Family in Future-Oriented Ideas of Adolescents Living in Institutional Care
Henyšová, Žaneta ; Myšková, Lucie (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
Reflections of an adolescent's own future may contribute to its future direction. The concept of one's own family occupies an important position in these reflections and, to a certain extent, determines their form. Individuals from institutional care have disrupted original family ties, which are supposed to negatively affect their own family concepts. The diploma thesis is based on a qualitative methodological approach. The family concepts of individuals both from institutional care and regular family environment are investigated under the light of individuals' future orientations. The semi-structured interview and projective graphical methods were assigned to six individuals from institutional care and six individuals from regular family environment. A qualitative analysis of the data gathered confirmed that the concepts of a planned family of adolescents from institutional care differ from those of teens from the regular family environment. Adolescents from institutional care lack the emotional aspect of the family, and the family is perceived primarily as an institution serving to protect its members. Moreover, gender aspects are more pronounced in their family concepts, especially in parental roles, than in adolescents from the control group. Differences between groups are also found in other...

Grünbergová, Lenka ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Kobová, Ĺubica (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the social aspects of women's oral hormonal contraception in the lives of two generations of women - daughters and their mothers. The theoretical part introduces the fundamental concepts of contraception research based on gender perspective. It also highlights the important historical milestones related to so-called birth control pill. Furthermore, the development of the contraceptive behavior of the Czech population since the 50s of the 20th century is analyzed. The empirical part of this thesis includes the description of methodology and the analysis of semi-structured interviews with ten women - mothers who were born in the 1960s and their daughters born around the turn of the 80s and 90s. The aim of the analysis is to discover how a generally accepted theory about contraception as the emancipation mechanism that helps women to control their own body and decide about their own reproduction is expressed in the lives of interviewed women. I ask the reason why, when and under what conditions these women decided to use birth control pills and the role of other circumstances in their decision-making. Moreover, I focus on the way how the birth control pills affect the relationship to own body and self-esteem of my respondents. And also, how birth control pills affect...

Černovská, Eliška ; Tomalová, Eliška (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and Great Britain" deals with the French- British bilateral relations during the period 1974-1981 when VGE held the post of the French President. At that time the cooperation between Paris and London gained the new dimension because of the admission of the United Kingdom to the European Economic Community in 1973. Afterwards the bilateral relations became closer than during previous decades which could be illustrated by the implementation of annual bilateral summits since 1976. In the context of the French-British bilateral cooperation the paper focuses on the personality of VGE and answers the question if VGE's family environment and traditions were positive about the Anglo-Saxon states or not and if his family background could have influenced his attitude to the UK during his septennat. Consequently, the study applies the biography method. The first part of the bachelor's thesis analyses the French-British bilateral relations in 1958-1981 putting emphasis on personal preferences of French Presidents. The second chapter deals with VGE's family background and examines its influence on his attitude to Great Britain. The third part studies relations between VGE and British Prime Ministers and analyses if this personal level intensified the good stance...
