The economic and cultural development of the township of Lhenice in the 19th century

The diploma thesis "The Economic and Cultural Development of the Township of Lhenice in the 19th Century" examines the transformation of life in the township of Lhenice during the so-called long 19th century, a period marked by the beginning of modernity, the industrial revolution, urbanization, the rise of nation states, nationalism and the struggle for national identity, and the ongoing National Revival in the Czech lands. The analysis focuses on key aspects of economic changes, such as changes in agriculture, the development of crafts and industry, and the decline of the market system, as well as on cultural changes, such as the emergence of organised social life or the background to public festivals or other celebrations. The study reveals how the local economy responded to economic development and its challenges and technological advances, how the local community dealt with the gradual institutionalization of poverty and the poverty question in general, and how the whole society was affected by the broader socio-political changes in the Austrian monarchy and the Czech lands. The Legislation of Providing Health Care of Residents in the Czech Lands from 1918- 1966 Thesis deals with the development of the legislation of providing health care of residents in Czech Lands from 1918 to 1966, which was effective only in Bohemia. The introductory chapters are about the legislation since 1848 due to reception of the legislation from the Austria-Hungary (often referred to as the Austro-Hungarian Empire in English-language sources). This inherited legislation is mainly about the right of the domicile, health and social care and public health. The authoress divided this thesis into three main chapters about public health care according to timely periods. The main chapters contain subchapters specializing in specific legislation of the individual components of public health. First chapter is about reception of the health care legislation from the Austria- Hungary, about public health care legislation, health system from the perspective of the administrative law, the legislation of the medical service, about the rights and duties of doctors and patients, and finally about funeral legislation. Poverty and its solution within the social security system

The focus of this bachelor's thesis is the problem of poverty and historical development of its solution in the area of today's Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first part of thesis defines the term "poverty" and describes its types and also the most frequent causations. The second chapter intercepts gradual evolution of the solution to poverty in the Czech area and defines the most important instruments in particular eras. The third part provides a description of the current applicable legislation. The last chapter evaluates this applicable legislation and outlines potential effective changes and amendments. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the applicable legislation and to make an attempt to find and recommend useful changes in current system, taking into consideration the potential use of a former "hometown law".

The Local Paupers Support Association. Reflection of the Paupers in the early 19th century

Diploma Thesis deals with The Local Paupers Support Association that existed at the beginning of the 19th century in Prague. Based on archival sources Diploma Thesis presents main objectives of the above mentioned Association and determines categories of those who received financial and material allowances and benefits from the Association. Historical Demography and Microhistory are the methods used for the study. The first chapters compare how The Buquoy Paupers Association that existed in the south Bohemia and The Local Paupers Support Association in Prague carried out their functions at the end of the 18th century. The study introduces depiction of the Prague Paupers in the 18th century. The Local Paupers Support Association functions are reflected by the analysis of the association charter and the annual reports. The objective is to describe how the paupers were tended at the beginning of the 19th century in the Bohemian area. The other objective is, based on historical evidence analysis, to present a social position of the paupers and their depiction. Last chapter brings microhistorical examples that give the paupers self - reflection.
