The Image of Woman in the Old and New Testaments
Vlnas, Jan ; Ryšková, Mireia (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
he diploma thesis called "P r e s e n t a t i o n o f F e m a l e C h a r a c t e r s i n t he O l d a n d N e w T e s t a m e n t s " endeavours to examine the depiction of female characters in the texts of the Old and New Testaments. The deuterocanonical books and addictions to Esther and Daniel are taken into account too. A list of the female characters and the interpretation of their names proves not only that there are many of them but also their importance. The classification suggested by this thesis is based on women's role in the story of our salvation and representative examples of these characters show their typical features as well as the personal ones. The characters are further described by means of the theological and historical context. Conclusions of these analyses are confronted with the commonly shared views and stereotypes in particular because of their claim that the Bible strongly promotes the patriarchal life concept. The author has concluded that the female characters in the Bible are much more important than people commonly think. Biblical authors naturally shared the patriarchal view of the world, in spite of it we can assume that they didn't belittle the importance of women. T

Kozáková, Zuzana ; Osvaldová, Barbora (advisor) ; Štefaniková, Sandra (referee)
In the 70-year history of the weekly magazine Vlasta, there were three main divisions that fundamentally influenced the personnel department, as well as the choice of topics. This diploma thesis is focused in the years 1988-1991. That is, before and after the Velvet Revolution. After 1989 there were changes in the editorial office, changes in the topics of articles (influenced by propaganda) and changes in advertising and graphic design. This thesis deals with these three lines. The main goal is to find out how the working environment in the weekly magazine Vlasta has changed during the years under review and how did the content changed. The first part deals with the functioning of the editorial office two years before the change of régime and the subsequent change in the magazine environment after 1989. The thesis is focused on the work of individual editors, but also on what topics they chose and why.

Mašková, Martina ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Štoll, Martin (referee)
Thesis "The comparison of selected topics in Vlasta Magazine between periods 1973- 1978 and 2013-2018" informs readers about thematic categories in Vlasta Magazine of the 1970s and the 21st century. The main goal was to compare topics of these two periods and decide how they have changed during forty years. This work introduces media theories, reminds of the most important Czech and Czechoslovakian historic events, the third chapter discusses woman's roles, especially her work and social roles. The next chapter is about media owners and about Vlasta Magazine. The practical part of this work is dedicated to quantitative and qualitative differences among thematic categories in Vlasta Magazine between periods 1973-1978 and 2013-2018. Research shows that texts of both periods have their typical features. Authors write about politics and criticize social imperfections. A woman is shown like an unselfish mother and a hard worker. Nowadays, journalists speak neither about policy nor foregone regime. An appeal to women is not coherent - they should be beautiful and slim, but on the other hand "real women have curves" and "a real lady does not care about wrinkles". Today's women do care about relationships with men and about shopping. In addition, consumerism is evident because of increased number of...
Housework and Free Time, Contradictory Elements of Private Sphere?
Černá, Zuzana ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana (referee)
HOUSEWORK AND FREE TIME, CONTRADICTORY ELEMENTS OF PRIVATE SPHERE? Thesis author: Zuzana Černá Thesis supervisor: PhDr. Mgr. Jan Balon, Ph.D. Abstract This thesis examines a relationship between housework and free time. I used the qualitative interviewing which can help us better understand this issue. In contemporary society, free time is an important element of daily life. We are concerned with what it means to us, we evaluate its quality and analyze how it affects our life satisfaction. On the contrary, the housework represents duty and a less popular activity in general. These two elements form time that we spend outside of paid work. In this study I try to explain what housework represents, how it affects our free time and whether these two elements conflict because they together constitute our private life, despite their different nature. The housework becomes more important and demanding during parenthood when it merges with childcare. An important aspect is division of housework between the partners, especially when they can substitute each other. Such division appears to be more efficient and can help both parents gain more free time that happens to be precious during the parenthood. During my research I also found out that housework does not have to be necessarily connected with a negative meaning,...

Woman of the Bible in the Spectrum of Civilizations - How Czech Christian Women View Womanhood
WINSTED, Margareta
This thesis concerns scientific, philosophical and religious views of womanhood. Its main focus is the nature of biblical womanhood, based on the papal apostolic letter Mulieris dignitatem and contemporary studies of American biblists, concerning biblical manhood and womanhood. The practical section consists of qualitative research among Czech Christian women. It examines how Christian women view their role and practically implement principles of biblical womanhood in their family, society and church. The aim of this thesis is not to evaluate controversial issues, such as women?s ordination, homosexuality, or other questions regarding womanhood. Nevertheless, it seeks to explore biblical womanhood in practice, as well as the concerns and struggles of real Christian women. Of no less importance, this research tries to identify how Christian women, who are a minority in the Czech Republic, develop their views on biblical womanhood, the sources from which they draw, as well as the models, which influence them.
The role of the Czech woman in the family from the public
KLOUDOVÁ, Hana
The contemporary role of Czech women in the families is being discussed a lot. Czech families have significantly changed and so the role of women. A traditional patriarchal model of Czech families has been disrupted. This Bachelor thesis is mapping public opinion on the role of Czech women in the families and the difference between traditional and present models. The theoretical part deals with historical development of women roles, a current structure of Czech families, new forms and ways of spouse coexistence, birth rate decline, two-career wedlocks, family roles of men and women and their housework share. A quantitative method, a questionnaire, was used for the research survey. The questionnaire consisted of 24 closed questions and 4 closed questions supplemented with factual data. Some colleagues, friends and family members from the South Bohemian region were the respondents. All of them were over 18. From two hundred questionnaires distributed, 148 were completed and used so the return rate was 74 %. Hypothesis 1 assumed a traditional family role of the Czech woman and was confirmed. Hypothesis 2 assuming high absence of ?a new woman? in a Czech family was not confirmed. Although the findings show a prevalance of the traditional family model, the percentage of traditional views has declined compared to the previous sociological research surveys. A man has lost his traditional breadwinner role while a woman, except for her housework and child care, is fully employed, earns quite big money, attends courses of further professional development and represents her husband. The findings of this Bachelor work can serve students of social and health care studies and form a basis for further research work in this field.
