Career development from the organizational perspective

The bachelor thesis introduces a topic of career development in organizational context. The aim of this work was to present the concept of career development from organizational perspective and to outline the contrast between the traditional career and the contemporary career concepts with the new psychological contract taken into consideration. The contemporary view of career also changes the organizational approach towards the career planning and career management of its employees. The major part of the thesis presents the human resources management practices which are or might be used by organizations to support the career development and growth of its employees. The empirical part of the thesis introduces a research design examining the effectivity of a developmental practice, the 360-degree feedback, regarding the job tenure of the workers in the organization. Personal employee development planning

This thesis offers an overview of Personal Employee Development Planning focusing on its objectives and perspectives in current practice. Attention is paid to the employees' personal development in organization, relation between work performance management and personal development planning, main trends in the preparation of plans and the tools and methods used in the creation and realization of development plans. The thesis explores the benefits of personal employee development planning for the organization, and for professional and personal life of employee. The work is focused on defining the areas of the organization's approach to personal employee development, competencies and learning. It analyzes the process of creating personal development plans. The work contains a qualitative analysis of the results of survey conducted in eighteen organizations in the Czech Republic, focused on the use of personal development plans in practice. Design of career plans in the IT and projects department in Česká spořitelna a.s.

The aim of this thesis is to design career plans in the IT and projects department in Česká spořitelna a.s. The theoretical part provides basic background and methodological section describes the methods used in the practical part. The practical part begins with the introduction of Česká spořitelna a.s. and more detailed description of the IT department. The next chapter deals with the description of job positions, starting with current job descriptions and following with job descriptions, which originated from semi-standardized interview with individual managers in the IT department. Next chapter is devoted to the career pyramid, which shows seniority of job positions in the IT department from two perspectives: managerial and expertise. At the end of the practical part, there are designed three career maps for selected positions together with specific methods of developing the required competencies.
Analysis of employee training and development in the organization

The Master's Thesis deals with the education and development of employees in the company OEZ. The aim is to analyze the education system in this organization, find strengths and weaknesses and recommend possible solutions. The component goal is to develop the theoretical basis of this issue, to the extent necessary for subsequent analysis and to conduct a survey among employees of the company, which shows their perception of the functioning of the education system. The theoretical part deals with the various stages of the education system, linked to strategy and to a lesser extent, the legal regulation of educational issues and links to other personnel activities. The practical part contains the characteristics of the company, the analysis phase of the education system in OEZ, evaluation of the functioning of this system from the perspective of its users - employees, a summary of the main strengths and weaknesses and suggestions for possible solutions.
Business applications of typological theories

The main goal of this thesis is to find out how typological theories can benefit human resource management and business overall and to introduce one particular typological theory developed in Russia -- socionics -- to European academic and business community highlighting its peculiarities and advantages. Referring to the purpose of this thesis, case study qualitative research of exploratory nature is applied. Thematic analysis is performed to analyze the study's findings, in which three areas are identified in order to help reaching the goals of this thesis. The thesis offers practicable solutions that can be applied by individuals in matters of career planning and companies in various areas of human resource management and other business spheres to increase the level of efficiency and satisfaction.
