Aistov, Filip
The aim of this paper is to provide complex mapping and description of fair trade area and to show fair trade principles on an example of coffee cultivation and trade in El Salvador. In its first part the paper provides the overview of actual state of the global coffee market, the description of price creation process, value and supply chain and overview of fair trade area. It is followed by research that focuses on coffee cultivation and trade in El Salvador and analysis of Salvadorian production of fair trade coffee. During the research were used primary and secondary data such as outcomes of the interviews with cooperative’s representatives, data provided by Salvadorian coffee council and data published by organizations UN, WTO and ICO. The research confirmed that fair trade can be a suitable certification with benefit especially for smaller producers that produce mainly non-specialty coffee. However, they too must face the uncertain future connected with risky economic policy of the government, uncertain labor market and increasing input prices.

My bachelor's thesis on the topic "The World Coffee Market" divides in three main chapters: "Production and Processing of Coffee", "Analysis of the World Coffee Market" and "Future Development and Prospects on the Coffee Market". The first chapter deals with the origin of coffee, coffee trees, harvesting and processing of coffee with different methods and also with preparing and dining of coffee. The second chapter, which is fundamental chapter of my thesis, analyses the world coffee market. It gives information about the biggest producers and consumers of coffee, International Coffee Organization (ICO) and International Coffee Agreements (ICA). Further are mentioned projects that influence growing, production and coffee trade. It also deals with coffee trade on commodity exchange and development of prices and factors that influence it. In the last chapter I attend to prospects and future development on the coffee market.
