Level of the Protection of Human Rights in the Russian Federation

The main objective of this bachelor thesis entitled 'The Level of the Protection of Human Rights in the Russian Federation' is to describe and analyse the current situation of the protection of human rights and freedoms in the Russian Federation. At the same time, it tries to find answers to the question, what is the level of the protection of human rights in this country? After the more general interpretation of the concept of human rights and an overview of the development of human rights in the Russian Federation, the thesis concentrates on the issue of the Russian substantive and procedural law of human rights. The following is a list of state, non-governmental and international organizations, centers, and clubs dealing with the protection of human rights. In the final chapter are pointed out flagrant violations of human rights. To illustrate human rights abuses, specific cases are also documented. The core of this thesis is a part of the introduction to the book The Kennedy Tapes: Inside the White House During the Cuban Missile Crisis. The theoretical part is constituted by a commentary on the translation. This commentary consist of a translation analysis created according to the model of Christiane Nord analyzing the intratextual and extratextual factors followed by a description of the chosen translation method, the translation problems typology and translation shifts. The relation between the Russian Federation and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation

The present bachelor thesis entitled "The Relationship between the Russian Federation and NATO" aims to describe and analyse the development and the dialogue between the Russian Federation and NATO. Emphasis is placed on analysis of key events in which both actors were involved. The development of mutual relations between NATO and the Soviet Union during the Cold War and the subsequent process of forming relationship between NATO and the Russian Federation are analyzed in detail. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of NATO and the Warsaw Pact, especially their emergence, structure, strategy, and objectives. The thesis also touches on all strategic concepts of NATO and the Military Doctrine of the Russian Federation since the turn of the millennium. Afterwards, benefits of countries' membership in the political-military formation are evaluated in theoretical and practical perspectives. The bachelor thesis outlines the causes of the dissolution of the Soviet Union and its consequences on economy of Russian Federation. Goal of this bachelor thesis is not only to review the macroeconomic indicators but also to describe changes in social conditions within the state. Also the process of the creation of new political system is not neglected. In the bachelor thesis there are also evaluated the main reasons for integration of the Russian Federation in the post soviet space.
