Management activities of charge nurse in the intensive care unit

This thesis focuses on the work of charge nurses in intensive care units (ICUs) as first-line managers. The practical part of the thesis aims at assessing the experience with nursing management in day-to-day routine, especially with the management of change introduction, conflict resolution and motivation of employees. It further compares different charge nurses' career beginnings. The second part of the research deals with personal typology of charge nurses. Twenty six ICU charge nurses were included into the study. The results indicate that charge nurses are not being specifically prepared for their job and that they particularly lack any special education in management. They usually solve conflicts either by compromise or via a directive. Most charge nurses intend to introduce changes into daily practice and they perceive changes as positive. Conversely, they describe the attitude of their subordinates towards changes as negative. Charge nurses generally know the motivators of their employees; however, they excessively and inappropriately use praising as motivation tool. Although not standardized and not used generally, a formal evaluation of employees is considered by charge nurses as a possible way to improve motivation. Delegation of Activities at Elementary School Central Management

This bachelor thesis - Delegation of Activities at Elementary School Central Management - deals with school management. It is based on the model of company management, which divides management into three levels. The main attention is paid to middle management, particularly to the methodical authorities at elementary school, respectively to its senior executives; this work traces their status, roles, performed activities, required competencies. The theme of the work is based on the belief that although nowadays headmasters are overburdened with administrative tasks and have difficulty in fulfilling all the aspects and roles that are given to them by the leading functions, delegation of their powers and thus the potential of their teaching staff is not used effectively for various reasons.

anglicky This bachelor thesis -"Delegationof Activitiesat Secondary School Central Management" - deals with school management and its aspects, that are connected with the proces of delegation of competencies as seen from the position of the Secondary school headmaster. Generally, the management is divided into three levels, but in this thesis the main attention is paid to the central management. This thesis focuses on the status, role, competencies and activities of the central management. It also describes the personality of the executive and his influence on central management in the proces of delegation of competencies. Whereas the headmasters today are overburdened with lots of administrative and legislative activities, this thesis tries to provide the instructions how to exploit the potential of the co-workers, who are part of the central management. The research is based on the personal discussions with the teaching staff of the secondary schools. This work may be used as a guideline in the proces of delegation at schools. Delegation of competences in Kindergartens

My bachelor thesis deals with the process of delegating management competences of pedagogical process in kindergartens with one or more detached places of work which form one legal subject. This work is to present the process of delegating, shows its positives as well as negatives and possible risk. It also brings survey of competences which can be delegated to teachers by a headteacher. There are two parts of the thesis, theoretical and a research. The research is based on the analysis of the questionnaire which main aim is to find out who are the competences delegated to. Competencies of deputy director of kindergarden

The bachelor thesis deals with problems of transfer competencies by the kindergarten director to deputy director. This area fundamentally differs in every school and it is dependent on the capacity of the number of children in the school or on the ability of the director competencies to delegate in the different extent but even on the assumption of the deputy director to fulfill these transferred competencies. The transfer of authority and participations for the school management by the deputy director should be in an everyday part of the life in the kindergarten. In the introductory are basically defined management functions and more detailed views are focused on competencies in the generally concept and their delegation. The middle part is concentrated on competencies as an essentials element in the kindergarten management. The last part of thesis is a questionnaire survey and an overview of recommended competencies to delegate the kindergarten deputy director, in the conclusion is a list of used literature and appendices of the bachelor thesis.
In The Report of Czech School Inspection as a Source of Information about Breaking the Rules in the Examples of the Kindergartens

The bachelor's work contains the facts gained during the studium of the school management. It deals with the problems of the abuse of the legal regulations from the part of the headmasters of the kindergartens. The work is focused on the making a map and the description of the most frequent breaking the rules in the connection with the valid legal rules and the Criterions of the evaluation of the educational coditions, process and results published by the Czech School Inspection and authorized by the Ministry of Education. It offers a research of errors and sugests solution how to prevent from them. The corn of the practical part is the analysis of the inspectional reports and searching for the main fields, where the mistakes are made, then summing up and comparison. The target of the work is to sugest how to prevent from the abuse in the management of the kindergartens.
