Invisible Layers of Settling Dust
Hrúziková, Petra ; Veselá, Lenka (referee) ; Janů, Valentýna (advisor)
The diploma thesis "Invisible Layers of Settling Dust" dissects the myth of cleanliness and dirt together with a parallel of civilization diseases and public health through the medium of household chores and cleaning. The space installation provides a way of thinking about the collective body as a plurality of identity - it counts on the variability of meanings, with processes of disconnecting and reconnecting the collective body always anew. Drawing from the philosophical concepts of many authors, this work offers one of the possibilities of their interpretation in an exhibition space, with its condition being the creation of a unique situation consisting of the presence of bodies shedding the coherence of their own identity and creating temporary micro-identities.

Radical Experience and Thinking of Poetic Inspiration. The Body (without Organs) in Maurice Blanchot's Space of Literature.
Poch, Martin ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
Radical Thinking and Experience of Poetic Inspiration → Abstract Blanchot's radical thinking of writer's experience poses, but do not answer a question of its physical dimension. According to Blanchot, it seems as if the writer's experience was completely unbodied, so that it excludes the possibility of writing and realization of essential speech in the world. Our interpretation of Blanchot's key concepts proceeds with an attempt to solve this problem and present its main consequences. In the last section we operate some of the terms of Deleuze and Guattari - namely becoming, the body without organs - in order to conceive writer's experience as inherently differentiated process in which the body is absent, because - deprived of its organs - it becomes an imperceptible part of assemblage which enters the space of literature.
Collage and its development peripeties with in connection to nontraditional means of expression and artistic techniques
Marxová, Lenka ; Bláha, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Uhl Skřivanová, Věra (referee)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the development and transformation of a collage which overlaps to non-traditional expression means and art techniques. The theoretical part deals with the change of a collage and its peripetials. It presents reflections on what still can be considered a collage, not only in terms of techniques with collages closely related (eg, assemblages, de-collage), but mainly in terms of the individual principles that allow to grasp collage as a concept and to observe it in various domains. The issue of a collage, examined in the theoretical part, is transformed into a thematic serie, which is presented in the form of didactic structures that were implemented in school practice and reflected by the teachers. The artistic part depicts an author's project using one of the presented collage principles - joining of individual components into the resulting whole. The project, among other things, deals with the question of whether it is possible to construct an identity of a certain place using visual records of different participants separate pages of the book. Key words: collage, assemblage, de-collage, montage, crumple technique, technique of stratification, cumulation, art object, installation, concept, body art, digital collage, net art, art education

Changes of biodiversity and composition of insect communities during restoration of tropical environments
Halamová, Pavla ; Tropek, Robert (advisor) ; Čížek, Lukáš (referee)
in English Tropical rainforests are the richest habitats, but most endangered habitats on the world as well. Given the current global trend of deforestation, successful restoration of secondary forests is necessary for maintaining the rich fauna and flora of tropical rainforests. Insects are the most diverse group of animals in the tropics and they have crucial roles in an ecosystem functioning. Restoration interventions in degraded forests are nowadays more common and case studies are involving insect communities, however no review of them has been conducted. The aim of this thesis was to summarize the results of hitherto published studies dealing with the insect responses to the restoration of the tropical rainforests. With the emphasis on logged forests and lands converted for agriculture, the insect species richness, abundance, diversity, and the changes of composition were studied. If ecological conditions are suitable, insect species richness, abundance, diversity, and similarity of composition tend to increase towards primary forests for majority of insect groups. However, we observe some differences across groups of insects, based on the type and severity of disturbance, and on specific conditions on the site. Keywords: insect recovery, tropical rainforest, disturbance, species diversity,...
