First of all, the work should point out the possibilities of activating the non-functioning post-industrial area. The aim is to remove the “wedge” into the center and to bring missing urban activities to the site. For this purpose, I suggest the completion of a city blocks with a housing function, a square with a food market, a city park, and a connection to the surrounding of industrial buildings. The aim is to integrate the site into the city through the completion and rehabilitation of industrial houses. The great creative challenge is to preserve the genius loci of this post-industrial landscape.
Cultural and creative industries in selected sector in the South Bohemia Region
ZUZÁKOVÁ, Eliška
The main subject of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the current state of the cultural and creative industry in the region, to map selected sectors, to identify the subjects and to propose measures that could lead to further development of the region and the sector. In the literature search, I summarized the basic concepts and information by studying and comparing the Czech and foreign literature. Then, in the methodology, I described how I would proceed with the practical part. In the practical part, I mapped the subjects of the book and print sector, found out the current state of affairs in the selected subjects by means of a questionnaire survey, personal interview, and by comparing the knowledge acquired in the theoretical part with the information obtained in practice, and suggested ways of using the potential of this sector for further development. On the basis of the obtained data, I found that in South Bohemia region there is a need to provide better conditions for enterprises in the sector to work and develop. Therefore, using the information obtained, I proposed four ways of solutions that could lead to further development. The first is to create a single platform for information transfer, the second is networking, or industry meetings, the third is to raise awareness about creative vouchers and the last is training for subsidies. These solutions could lead to the improvement of the situation and support of the creative and cultural industries in the South Bohemia region.

Priestor pre kreativitu: Využitie prázdnych priestorov pre kreatívny priemysel
Leitmannová, Andrea
The empty, in other words unused or abandoned spaces with built infrastructure, create a constant and inevitable part of the urban development processes. They are the results of the political, social, cultural or economic changes in the society or are related to the changes in industry or production. The paper shows the current result of a research project aimed to identifying the potential of empty spaces in selected localities in Bratislava and their possible re-use by the creative industry thus generating creative clusters. Based on the analyses of existing creative clusters in other European cities, it illustrates the possibilities of access to their realization within unused spaces or areas with originally different function.

Innovative approach to the mono-city theme.
Zaitseva, Alina ; Campbell, Jan (advisor) ; Černoch, Felix (referee)
My diploma paper deals with the monocities theme. Under monocities there are understood cities with a mono-thematic economy structure. Nowadays there are a lot of issues in the monocities as well as social and economic questions to be solved. At the beginning the term monocity is defined and included into historical connections, an attention is also paid to the future trends. I also tried to offer some proposals how to solve the situtation. An implementation of the creative industry (as specified in detail here) has been chosen as a preferred way out. To understand this subject better, I have also added a concrete example -- an art café project.
