Security and Protection of Data and Information in Banking Business for Managers

This dissertation describes information as an economic object and focuses on information security with reference to all technical and social aspects and documents the necessity to consider both those areas simultaneously. The dissertation determines information security standards and describes some tools being used for effective data protection and information systems protection. One part of this dissertation is a model design for effective controlling of data and process protection, which can be used by bank managers on process control design especially in transaction processing area. This model is divided into several logical and consequential blocks and provides help to operating managers to design or redesign new or existing processes accordingly. The emergency plan of a firm

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe an emergency plan for a firm in area of a preventing riskiness and usability of the plan in time of crisis situation. The thesis also analyzes methods and approaches to a creation of the plan. It examines in detail the formation from an identification of possible hazards through a suggestion of solutions to testing and updating of the plan. Last but not least, my thesis describes the most suitable structure of the plan with respects to its utilization in practice, it also describes some other special plans, which are usually part of a crisis management of a firm. The main aim of a practical part is a creation of a model emergency plan.

Operational Risk and Scenario Analysis as One Method of Its Management

Práce se zabývá problematikou spojenou s rozšířením konceptu kapitálové přiměřenosti o prvek operačního rizika. Rámcově popisuje novou basilejskou dohodu Basel II a způsob, jakým je do ní operační riziko zasazeno. Detailněji pak popisuje nejpokročilejší přístup pro výpočet kapitálového požadavku k operačnímu riziku, tzv. AMA přístup. Na závěr je podrobně charakterizována jedna ze složek nejpokročilejšího přístupu, analýza scénářů, pomocí které je také vypočítán kapitálový požadavek a identifikovány některé kvalitativní dopady na modelovou banku.

Valuation of investment in the existing firm

The goal of the disertation is valuation of economic effectiveness of the project of building and operation of data centre (telehouse centre). The theoretical part contains basic principles and methods of risk analysis of investment project (break event point, sensitivity analysis), the description of preparation and realisation of investment project, planning of cash flow, determination of discount rate, the possible ways of finance of investment project, the methods of valuation of effectiveness investments. The practical part contains the analysis of telecommunication market, Porters model of competitive powers in the sphere of telecommunication firm, specification of the costs of the project, price statement of Serverhousing, the plan of costs, plan of profit and lost statement, the determination of net present value.

Feasibility štúdia projektu výroby biomasy

The objective of this thesis is to assess the overall feasibility of a biomass production project in the current business environment in Slovakia. The project is analyzed primarily in terms of market conditions, technical and technological details and economic feasibility. An important part of the study is also the risk analysis including various scenarios and an assessment of the influence of risk factors. The thesis concludes that the project is essentially feasible and has a potential of being successful although it bears a certain level of riskiness which has to be considered and managed.

Konvergenční kriteria a Česká republika - cesta do EMU

Cílem práce je analýza stavu plnění maastrichtských kriterií a hodnocení stupně reálné konvergence České republiky s Evropskou měnovou unií a analýza potenciálních rizik souvisejících s přijetím jednotné měny. Nejprve byly charakterizovány skutečnosti týkající se vzniku a vývoje integračního uskupení. Následně byla analyzována data (cenová hladina, úrokové míry, deficit vládního sektoru, produktivita, hospodářský růst, aj.), která jsou pro Českou republiku při zkoumání této problematiky relevantní. Tyto údaje byly většinou získávány z materiálů Eurostatu, České národní banky a Českého statistického úřadu. Závěry byly učiněny na základě vyhodnocení všech předložených informací. Práce byla doplněna o nezbytné definice pojmů a problémů.

Předinvestiční hodnocení IS/ICT projektů - Cost-Benefit analýza

Práce analyzuje problémy spojené s předinvestičním hodnocením IS/ICT projektů, zejména v oblasti veřejné správy. Stručně představuje co CBA je a k čemu se používá, spolu s možností jejího využití v IS/ICT oblasti. Nabízí postup zpracování CBA projektu veřejného informačního systému, její obsah a nejdůležitější součásti včetně analýzy rizik, spolu s výslednými ukazateli a jejich vyhodnocením. Prezentuje některé nástroje pro odhad nákladů a přínosů budoucí investice, a hodnotí jejich užitečnost a vhodnost využití. Popisuje hlavní důvody proč by zpracování CBA mohlo být užitečné z pohledu jak dodavatele, tak zákazníka v projektu informačního systému. Stanovuje kritické faktory úspěchu při zpracování analýzy.
