Hodnocení rozvojového potenciálu brownfields na území Moravskoslezského kraje

The diploma thesis on the evaluation of the development potential of brownfields in the Moravian-Silesian Region, in the first part theoretically anchors the concept of brownfields, specifies the basic concepts and definitions, describes the formation of brownfields and all the possibilities of their division into categories. Furthermore, it introduces the basic concepts within the process of regeneration of areas defined as brownfields and presents important national regeneration strategies and describes the legislative framework within the Czech Republic and the European Union. In the context of regeneration, it introduces the main actors in the process and the possibilities of their cooperation, and finally the advantages and disadvantages that regeneration brings with it. The last theoretical part consists of the definition of the concept of development potential and the possibilities of its evaluation, according to the available Czech and international literature. The empirical part consists of data from publicly available databases of brownfields, supplemented by own research and localization of brownfields. These data are first statistically classified, the structure of existing brownfields is created, their frequency within the districts of the Moravian-Silesian Region, in terms of original use, future use, availability of infrastructure. In the practical part, the actual system of classification of brownfields according to development potential and the subsequent presentation of data according to this classification is not designed. In the conclusion of the thesis, the results of the evaluation of the development potential of brownfields in the study area are presented and recommendations for successful regeneration and development of the brownfields are presented.
The Impact of Human Agency on Creating Development Potential and Transforming Development Trajectories in the Cheb and Sokolov Regions during the Post-Totalitarian Period

This thesis focuses on analysing the concept of human agency in peripheral regions with a discontinuous development and contributes to the current debate in economic evolutionary geography. Specifically, the study targets two districts in the Karlovy Vary region - Cheb and Sokolov - with the region being internally differentiated in terms of development potential. The aim of the thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of how human agency has transformed in the post-totalitarian period concerning development trajectories and how this human agency and its changes contribute to the creation of development potential. To achieve this goal, intensive qualitative research was conducted using semi- structured interviews. The data collection involved a wide range of actors from both regions, including representatives of public administration at the local and regional levels, significant entrepreneurs, non- profit development entities, and others. The data obtained for this study was analysed through coding, which enabled the identification of key themes, patterns, and correlations in human agency and their roles in creating development potential and directing development trajectories. Development potential of parts of municipalities on example of Police nad Metují

Czech settlement system is known for a large number of small municipalities and there are discussions about limited possibilities for their development or even the integration of small municipalities. But there is lack of discussion about problems of parts of municipalities. This bachelor work describes development problems of parts of municipalities. These problems are often similar as development problems of small municipalities. The main hypothesis of this thesis is that development pottential is influenced by population size. This hypothesis was verified by quantitative analysis of available data and by own observation in the parts of municipalities. In the case of Police nad Metují this hypothesis was proved. Common needs of small communities and their funding through grants

This diploma thesis focuses on the current possibilities of obtaining subsidies in the Czech Republic, specifically on those related to the funding of small municipalities and their development. The main objective of the thesis is to determine common needs of small municipalities and to design a financing source that would use subsidies. The aim is to help small municipalities to have a good understanding of fairly complex subsidy programs and to propose specific solutions that would finance some of their activities, especially those that are the most important at the moment.
Analysis of Social and Economic Development of the Municipality Dobřichovice

This thesis deals with the social and economic development of the town of Dobřichovice which is located in the district Praha-západ (Prague-West) and ranks among the smaller towns with the number of inhabitants not exceeding 4,000. In the theoretical part the main used terms are defined with the help of the technical literature: region, regional policy, regional development, municipality etc. The objective of the thesis in the empiric part is (apart from providing basic characteristics of the town of Dobřichovice including a brief outline of its history) is especially to assess the development in the individual social and economic areas. The documents of the town of Dobřichovice and other public institutions including the data of the Czech Statistical Office are used for the analysis in the areas like demography, education, unemployment, entrepreneurial activities or the quality of life. The primary collection of data is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with the representatives political leadership of the town, of its municipal office as well as with the representatives of local citizens. Based on the analysis of primary and secondary sources an aggregate SWOT analysis is performed. The summary provides an overview of the development areas and outlines several points that could be used by the town of Dobřichovice by the preparation of the future documents on development.
Development potential of brownfields in the South Moravian Region

The Diploma Thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of development potential of brownfields within the territory of South Moravian Region, Czech Republic. Due to the characteristic differences of the examined area is the evaluation created separately for the city of Brno itself and for the rest of the region, excluding the area of Brno. The evaluation is based on the system of prioritization which comes out from existing, updated databases of brownfields. The results represent concrete recommendations about which particular brownfields should be initially regenerated. Within the prioritization regarding the territory of the city of Brno are the brownfields evaluated also with the concern of their supposed future way of utilization. The results of the work are depicted in respective cartograms.

This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the development potential of the Olomouc region. Development potential is evaluated and compared on the basis of indicators of demographic trends, economy, employment and living and social standards of the population. The theoretical part focuses on the basic concept of regional development, definition of region, theories of regional development and factors of regional development and regional competitiveness. The practical part describes the Olomouc region, analyzed according to the mentioned indicators, evaluated the strategic management and the conclusion is the overall evaluation research. The bachelor thesis also contains recommendations and suggestions for the region.
Development potential of selected municipalities (municipalities in the South Bohemian Region)

The practical part describes at first the chosen municipalities, followed by the SWOT analysis that capture the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Major goals those graduation these is pass judgment on to what degree has European agricultural fund for rural development influence on increasing developing potential in the concrete region Sušicko. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the basic concepts, such as structural policy, programming period, the common agricultural policy and of course the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. There is generally characterized Sušický region in terms of population, economy, economic activities, infrastructure and environment. Particular attention is paid to agriculture in this area. In the last chapter of the practical part are 2 model examples. In diploma work I followed the following points: 1. Preparation of a literature retrieval; 2. Information Collection; 3. Questionnaire survey; 4. Analysis of the information; 5. Synthesis and evaluation of results; 6. Processing model examples.
