Master´s thesis is focused on managerial competence issue in travel agency INVIA.CZ, Ltd. This company has recently expanded into new markets in Poland, Hungary and Romania. All these subsidiaries are managed from the Czech parent entity. Aim is to identify how the managers´ competence is influenced by this expansion and to propose an improvement of their managing style.

The main topic of this master thesis is a demonstration and explanation of cultural standards in selected works of twentieth century. In relation to studied field, is the selection of literature oriented towards the czech-german area. The thesis binds together two subjects of the previous studies - the intercultural communication and literature. The second goal of this thesis is to prove, that there is certain correlation across the cultural standards. This thesis consists of three parts. The first one is dedicated to the intercultural communication and its main terms. After that follows a chapter about the cultural standards. In the last part, which could be observed as a practical field, the cultural standard will be analyzed and explained with the examples found in the selected literature.
Firm Culture (Image of Czech Employee in German Speaking Companies)

The thesis deals with specific features of the Czech und German company{\crq}s culture. The thesis is divided into theoretical a practical part. The theoretical part is focused on comparison of cultural standards, on the style of Czech and German communication. It pursues the conventions and emphasizes possible conflicts and methods of solution. The next part introduces the analysis of programs serving the improvement of the intercultural contact und communication. The practical part contains a questionnaire, which includes 50 Czech employees of Siemens Company in the Czech Republic. The questionnaire concentrates on personal experience of the Czech employees with German business partners, on their knowledge of the intercultural contact and it compares the information concerning the cultural standards from the respective literature with the informant{\crq}s answers.
Intercultural aspects of cooperation in an international company. Social psychological approach

The disertation work focuses on currently highly observed issue of intercultural cooperation. Following the change of social situation the topic has become both a practical issue and a subjekt of research study. It compares and analyzes crosscultural and intercultural approach and criticizes both approaches for supporting social stereotypes, especially thein negative aspects. It further emphasizes social psychological aspects of the issue, particularly social perception, social groups, hierarchical structure and organization of joint activities as systemproducing and meaningful source of mutual relationships. Supporting this by own research in ŠKODA AUTO it perceives such perspective as very efficient since it is based on practical experience and it also aims at practical problems. Usage of GPOP in the international research

The theme of the thesis is the use of a questionnaire GPOP (Golden Profiler of Personality) in international research, specifically in the Czech Republic and Switzerland. The theoretical part is devoted to the three basic thematic areas, which are interconnected through the influence of C. G. Jung: cross-cultural comparison of the Czech Republic and Switzerland, Jung's typology, from which GPOP questionnaire derives from and mid-life issues described by Jung as individuation process. The emphasis is placed mainly on various forms of cross- cultural research and cultural standards in both countries on the basis of thereof the results are interpreted. The empirical part includes a detailed description of the questionnaire method and a sample of studied people. It is followed by a quantitative study in which there are statistically compared results of the four basic dimensions GPOP test pro-bands in the Czech Republic and Switzerland. An overview of personality types in individual countries and comparison of personality differences on cross-cultural background comes after. Finally, it assesses the work with GPOP method and its application.

Italian - Czech cultural standards in study and work enviroment and their comparison

The main focus of this thesis is on the cultural standards between the Italians and the Czechs in study and work enviroment. The aim of this thesis is to identify Czech cultural standards from the perspective of the Italians who studied or worked in the Czech Republic. For this purpose, the method of critical incidents which is based on qualitative interviews with Italian respondents was used. The thesis examines the existence of cultural differences between the Czech and Italian study and work enviroment as well a the existence of cultural differences between Italian and Czech culture, particularly in relationship between student and professor and between employee and employer. Besides the research itself, the thesis deals also with the topic of culture, importance of intercultural communication and cultural dimensions and standards. The thesis deals also with the socio - economic analysis of the Czech Republic. At the end of the thesis there are mentioned recommendations for the Italians and the Czechs to facilitate their mutual cooperation in study and work enviroment.
Czech-British cultural standards: comparison of work and business relations

The aim of this thesis is to identify and evaluate cultural standards at workplace and business environment from perspective of Czechs who live or lived in Great Britain or are in long-term work or business relationship with British. The theoretical part deals with culture theory, cultural dimensions and fields of intercultural cooperation. The practical part gives basic socio-economical and historical analysis of Great Britain. The research is conducted according to cultural standards identification method, specifically by in-depth interviews. Cultural standard findings are analyzed on theoretical basis and on socio-economic and historical context of Great Britain. Last, the author gives recommendation to Czechs who plan to work or trade with British.
Comparison of Czech-British and Slovak-British Cultural Standards at Work Environment

The diploma thesis is focused on identification and mutual comparison of Czech-British and Slovak-British cultural standards at work environment. The main goal of the thesis is to define British cultural standards from both sides, from the Czech one and the Slovak one, and then to compare, whether the information from qualitative research corresponds with theoretical assumptions. The next goal is to find out how much different is the view on this topic from the Czech and from the Slovak perspective, if it is different. At the end of the thesis will be proposed a few suggestions, how Czech and Slovak should prepare for a longer staying in the United Kingdom in order to avoid possible cultural misunderstandings.
