Communication with children from children's home through process of creation

This bachelor thesis deals with communication through the process of a creation with children living in institutional care. The thesis draws attention to the issue of mental deprivation in children in the context of the process of creativity, it points to the specifics of artistic creation and therapeutic aspects of work in this stressful environment. It also points out the starting points for the analysis of artistic creation and the characteristic signs of the artistic expression of children in children's home.
Prague Care of Orphans and Abandoned Children in the First Half of the 20th Century

The master thesis investigates the care of orphans and abandoned children paying special attention to how the care was executed in Prague in the 1st half of the 20th century. First, the thesis describes the general development of care of these children and of legislation. It then focuses on Prague social care of children. The orphans and abandoned children could be provided either in foster families (this form of care was more frequent) or in orphanages. Prague children were often placed outside of Prague to the so called family colonies, where the foster families were concentrated and where it was easier to control the quality of care those children attained in foster families. The other option was care in orphanages. Those could be established by the city, by the church or by an independent charity association. For each option I chose one Prague orphanage as an example. I also tried to describe the everyday life in these institutions. The last chapter focuses on the period view on advantages and disadvantages of both forms of care. The aim of the thesis was to have informations about a contemporary system of foster care of children, who can't live in their biological families, and find defects of the contemporary and a upcoming system. The theoretical part of the thesis was focused on a biological and foster families, the history of the institutional care and it's also about all the kinds of the foster care. The thesis gave a list of child care options, but also a historical evolution of the care and the failings of the contemporary system. There are a lot of the failings, very important is a financial deficiency, an inflexibility of the system, no good care of a biological family and a deficiency of foster parents.
Substitute Family Care - The Importance and Benefits of Foster Care

This work is focused on the evaluation and verification of the criteria of success foster care on the basis of their own experience. Affects the overall trend of the development of the child in the context of the family and the wider society. The key theme of this study is, above all, approach the importance and advantages of foster care, or clarify so much discussed questions of education of children in substitute family environment in terms of celospolečenského scale. To achieve the desired outcome here were used not only to their own knowledge and experience, which are processed in the individual kasuistikách, but also the conclusions of the expert examination of pedagogical-psychological counseling and specially-educational centre. The thesis has been processed on the basis of personal long- standing observation and study the behaviour of children in foster care, which are pursued and carried out directly in the family of the author thesis. Total of pattern 8 children, which over time have been adopted into the family of the author, and this was how the children of different sexes, different ethnic origin, different state of health and, not least, of the individual and the sibling group. Presented dissertation thesis deals with mentally disabled adolescents who are partially grown up in children's homes and in children's homes with school. The discussed topic is interdisciplinary and multi-layered. The aim of this thesis is to find out, describe and analyze what fulfils everyday life of adolescents with a mental disability and a marginal condition. The thesis also describes what these adolescents experience, what they encounter with, what they imagine in regards with their own future in the context of their life in children's homes. Multidisciplinary focus of the theoretical part of the thesis approaches adolescence as an evolutionary period in one's life and is based on work of Czech and foreign authors of evolutionary and social psychology. Adolescence is also considered as a period of potential risk connected with behavioural disorders which can cause child's placement in institutional education. The meaning of education is approached not only from the philosophical but also from the theoretical point of view. The thesis also covers the question of current possibilities of adolescents to complete their apprenticeship in a certain field of study. This bachelor thesis investigates care of orphans and abandoned children paying particular attention to Prague institutes for those children. Firstly, this paper describes general development of care of orphans and abandoned children, system of organization of this type of care and some subjects working in the field of care of children. The children could be provided for either in foster families or in institutes. Part of this paper describes those two possibilities and period discussion about advantages and disadvantages of both possibilities. The key topic of the thesis is organization of social care of children in the Prague area and description of selected children's homes and orphanages. The thesis also briefly describes everyday life in institutes: it characterizes inhabitants of institutes, relationship among personel and inmates and way of financing the institutes. Archive materials of particular children's homes and also period specialized literature were the basic sources for the thesis.
