Extraction of Features from the Palm for Identification of Persons

The work deals with the identification of persons using the palm. The specific properties of the skin and blood vessels are used. The response of the skin and blood vessels to electromagnetic radiation is used to capture these properties. Gabor's filter is used to extract skin properties. The LLBP algorithm is used to extract the veins. It uses the Hamming distance, the Euclidean distance and the K-nearest neighbor algorithm to compare properties.
Multifactoral Authentication of Electronic Documents

The aim of the thesis is to provide complete information regarding electronic documents and possibilities of their usage. The focus is concentrated on the area of authentication, which specifies the possibility of obtaining authentication information and describes the authentication processes itself. The diploma thesis also deals with the suggestion of multifactor authentication of electronic documents for the selected company.
Security of Biometric Systems

Hlavním přínosem této práce jsou dva nové přístupy pro zvýšení bezpečnosti biometrických systémů založených na rozpoznávání podle otisků prstů. První přístup je z oblasti testování živosti a znemožňuje použití různých typů falešných otisků prstů a jiných metod oklamání senzoru v průběhu procesu snímání otisků. Tento patentovaný přístup je založen na změně barvy a šířky papilárních linií vlivem přitlačení prstu na skleněný podklad. Výsledná jednotka pro testování živosti může být integrována do optických senzorů.  Druhý přístup je z oblasti standardizace a zvyšuje bezpečnost a interoperabilitu procesů extrakce markantů a porovnání. Pro tyto účely jsem vytvořila metodologii, která stanovuje míry sémantické shody pro extraktory markantů otisků prstů. Markanty nalezené testovanými extraktory jsou porovnávány oproti Ground-Truth markantům získaným pomocí shlukování dat poskytnutých daktyloskopickými experty. Tato navrhovaná metodologie je zahrnuta v navrhovaném dodatku k normě ISO/IEC 29109-2 (Amd. 2 WD4).
Control of Positionable Platform for Eye Centering in Image

Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eyeball and orbit. An ophthalmic device for acquirement and recognition of human eye characteristics was created by researchers from Faculty of Information Technology. This device can be used either for biometric purposes or for medical purposes as a support diagnostic device. To achieve proper functionality, device must be able to adjust platform position in order to align optic camera with patient's eye.  The main focus of this work is to design and implement an algorithm for eye centre localisation based on images of the patient's face. The first part of this thesis describes general methods for eye localisation and proposed solution. To achieve desired accuracy, combination of multiple methods is used with adjusted parameters based on platform's features. The second part describes implementation of proposed solution as well as platform control. Multiple databases were used for training and testing of the algorithm and the third part summarises performed experiments. The proposed algorithm was implemented in the C++ language, using OpenCV library. Accuracy and speed of proposed algorithm are suitable for developed platform. In the end, the results are discussed and further improvements are proposed.
Biometric Recognition of 3D Faces

Diplomová práce byla vypracována na studijním pobytu na "Gjovik University College" v Norsku, a je zpracována v angličtině. Tato práce se zabývá rozpoznáváním 3D obličejů. Je zde popsán obecný biometrický systém a také konkrétní postupy používané při rozpoznávání 2D i 3D obličejů. Následně je navžena metoda pro rozpoznávání 3D obličejů. Algoritmus je vyvíjen a testován pomocí databáze Face Recognition Grand Challenge (FRGC). Během předzpracování jsou nalezeny význačné body v obličeji a následně je trojrozměrný model zarovnán do referenční polohy. Dále jsou vstupní data porovnávána s biometrickými šablonami uloženými v databázi, a to je zajištěno využitím tří základních technik pro rozpoznávání obličejů -- metoda eigenface (PCA), rozpoznávání založené na histogramu obličeje a rozpoznávání založené na anatomických rysech. Nakonec jsou jednotlivé metody spojeny do jednoho systému, jehož celková výsledná výkonnost převyšuje výkonnost jednotlivých použitých technik.
Multibiometric System Combining Iris and Retina

This diploma thesis focuses on multibiometric systems, specifically on biometric fusion. The thesis describes eye biometrics, i.e. recognition based on retina and iris. The key part consists of design and implementation specification of a biometric system based on retina and iris recognition.
Identification of human iris

This bachelor‘s thesis deals with eye iris human identification. The main advantage of eye iris human identification is individuality and accuracy of human eye iris. In the beginnig of this thesis there are described the main biometrics terms. The second part of this work engages theoretical basics of identification system activity and functionality. By using theoretical datas, there is designed and created an aplication in the Matlab simulation program. This aplication is able to creates and then compares the iris human. In the end of this thesis there are a results analysis.
Realization of fingerprint scanner

This master’s thesis deals with the issue of scanning human fingerprints, which is currently very topical and represents the most widespread biometric technology. The theoretical part of the work acquaints the reader with basics of dactyloscopy and biometrics and concerns technologies used for fingerprinting, image preprocessing methods and commercially available contactless optical scanners. The practical part is a realisation of a contactless optical scanner based on a Raspberry Pi minicomputer, implementation of preprocessing algorithms in Python and testing of the device from the perspective of image quality.
Biometric 2D face recognition from camera system placed on a quadrocopter

This Bc. thesis is devoted to face recognization from camera system placed on a quadrocopter. The teoretical part is about the most used methods for detection and face recognition and their comparison. The next part is about motion capturing from quadrocopter. Practical part of thesis is devoted to implementation of algorithms for face detection and recognization by OpenCV library and evaluation of algorithm in respect to distance and angle of quadrocopter due to captured person.
Finger vein biometry

The following work deals with basics of biometrics terms, history of biometrics, and methods of collecting and recognizing human characteristics. The work includes facts about physics, human anatomy and physiology - these elements are necessary for a full understanding of the issue. In order to segment finger vein, a method of pre-processing scanned visual data is devised. A practical part of paper contains a proposal of a device for scanning finger vein using minicomputer Raspberry Pi and its following realization. Database of images is created using realized device and applicability of extracted finger vein for application in biometric systems is discussed.
