The bachelor thesis deals with the properties measurement of solid fuels. The theoretical part deals with the basic division of solid fuels with a focus on biomass and the subsequent dismantling of various methods for measuring energy characteristics. In the practical part, the basic methods will be laboratory tested and described.

This bachelor’s thesis is a professional research dealing with a biomass steam boiler. The main aim of the thesis is the description of the structure, the function of individual parts and the regulation of the boiler. The first part of the thesis is devoted to boilers in general, presents their fuels, focuses on solid fuel-fired boilers and describes the steam generator of boilers. The second part deals with a specific biomass steam boiler, describes its main parts and discusses the regulation circuits of the boiler.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with biomass boilers for heating family house. The thesis is divided into several parts. In the first part are characterized solid fuels, the individual kinds of solid fuels, properties, modifications and processing are described to finishing suitable form for burning. The second part describes individual biomass boilers for house heating. The last part of this thesis compares the selected biomass boilers from an economic perspective.

Solid fuels boilers

This bachelor’s thesis deals with burning solid fuels in boilers used for house heating. In the first chapter, the individual kinds of solid fuels are described in light of their composition, properties, means of their energetical application and ways of adjusting them to a form proper for combustion. In the second chapter, the individual types of solid fuels boilers are described. The last chapter deals with comparision of several specific boilers in light of their purchase price and operating expenses.

Characterization of by-products from the combustion of solid fuels with SEM/EDS and micro-Raman spectroscopy

The solid residues from the combustion currently represent a problem that needs to be addressed. Quality products from combustion of solid biomass and coal is significantly different, may contain heavy metals and therefore their application difficult. Total used 4 samples of solid residues from the combustion of solid fuels, where two samples consisted of ash from the combustion of coal, respectively lignite and two samples were made with ash from the combustion of biomass, namely straw and hay. The microscopic analysis was used a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and Micro Raman. The qualitative analysis was used in addition X-ray diffraction. Within the microscopic analyses were tested superficially different types of materials.

Impact of The Ecological Taxes on Public Budgets and Consumption of Taxed Products in The Czech Republic

This master thesis deals with the influence of installation of ecological taxes upon public budgets. The aim is to review, whether collecting of ecological taxes caused reduction of consumption of the taxed fuel and energy. The comparative method is used here to compare the budget and the real payment of the ecological taxes in 2008 and 2009 in the Czech republic. The well-arranged tables and graphs show the comparison of the consumption of the fuel and energy since 2005 to 2009. The result of the research shows, that the collecting of the ecological taxes did not reach the expected amount, so the planned budget was not filled up. The consumption of the fuel and the energy in 2008 and 2009 decreased as expected, but it is impossible to appoint safely, whether the decrease was caused by the implementation of the ecological taxes to the czech legislature.

Transport of solid fuels by ČD Cargo

The aim of this thesis is to characterize the company ČD Cargo with special focus on the transport of solid fuels. It describes the historical development of this company, its present-day activities and services. Statistic part of this thesis contains time lines, defining the development of transport of solid fuels and its part in the overall transport. There is also an outline of an expected scenario of future solid fuel transport in connection with domestic resources depletion. Much consideration is also given to the unification of transport documents and European integration with a view to actions and objectives of transport policy concerning railway freight trafic.
