Marketing Activities of Uber

This Master´s Thesis focuses on the sharing economy and more importantly, on one of the main pioneers of this phenomenon, which is Uber. Uber is presented as a typical example when describing possibilities and problems connected with the sharing economy. The thesis is divided into two main parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part deals with theoretical terms that are essential for a better understanding of the second, practical, part. It involves a complex description of the term sharing economy and its main driving force - Millennials (Generation Y). Furthermore, there are described terms such as marketing environmental analysis and marketing mix analysis, which are put into practice and presented on Uber in the latter part of this thesis. This thesis focuses on marketing activities of Uber in the Czech Republic and that also includes a questionnaire survey. The main goal of this thesis is to describe current marketing activities of Uber in the Czech Republic, to present findings about brand awareness of Uber in the Czech Republic and its customer satisfaction and consequently, to make recommendations on possible marketing activities, that could help Uber in the Czech Republic to meet its objectives and/or unfold its potential. The partial objective of this thesis is to put together a complex set of characteristics of the sharing economy.
Analysis of the Taxi Services in Prague

The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of the Prague taxi service with the alternative service Uber. The theoretical part is devoted to defining the basic terms which are used in this branch. Subsequently the branch of taxi service is defined, together with all the conditions associated with its operation, with a look back on history. Another part contents brief description of main subjects in the field of classic and alternative taxis. In the practical part, the work first focuses on introducing the Uber company, operating conditions within its services and services itself. The analysis of taxi and Uber driver's input costs follows. The last chapter deals with the development of taxis for the future.
The sharing economy, its analysis and influence on tourism

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the impacts of the sharing economy on tourism and on the marketplace. The partial aim is to propose measures which would improve the sharing economy and its operations. The first chapter focuses on tourism, its characteristics, place in the economy and on new trends in tourism. The next chapter presents the sharing economy as a global phenomenon, describes its main characteristics and states the reasons why the sharing economy has developed. Then an analysis follows, firstly of the positive, then of the negative impacts on the participants, tourism and the marketplace. The last chapter proposes regulations which would prevent the negative impacts of the sharing economy.
Marketing strategy of Uber

The object of study of this Bachelor Thesis is Uber, the most successful start-up of 2016, and its marketing strategy. The aim is to describe Uber as a company, introduce its background, business model, and its activity in the Czech Republic. The practical part of this thesis is focused on the marketing strategy of Uber in the Czech market followed up by the analysis of company's offline and online marketing activities in this region. A section of this thesis is also dedicated to a SWOT and competitive analysis. In conclusion, the thesis evaluates Uber's position in the Czech market and its overall future potential.
The impact of sharing economy on consumer behavior in tourism

The thesis concentrates on the impact of the sharing economy on consumer behavior in tourism. The theoretical part focuses on several approaches towards consumer behavior and the importance of mobile technologies for the growth of the sharing economy. The second part later deals with characterization of the sharing economy, determination of the key players and most importantly researches the impact of this phenomenon on consumer behavior in tourism, especially in the area of accommodation and transportation.

This Master´s Thesis is designed for services of the carriers on contractual personel transportation and taxi service especially in the Prague. Within the framework of this thesis legislative condition for personal transportation are examined. Thesis is describing the biggest carriers in personal transportation and taxi service. In the end the cell phone aplications, which deal with personal transportation are described.
Americký pojistný trh a rostoucí vliv spolujízd na pojištění automobilů.

This bachelor thesis discusses the United States Insurance Industry, concentrates on automobile insurance, and shows the impact of ridesharing on it, in form of transportation network companies(TNC). The theoretical part of this paper clarifies the characteristics, structure, and purpose of American insurance regulation, and also describes components of private passenger automobile insurance. As a case study for this paper, an analysis of Uber services is provided, and a breakdown of its commercial insurance is given to look for and discuss gray areas of the coverage and evaluate why they occur. This paper also gives a comparison of California state regulations for transportation network companies with Uber's commercial policy in order to find who is responsible for deficiencies in coverage during the rideshare and what is comprehensive in terms of coverage for rideshare drivers.
The competition on a passenger car transportation market

This bachelor thesis analyses newly arose competition on a passenger car transportation market. The main aim of the thesis is to describe this competition by the presentation of concrete services, which are Uber, WunderCar, Liftago, upTAXI and Jízdomat. I also try to appraise the legitimacy of principles, on which these services stand, and to compare main factors of transportation. On these factors I evaluate transport opportunities and benefit of presented services. For better comprehension of the issue there a description and legislation of personal transport and taxi. It results from the thesis, that all presented services are just intermediaries of the transport so they are not responsible for the transport by itself. Drivers, who use these services for offering transport, are responsible for breaking of the rules of passenger car transportation. The main benefits of presented services are: using of new technologies, making this type of transportation more effective and increasing of affordability for passengers.
