Radicalization of Prague Students in the 1930s

This thesis deals with the transformation of social and political behavior of Prague students in the 1930's. The work follows the requirements and expectations of students. Their unfulfilled view reveals the dissatisfaction of students, which led to the escalation of student clear-cut political and social views. The thirties brought in a student movement onset of extreme nationalist, but also left-wing tendencies of both the Czech and the German side. The work is based on the documents of student faculty associations, the student journals and memoir texts. The aim is to analyze, against whom was directed the dissatisfaction of students, which ideas had students about the proper organization of the state and society, what were the differences in political and social thought between the faculties and student groups and how were students percieved by society. Work is also interested in what influence on stduents movement had the clash Czech, German and Jewish students in Prague. How was influenced the students thinking of their social status and how identified the individual student associations. The work aims to contribute to the completion of the image of interwar czechoslovak society.

Capital jurisdiction, criminality and everyday life on domain of Náchod and in king's town Nymburk between the years 1513-1618 In this diploma paper I dealt with criminality and everyday life on the early modern domain of Náchod and in the king's town Nymburk between the years 1513-1620. Firstly I tried to describe how the town councils worked and with which central regulations they operated. Secondly I did the statistic quatification of all criminal delicts which are mentioned in "pitch" or "black" books of Náchod and Nymburk and other materials of court provenance. Then I compared court causes from other "pitch"/ "black" books which were published in the past with material from Náchod's and Nymburk's archive. I managed to use modern historical methods such as microhistory and historical anthropology to show which postures took early modern society to different types of criminal delicts or problematic phenomenona like sexual life before marriage, suicide, rape or witchcraft. In connection with this I tried to clear up why were criminal delicts like infanticide or witchcraft punished with such a brutal death penalty. Ideological Influencing in the Czechoslovak Children's Magazines of the 1970s

(in English): The aim of this thesis is to characterize ideological influence on the Mateřídouška magazine's pages in years between 1969-1979. The stress is laid down on the reader and their right to have a proper childhood in the period of so-called "normalization". I tried to solve the problem by analysing the previous evolution of the magazine and a consecutive analysis of given period's selected volumes. The research did show that Mateřídouška does place a great stress on tradition and it is necessary to evaluate it as a whole unit. Despite the outstanding return to the real socialism the ideology does assume a specific form. On the basis of discovered facts we can characterize this form in a more precise way and present a picture that children could have seen and read on the pages of Mateřídouška. The Changes of agricultural Landscape of Microregion Sedlčany in the years 1850-1943

The thesis is focused on the economic situation development in the Sedlčany region from the first half of the 19th century till second half of the 20th century. The period observes changes from the agrarian landscape. At the end of period of the Second Czechoslovak Republic the landscape could be described as agrarian-industrial landscape. Traditionally, the Sedlčany region is considered industrially influenced. The presented thesis deals with confirmation or disproof of this idea. The research tries to find the potential focuses of dynamic economic development. If the focuses existed in the past, the research deals with comparison economic development of the Sedlčany region with other parts of Bohemia and finds the circumstances of the development. The economic situation of this area is located into wider context of the industrialization in the Czech countries during given period. Of course, the phenomenon of industrialization process relates to many factors, such as demographic development, transportation, trade, banking, agriculture and administrative activities. History of brewing in Velké Popovice

This bachelor thesis explores the beginnings of beer brewing industry in the village of Velké Popovice. The crucial part of the thesis dedicated to the brewery is preceded by a brief analysis of the relevant literature. The following section outlines the development of beer brewing since its coming to existence in the global context and in the Czech lands, with special attention dedicated to the crown cities, nobility, the guild system and periods of crisis. The core of the thesis focuses first on the history of Velké Popovice and is continued by the history of the brewery since the first mention of its existence in the 16th century written sources. Then it scrutinizes the historical periods of changing ownership until the founding of the current brewery by František Ringhoffer in 1874. Attention is also paid to the cultural and historical influence of the premonstratensians and the benedictines on the pre-industrial beer brewing, cultural and historical development of the whole estate, as well as their influence on the economic and social structure of the inhabitants.

5 Abstract: The bachelor thesis focuses on subject of photography and its relationship with society. This work attempts to the micro-historical probe to the cultural and social history of Český Krumlov in the years 1890 - 1950. As the main sources uses archive of Museum Photostudio Seidel (photographs, accountant books, customer books, diaries). In interaction with other sources (registers, statistics from the census, records of professional and business association) follows up as photograph reflects social status of customers and what it reveals about theirs relationship with this medium and to the actual act of photography. The work is based on analysis and comparison of sources based on inspiration from the professional literature on photography (Jaroslav Anděl, Pierre Bourdieu, Roland Barthes). Partially it touches problems of photo such as possible sources of historiographical knowledge. Czechoslovak Red Citadels between Two Wars

(in English): The thesis focuses on the regional organisation of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) in the Liberec region. In the political system of interwar Czechoslovakia, KSČ was specific in that its members hailed from all local ethnic groups. It was therefore, above all, the local Germans who formed the major part of the Liberec organisation. In the 1920s in some districts within the region, KSČ received up to one third of all votes cast, while throughout the 1930s, its support diminished rapidly in favour of the Sudetendeutsche Partei (SdP). The thesis seeks to clarify the causes of this sudden drop. It identifies as one of the major factors the mutually contradictory identities which were being formed within the local branch of the movement, i.e. the communist, the German and the Czechoslovak identity. These three came into alignment, to a certain degree, only shortly before the Munich Agreement with the emergence of a communist Czechoslovak narrative established on a supraethnic basis. The study also takes note of the developments in the KSČ headquarters in Prague as these had significant impact on the peripheral Liberec organization and further places the problem within the context of the First Czechoslovak Republic and its society. The elections in the České Budějovice region in 1946 and 1948, comparison from the perspective of economic and social history

This thesis deals with the situation in the České Budějovice region after World War II. from 1945 1948. It is focused on the post-war economical and social situation of the region and on the elections in 1946 and 1948. In the first part, the state of post-war Czechoslovakia in 1945 1948 is described. This part deals especially with economical and social development of Czechoslovakia. It describes the establishment of the National Front of the Czechs and Slovaks and its the system of its working. And portrays the allowed political parties (the communists, national socialists, social democrats and the People's Party) a their programmes. The second part introduces the České Budějovice region in the 20 th century. It deals with the postwar difficulties of econimical and social situation of the region, especially the transfer of the German population. The third part is focused on the elections. It describes election order of the Third Republic and deals with the elections' results a compares them with the results in Bohemia. And pursues the possible cause of these results.
