Language for High-Level Description of User Interface Requirements

This thesis focuses on accessibility and the analysis of barriers in a specific part of the city. It is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part provides a detailed explanation of concepts such as barriers, accessibility, disability, and the requirements of Decree No. 398/2009, which establishes general technical standards for ensuring barrier-free use of buildings. It introduces fundamental possibilities for utilizing smart city elements applicable to the addressed type of area. The practical part is dedicated to the barrier-free assessment of the designated area and subsequent proposal for improvement in poorly designed locations. Additionally, the thesis proposes a barrier-free park as a meeting place without limitations, aiming to enhance the attractiveness of the studied area with an emphasis on improving the quality of life in the given territory. Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.
Macholánová, Petra ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with an urban study on the territory of Červený kopec, specifically in the part of the territory of Stráň. It is a locality stated as a brownfield Kohnova cihelna. The proposal aims to make the most of the potential of this site, which lies in its proximity to the city center, the neighborhood of the national natural monument, a significant area of greenery and the views that this place provides due to its topographic situation. A new city district is proposed on the area of 18 hectares, which would cover one of the "brownfield holes" on the map of the city of Brno and at the same time help against the outflow of population to the outskirts of the city and against the creation of urban satellites. Numerous public opinion polls show that they would like to live close to the city, but at the same time especially young families long for their own house in a quiet countryside location. Therefore, a compact development of terraced houses, terrace villas and blocks of flats with private courtyards is proposed here, complemented by quality public space and civic amenities. This new city district would offer housing for about 3,500 new residents.

Unused urban monuments – activation of the head of the Prague viaduct in Brno Urban planning and architectural study
Fučíková, Jarmila ; Pech, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
First of all, the work should point out the possibilities of activating the non-functioning post-industrial area. The aim is to remove the “wedge” into the center and to bring missing urban activities to the site. For this purpose, I suggest the completion of a city blocks with a housing function, a square with a food market, a city park, and a connection to the surrounding of industrial buildings. The aim is to integrate the site into the city through the completion and rehabilitation of industrial houses. The great creative challenge is to preserve the genius loci of this post-industrial landscape.
Sport Centre Za Lužánkami Brno
Kociánová, Lenka ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
Prior to this thesis, there was a specialist course “Sport centre Za Lužánkami Brno”. This project was focused on planning of urbanism-architectural area with a mixture of renovated and new facilities with different functions for sport and leisure, together with professional sport opportunities. The emphasis was on collision-free paths for pedestrians and cyclists, clear transport links around the centre and terrain configuration of the area. The thesis follows on from this project, focusing on development between the hotel Bobycentrum in the South and the Lužánky swimming pool in the North. The idea of the proposal stems from the need to connect the development area to the existing network of pedestrian and cycle paths and the public transport system to minimise the use for individual car travel to the sport centre; and to connect existing and new facilities for leisure and sports. The Sport relax centre was designed with existing buildings in mind and partially follows their ground floor dimensions. The centre creates a barrier from the noisy and busy street and provides a calmer area for outdoor recreation. It fills a gap between the existing buildings and is encircled by a footpath at second level joining to the footbridges over Sportovní Street and the existing terrain in the north-western part. The footpath is ended by passageway between swimming pool and wellness centre. More and more people are looking for sport opportunities in cities however; there are still not enough quality grounds and facilities on offer. The facilities in this development are meant for regular trainings and recreation for the public, including parents with children, groups of friends as well as individual and team sports players, offering a range of day, evening and night activities both indoors and outdoors. Other facilities include outdoor changing rooms and sports equipment rental as well as spaces for meeting friends such as a restaurant, wellness and a dancing-hall.

The system should be able to provide an environment that offers a simple communication interface to ordinary users and allows the authorized persons to change the content of www site without a necessity of HTML language skills. Contemporary technologies, especially scripting language PHP, markup language XHTML and database system MySQL, were used for design of the system.
