Monitoring of services within active network elements by Mikrotik
Kamenář, Filip ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the monitoring of the VPN services on the networking elements Mikrotik. The theoretical part includes the description of RouterOS system, management options and networking devices used. The thesis consists of the description of the VPN services and analysis of PPTP, SSTP, L2TP and OpenVPN protocols, which are implemented in the practical part of this work. The theory also contains the description of monitoring devices included in the RouterOS system. In comparison, external tools are enlisted. Chosen monitoring tools are therefore implemented in the practical part of the thesis and in the monitoring script. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the establishment of VPN tunnels and its parameter measurement. The VPN clients are to be found in the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Egypt, which establishes the real conditions for network monitoring status. The final part of the work deals with the script, which is created for the automatic-monitoring of VPN service in the accessible network and sends the gathered data to the operators. The aim of the thesis is to illustrate the usage of integrated monitoring tools in the RouterOS system in the network built on the Mikrotik elements. The chosen monitoring service was the service VPN, which is being used for remote access to the local networks from distant part of the world by the corporations but also individuals. Individual monitored parameters are enlisted and compared depending on client geographic location.
Remote control of remote communication board of mobile robot
Jílek, Tomáš ; Žalud, Luděk (referee) ; Burian, František (advisor)
The thesis discusses the possible ways of remote management of devices running Mikrotik RouterOS and choosing appropriate variant for implementation of automated remote management of the device, which is part of a mobile robot. Due to the limited capabilities of embedded system, from which it is necessary to perform automated remote management of device with this operating system, it was not possible to use standardized protocols for this purpose. A substantial part of this work therefore deals with analysis and detailed documentation of proprietary protocols implemented in the MikroTik RouterOS operating system, which are suitable for implementation in an embedded system, from which it is necessary to perform automated remote management. The conclusion describes the principle of the proposed and realized implementation of proprietary protocols in C language. The described implementation is part of the library, which provides automated remote management using these protocols.
Multigateway routing system based on the Mikrotik router
Straník, Jan ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the routing of data traffic to multiple gateways with a network operating system MikroTik RouterOS, which has become widespread in the small firms and home users. It is aimed to describe the problem with using multiple gateways. RouterOS description itself and its core components needed to solve this issue, such as routing, packet marking and quality assuranceservices. It also deals with the description of the particular design and testing. The proposedsolution is verified on the example of a real situation. Finally, the proposed solution is compared to alternative solutions, commonly used in practice.
Application for Mikrotik RouterOS Remote Management
Doležal, Jiří ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee) ; Hájek, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with design and implementation of an application for remote management MikroTik RouterOS. Within this thesis has been created an application which allows to configure network router services. The thesis contains design and implementation of an application written in programming language C#. The application is runnable under operation systems MS Windows and Linux by using framework Mono. The application uses a user friendly graphical interface for simple management devices with MikroTik RouterOS.
Communications MikroTik and IPS
Golovkova, Nataliya ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Gerlich, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is is focused on network attack problems and possible protection against their consequencies. The theortecical part describes the attacks that are currently among the most widespread with focus on the attack of Denial of Services (DoS). The next part of the thesis deals with detection and prevention systems fornetwork traffic monitoring with emphasis on the Suricata system. The following part is about getting familiar with the Mikrotik devices that are used in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part aims to provide a solution to mitigate the DoS attack in the communication between Mikrotik router and Suricata system. The communication is solved in a script using the php programming language.
Management and Monitoring of RouterOS Devices in Small Networks
Leštinský, Ondřej ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee) ; Hájek, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes the design and implementation of an information system that can remotely configure the device running RouterOS. The main features of system is the administration of clients who can connect to a network through a system of registered devices. All clients connection speed can be limited and viewed their current status. All registered devices can be displayed on the map. The management system can perform only authorized administrators.
Usage of MikroTik Routerboards for Education in Computer Networks Courses at FIT
Šebeň, Patrik ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Ráb, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes usage of routerboard Mikrotik for education at network courses. Several exercises were created, oriented at routing, routing protocols, configuring and securing wireless networks. Further, it deals with selection of alternative operating system for RB433AH router and setting it up.
Network management using Mikrotik
Zavadil, Pavel ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to describe the tools of evaluation of the state of the network, the description of network components of Lithuanian company Mikrotik and the demonstration of network failure scenarios with its subsequent reconfiguration to maintain communication.
Modular web-based interface using MikrotikAPI
Janda, Lukáš ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This diploma thesis is dealing with creating a web interface for managing and configuring RouterOS system using MikroTik API. Web interface is protected against intrusion unauthorized persons and contains mechanisms for managing users. This web interface allows extend the application using modules, which can extend functions of this interface. PHP framework was used for for creating this interface, configuration of RouterOS can be stored in a MySQL database.
Mikrotik RouterOS Module for IBM QRadar
Sysel, Václav ; Polčák, Libor (referee) ; Hranický, Radek (advisor)
The goal of this work is to design and implement an extension for the IBM QRadar system. It is a security system that detects cyber attacks by collecting information from the computer network. The purpose of the extension is to enable the collection, processing and visualization of information from MikroTik RouterOS operating system. The designed software provides administrators of networks with MikroTik elements with a better awareness of what is happening in the protected network and a comprehensive overview of the security situation.
