HOFFMANNOVÁ, Denisa
The bachelor thesis examines the reflection of practical training conducted in the scope of the study of social work at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The objective of the bachelor thesis is to determine the content and contributions of practical training in social work from the perspective of students of social studies. With respect to the objective delineated above, four research questions were postulated. Does the content of practical training correspond to the content of work as determined by the Faculty? What are the contributions that practical training makes for students of social sciences? Is students' knowledge of the content of a social worker's job sufficient? Do social workers provide adequate information on dealing with users of social services? Based on specialized literature, the first part defines basic terms used in the thesis. This part scrutinizes the terms "social work" and "social worker". In addition, this part provides a brief classification of social work methods, the minimum education standard for social work, which is the main tool for improving education in social work in the Czech Republic. As a future social worker, a student of social work should have both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, gained through practical training and supervision. Moreover, the theoretical part delves into the themes of practical training and facilities where practical training can be conducted. The practical part of the bachelor thesis makes use of a qualitative research, interrogation method and technique of a semi-controlled interview. The research set was composed of 10 students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, whose field of study is Social work in public administration or Rehabilitation and psychosocial care of disabled children, adults and seniors. The method of cluster creation was applied as a procedure for data evaluation. The research indicated that the students were well aware of what the work of social workers entails. The students learnt to cope with initial concerns and negative emotions. The students' practical training gave them experience may rely on in their future life. Moreover, the practical training helped the students identify the target group they wish to be concerned with in their careers. The practical training pinpointed for most of the students a large number of weaknesses to be challenged by them in the future. As a positive contribution, the students mentioned unanimously the positive approach of social workers to clients and their work in general.

Problems of practical teaching of nurses from the perspective of students and nurses
VLČKOVÁ, Darina
The education of nurses, as well as other non-doctor medical workers, has seen significant changes in the course of the past twenty years. In compliance with current legislation, the studies of general nurses only take place at universities and colleges these days. The schooling of nurses consists of theoretical and practical education. Both of them mingle and supplement each other during the complete course of the studies. Theoretical part consists of general as well as special subjects which are followed by practical schooling. This takes place at and ambulatory, ward, one-day and home-based sanitary facilities.Three aims of dissertation were set at the beginning of the research. First was to find about factors which influence the cooperation of students and nurses during the practical session. Second was based on finding factors with influence on nurse's conduct of the practical session. The last aim was to find about factors which motivate and de-motivate students during the practical session. For the purpose of gaining the data, two groups were established. First was the group of seven female students studying the combined form of subject field ?general nurse? at ZSF JU, all of them having received medical education before. Second was the group of nurses working at České Budějovice Hospital, Inc. For the purpose of data collection, the qualitative method of inquiring through semi-standardized interviews was chosen. The answer to the question ? what factors most often influence the cooperation of students and nurses during the practical session? ? was defined by their cooperation, chiefly by the way of their mutual conduct. This was the essential factor pervading all areas of the research. The other important factor applies to the groups of five or more female students where nurses did not have enough time for the students. The other important question was: what influences nurses' conduct of the practical session? As the main positive influence, the interest of students to learn new things as well as their dilligence was cited. The main obstacle in this process, according to nurses, is the lack of time which is devoted to students in order to teach them or show them the aspects of the profession. Demands and challenges of the profession also contribute to the factor cited above. The last but not least factor is the negative influence of large group of students being part of the same shift at the department. And the factors that motivate students during the practical session? It is obvious that the key factor is the possibility to gain information and enough capacity to perform medical actions. At the same time, the students expect helpful and accomodating personnel possessing enough time and patience which should be devoted to them. On the contrary, the factors which de-motivate students are negative attitude and conduct of nurses at departments, too many students grouped into a shift and few opportunities to perform expert medical action. All interviews suggest that improvement could be accomplished through permanent presence of mentors or expert tutors from the faculty who would have enough time for students. It is suggested that data and information from research could be used at clinical facilities for the purpose of practical sessions. The persons responsible for practical sessions could use those data and information to make the practice and cooperation more effective. Information could be used as a base for seminar for shift nurses who get in touch with students on a daily basis. Furthermore, the outputs of research could serve as recommendations for students which could lead to their improvement. Above all, the research serves as a topic for reflection and insight into both worlds.
The benefit of the internships for the midwifery students
RAKUŠANOVÁ, Lucie
The Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice offers students of midwifery the internships in Finnish town Kemi and in Namibian town Keetmanshoop. According to the final reports, students who return from the placements are very satisfied. This is mainly due to the practical skills gained by the management of the local midwives. One of the objectives of this thesis was to find out the specifics of the contribution of the foreign internships for students of midwifery. Another objective was to identify the specifics of the practical training of midwives in Finland and Namibia and to find the opportunities for their integration into the midwives training program in Czech Republic. The theoretical part deals in introduction with the theory and the benefits of the internships abroad. Secondly it deals with the education and the practical training of midwives in Czech Republic and the influence of mentorship on this training. Finally, the theoretical part covers education and practical training of midwives in Finland and Namibia. The qualitative research was used for this thesis, with the structured interviews as the technique of data collection. Five respondents, participants of foreign internships corresponded to ten questions in April 2012. The specific benefits of the internships for students of midwifery that were identified can be used by the foreign department of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies to create promotional materials for the internships abroad. The identified specifics of the practical training in Finland, Namibia and student?s opinions on the application of these specifics into the midwifery training in Czech Republic can serve the practical training guarantors of the faculty as an inspiration to improve and enrich the practical training of midwives in the Hospital Ceske Budejovice. It can particularly help with the selection of practical training mentors and transform theirs and midwives attitude to training of future generations of midwives. Finally, this thesis can also serve as an educational and inspirational material for mentors of practical training.
