elderly, the work shows...
Analysis of the labor market in the Czech Republic in 2007 - 2015, with a special focus on a group of persons over 50 years
Rejmanová, Martina ; Prudká, Šárka (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the labor market of the Czech Republic in 2007-2015. Due to the current demographic trends, which is characterized by an aging population and associated increase in the number of people older ages in the labor market, the work focuses on a group of persons over 50 years, their position on the Czech labor market and proposes solutions supporting greater involvement of older persons in the labor market, which are in particular support for education, change of social view of older workers, more frequent use of part-time work and state financial support. Firstly, the characteristics and position of older persons on the Czech labor market are described and then the labor market of the CR as a whole is analyzed in comparison with the labor market of persons over 50 years of age. Here the work concludes that the development of the unemployment rate of persons over 50 years of age is quite similar to the development of the general unemployment rate, but despite the many years of experience on the labor market, people over 50 have suffered a long-term higher unemployment rate than the general population, mainly due to lower education, deteriorating health status and personality characteristics related to their age. Another reason is the prolonging retirement age and the period of insurance required to qualify for pension insurance. The state employment policy of the Czech Republic is then analyzed and evaluated. It is appropriately targeted to support the employment of people over 50, which is increasingly used by the European Social Fund. The findings of these chapters are supplemented by a qualitative method of interviews with HR Managers and Labor Office workers.
