Assessment of the postural stability level by female soccer players using Y- balance test
Dvorská, Veronika ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: Assessment of the postural stability level by female soccer players using Y- balance test Objectives: The aims of this thesis are to acquaint readers with the Y-balance test method and to map the level of dynamic postural stability by women soccer players with the help of the method called Y-balance test and to compare the gained data with a group of non- athletic female probands. Amongst other aims is to identify the risks of injuring lower body limbs of the studied individuals based on the results obtained from the Y-balance test Methods: There were 20 probands in total attending the test. Half of them were female soccer players aged 18-30 years (21,8 on average) who practice 3 times a week plus play a competitive game once a week. The second half consisted of non-athletic female probands, also in age group of 18-30 (24,4 on average), who do not actively engage in any sports. Y-balance test was used to evaluate the postural stability of the subjects. Before the testing, the length of lower limbs was measured by the probands using a measuring tape, followed by trial attempts, after which the probands realized 3 measured attempts in each direction. The results were recorded on a special sheet. All the gained data were processed by Microsoft Office 2019, analysis was conducted using...
Y-Balance test method as a possible identifier for returning from a knee injury
Trešlová, Natálie ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Havlas, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Method Y - Balance Test as a possible identifier of the return after the knee injury Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out what kind of dynamic postural stability sports persons show after a certain time after a knee joint injury. Furthermore, to compare sports persons after a knee joint injury who are already in full sports load with those who are not yet in full sports load. To find out whether the amount of muscle mass on the lower limbs has an effect on the level of dynamic postural stability. To compare the dynamic postural stability in individuals after the ligament injury with individuals after the meniscal injury. And thus find out whether the Y - Balance Test can be used as a possible identifier of the return to sports after a knee joint injury. Methods: A total of 30 sports persons took part in the research, who were for various lengths of time after knee joint injury or surgery. All these probands were tested with the dynamic postural stability test Y - Balance Test for the lower limbs and were measured with a Tanita bioimpedance scale. All measurements took place in the physiotherapy gym at the FTVS Department of Physiotherapy between March 2022 and March 2023. Statistical evaluation was performed in the RStudio program (version 2023.03.0+386, R version 4.2.3)....
Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of orienteers suffering chronic ankle instability
Janovská, Kateřina ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Author: Bc. Kateřina Janovská Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of orienteers suffering chronic ankle instability Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess dynamic postural stability in orienteers aged 15-25 years suffering from chronic ankle instability, who compete at the national level of orienteering competitions, and to compare the obtained data with a control group, which consisted of orienteers of the same age with no history of ankle joint injury. Methods: 29 orienteering runners of age 15-25 years participated in the measurement. 28 probands were included in the study, of which 8 probands formed the control group and 20 probands formed the research group. The measurement took place in a physiotherapy outpatient clinic during 2022. All probands completed a short anamnestic questionnaire and were examined with tests for ankle joint instability and hypermobility tests according to the Beighton Score. Both groups of probands underwent a single measurement of dynamic postural stability on the Y-balance test. Microsoft Excel 365 and GraphPad Prism (version 9.3.1) were used to evaluate the obtained data. The results were processed using parametric unpaiered T-test model, non-parametric unpaired T-test (Mann Whitney test) and Chi squared test. A p value < 0,05 was used to...
A comparison of results between a Y-Balance Test and a Star Excursion Balance Test among professional floorball players
Robová, Klaudia ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
Author: Bc. Klaudia Robová Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Title: A comparison of results between a Y-Balance Test and a Star Excursion Balance Test among professional floorball players Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find a relation between the Y-Balance Test and the Star Excursion Balance Test among professional floorball players and simultaneously to evaluate a level of a dynamic postural stability among professional floorball players and afterwards to evaluate a risk level of a lower limb injury. Methods: This thesis is characterised by a non-experimental observational study. A research sample consisted of a deliberately selected group of professional floorball players n = 60, 30 men and 30 women in the age range from 18 to 33 years (the average age was 21.37 +/- 3.63 years), who have actively played the highest senior competition in the Czech Republic at least for one year. Each proband complied certain criteria to be included into the study. The measurement was taken in the field in sports halls of the tested professional clubs. The dynamic postural stability was evaluated by the Y-Balance Test measured with the Y-Balance Test Kit device in three directions and the Star Excursion Balance Test with The MAT® in eight directions. The data, which were obtained by both test...
Postural stability measured by the Y-balance test in girls who practice sports aerobics and sports gymnastics
Sosnovcová, Veronika ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Author: Veronika Sosnovcová Title: Postural stability measured by the Y-balance test in girls who practice sports aerobics and sports gymnastics. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the difference in postural stability in girls from sports aerobics and artistic gymnastics. Compare the athletes from different age categories and see if the postural stability improves with age. The diploma thesis also tries to clarify the effect of hypermobility on postural control. Methods: 79 girls - 42 from sports aerobics and 37 from sports gymnastics - participated in this research. Probands were from 8 years old to adult girls. All the measurements were done in the gyms of the particapating clubs from october 2021 to february 2022. The girls were measured by Y-balance test which test their dynamic postural balance and by Beihgton score which test their hypermobility. Microsoft Excel 365 and stastistic software R (version 4.0.3.) were used for evaluation of results. The results were processed using a linear regression model. As a level of statistical significance was considered α=0,005. Results: This study showed that there are statistical significant differences in postural stability between grils from sports gymnastics and sports aerobics. The significant difference is in evaluation of all...
The effect of compensatory exercises in ice hockey players of younger school age with focus on the evaluation of selected parameters of stability, coordination and movement stereotypes
Tvrdík, Jan ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Šťastný, Petr (referee)
Title: The effect of compensatory exercises in ice hockey players of younger school age with focus on the evaluation of selected parameters of stability, coordination and movement stereotypes Objectives: The objective of this thesis was to verify the effect of compensatory exercises on stability, coordination and movement stereotypes in ice-hockey players of younger school age (8-12 years old). Specifically, the objective was to verify stated effect on dynamic stability, static stability of the trunk, execution of selected stereotypes, coordination and performance in specific test on ice. Methods: Data for this thesis were collected using quantitative form of research. The whole research population was composed of 75 probands with the average age of 10,3 years and who play actively ice-hockey. The population was composed of both sexes, males and females (boys and girls). Participants were divided into two groups - experimental (n = 43) and control (n = 32). To collect the values of measurements was used method of testing with clinical tests and to eliminate disturbing elements we also used the method of questionnaire. The values were collected in input and output sessions. The time spacing between those two measurements was 3 months. Between stated two measurements in experimental group took place...
